I had a mot here a while back they tried to RIP me off they said it failed for my window wipers and needed 2 new tires the man looked angry when I said that was a lie as the wipers were new and fitted a month ago then guess what my car passed and never replaced the wipers they did replace the 2 tires . Also said I need £151 repair doing so as I didnt trust him i took my car straight to another garage and no work was needed the man was so rude and arrogant towards me there are so many bad reviews about this garage on google I wish I had seen them before I booked in. I now use kwik fit which is only a 3 minute drive away from halfords it was the first time I'm used halford and the last

Bruce was really helpful and got us out of serious difficulty which would have prevented us driving home to London. All he supplied was a bit of ingenuity and a bolt, secured our wing mirror and didn't even charge us. Great training from Halfords. Will definitely use your Autocenters again

Very rude, the roads were bad so I was 10 min late turning up. They refused to do MOT because 'my slot was gone' despite booking it in & were argumentative about it. If you want customers then don't treat them like an inconvenience. Previously they have taken an entire day to do a simple tyre swap so serves me right for going back to be honest.

first of all my mot was 25 mins late it failed on the hand brake i booked it in for a brake check and i was told it needed new disc and pads on the rear at a cost of £208 i disagreed when i went and looked my self it only needed a brake service £27.50 i don't know if they tried to rip me off or they had some one that did not know what he was doing doing the job.

Unfriendly and inefficient staff. Many of the work that was supposed to be done on the car like changing brake discs and tyres and wheel alignment weren’t done and I was also charged VAT twice for items that I had already paid for online. On top of that they don’t pick up the phone either. Very disappointed!

I needed the air con in my car sorted during the exceptional hot weather. I did struggle to get in near where I live so thought I would try Halfords. It was easy to book online and they could get me within a day. The problem was sorted and the service was excellent. Very polite and helpful staff.

Had to wait from 10.30 til 3.30 to get our tyre check done which was bad enough, but not the reason for the 2 stars. Took car in to ask them to check our front tyres as they keep deflating, the mechanic rang and said the seals had gone (which he thought might be the issue) but can't do it because of corrosion on the wheel. I said i knew about the corrosion and i'd book in to have them sorted, to which his response was 'well you could have said you had it booked in elsewhere' as if I were to know the issues were related and was very defensive in general. