Absolute horrendous service from Halfords on Littleton Street, Leicester. Dropped my car off for mot on Friday, it failed the mot but the 'mechanics' didnt know what the problem was except that it was an exhaust issue. They charged me £50 to figure out what the problem was with a 'diagnostic test' and then charged me another £400 for replacement coil and spark plugs ----daylight robbery! I had asked the female receptionist to tell them to re-attach my rear windscreen wiper...but that was not done. And when I went to collect my car today I was served by a guy..i think his name was Bruce...totally arrogant..by the way with no customer service skills. He handed me my keys but when i noticed the toyota symbol wasnt on it and questioned it...he got defensive and told me to prove that it was there in the first place. He refused a replacement key ...and i hadnt even asked for one. I just wanted to know what happened. He didnt have a clue...but then its a common thing at this branch...being clueless. The amount of times ive been handed back the wrong car keys when collecting my car is a joke....i should have picked up a bmw when they offered me one last time! Anyway...i wont be returning to this branch...i suggest you all look elsewhere too...dont say i didnt warn you!

The guys at Halfords Woodgate in Leicester were fantastic. Really polite & accommodating, a really good experience of visiting a car garage. The MOT on my vehicle was carried out professionally & within good time. Really talkative lads in the desk who were really approachable & honest with their view of my vehicle. Good to be Kept Informed. Took my car to Halfords, Woodgate Leicester. Situation with car has already caused us some stress but the first contact person, Bruce at Halford is a gem! He told us straight to the point when he could get our car sorted to get us back on the road. I had a full car service with Halfords expecting a high quality check and any problems to be sorting. I did mention there was knocking at the wheel of the car where Halfords said one side had its anti roll bar changed but the other didn’t. They mentioned no problems, however I then went to another garage who said it was the anti roll bar which is damaged and would result in an MOT failure as a dangerous fault. Therefore, I didn’t feel I got my money worth with this service as I expected this to be picked up. There was nothing Halfords could do about it as nothing was reported by the technician. Definitely won’t be going back again.

Halfords Repair Garage has no customer waiting room onsite, the day I took my car for a headlight bulb change it was raining and I had to stand outside this is unacceptable. I must say the service was excellent, staff were excellent too, I will always go to this garage for my car repair providing they can provide waiting room.

Used this autocentre several times and won't be coming back. Reason beeing, for my second time, I've ordered tyres to be fitted for my mrs car, got an appointment, showed up, due to covid there was no waiting facility's, fair play I thought, let's go, and we'll be back in an hour as instructed. Its pouring down with rain, very cold day. On my way back I get a call to say there's a problem. I got back, 55 minutes since leaving the car, to be told tyres that been ordered a week prior and appointment arranged for them to be fitted - wasn't in stock! Beeing adamant to get exact tyres that I ordered I've been told to come back after a week. To put this right, for the time wasted and making us to spend time in the rain and cold due to covid shutting everything around I've suggested to give us a free wheel alignment for the next time. The person that I was dealing with agreed that it would be appropriate for the hassle that have been caused and they will do it. The big day comes - week later from when it originally should have happened, they do the tyres, balance it but, BUT - turn around and tells me SORRY, WHE CAN'T UNDO A BOLT SAFELY TO DO THE JOB (THAT HAS BEEN PROMISED YO MAKE IT UP FOR WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK) I would have thought they are specialists and should be able to rectify something like that. But I guess they are NOT. Now, why I'm writing this now months later? Had to do other set of tyres for my Mrs car, different place and they did not had any issue with getting all wheels aligned. MORAL OF THE STORY, THEY MOST LIKELY LIED TO US ABOUT NOT BEEING ABLE TO UNDO A BOLT AND THAT THEY FEEL LIKE THEY WOULDNT MIND TO MAKE IT UP FOR US FOR NOT MANAGING THEIR ACTUAL STOCK CORRECTLY AND WASTING PEOPLES TIME. Therefore, how can somebody be willing to use halfords autocentre with a costumer service like that? If any of costumer services people will see this and feel like speaking to me please be welcome but I'd imagine I've laid out my experience with halfords autocentre in Woodgate clearly and fairly.

Booked in for a clutch test suspension test and also steering check I dropped car at 830 and by 845 they called to say car was ready when I got bk I asked about all the above and the man didn't have a clue no paperwork and literally drove car round block said the clutch was OK and that was it I wasn't happy went and had the same checks at f1 garage on Abbey Lane to be told my clutch had near on gone and had to have new clutch so becarfull at halfords

Good experience of booking online and good service in branch. Was very happy to see they too covid seriously, socially distanced, sanitised my keys before they used them and have them back to me. Also engineer wore gloves, out a plastic sheet on the seat before driving and wore a mask.

This was my first time at Halfords as I live nearby, Biggest Mistake,My Car has never failed a MOT, and the last time I got a small bulb changed of my number plate it cost me £8 including the mechanic charges, since I wanted to get a ful service done I fell for this!! Never returning Back WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAY AWAY!! Booked an MOT with Major Service paid £249 was called and informed my car needs 2 tyres brake-pads changed and one bulb on license plate was coated £350 extra for replacing all, was happy to get it fixed as I trusted the Brand, but after consulting some other garages and friends and colleagues I have come to the conclusion I was ripped off, they charged me £19 +VAT for changing a tiny bulb on licence plate!! So I dont want to guess for other stuffs, Thanks for giving me a an expensive lesson. I take the blame for trusting the Brand, should have read the reviews first, seems its not only me who feels the same.COMPLETE RIP OFF!!

I took my car Peugeot 206 for a service and MOT on the 4th November. They called me and said that my car has failed MOT because of oil leak and I needed to pay £400 in addition to the £199 I had paid for service and MOT. I was happy to pay this of which I did. However, they returned my car with no water and with the oil issues were not fixed. They asked me to return my car to be fixed after a few days of ongoing issues which I didnt have before my attendance at halfords autocentre, only to offer £150 refund and say that they are not able to fix the oil issues despite the £600 paid. The halfords mechanic informed me that they managed to fixed the oil leakage at the top of the engine. However my local mechanic found many leakage issues which have not been fixed by Halford. I regret ever taking my car to this shop. On top of this the mechanic at Halford was meant to refund my money and send me an invoice to confirm that the invoice has been proceed, however this has not been done and I am not sure if the refund was processed. The poor service I have received in not in alignment with the Halford brand. They took advantage that I am a new driver and took my money and all they did was replace the lights and filter. On top of this they charged me for diagnosing the oil leak which they didnt fix or even know where it is coming from. I will be calling the head office and report that my refund has not been proceed and will be filing a complaint. I was kind enough to record the conversation of the mechanic stating that my refund will be processed and I was right in doing this because he lied that he will send me proof that refund has been processed and has not. I wouldn't advise anyone to take their car to this autocentre. I am now having to pay extra to my local mechanic to fix the car. Please utilize your local mechanic and AVOID HALFORDS AUTOCENTRE AT ALL COSTS.

Booked for MOT and Service through online. MOT was free with service, the Centre were insisting me to pay for the MOT as well. Finally i had to explain a lot and show their website to get the MOT charge removed from the bill. MOT Failed and have been quoted a huge price. Good that I haven't given my car for them to repair and do the MOT. Took the car to other reputed garage and sorted everything and saved £200 plus.

Staff rude as always at every Halfords. Put a tyre on my wheel and didn’t tell me the wheel had buckled and was unsafe to drive when handing it back to me. Had to find out from reading the email invoice and when I called to ask what the invoice meant they were very unhelpful.

My car was squeeking when I went over bumps so I booked it into Halfords for a suspension check. They told me they couldn't hear anything and there was nothing wrong with the car. The noise continued so I booked the car into Halfords again. This time they told me the problem was the shock absorbers which would cost £500 to replace. I agreed to the work and paid the £500. I drove the car home and it was still making the squeeking sound. I took it back to Halfords a 3rd time. They told me they would look into it and call me back. I waited all day but Halfords never called me. So I called them. They said it would cost me another £300 to fix the problem. I asked why they hadnt fixed the problem the first time and they were unable to explain. They still haven't fixed the problem.

They took 50 minutes to put 2 new tyres in I didn't check as it was my partner's car to find at the weekend they had put 215s rather than 205 s and then put 42 psi in the tyres should be 28 psi ....I called and they came up with the excuse they had wrong stickers on the tyres said I could go back but how long would that take 2 hours not ever again.....
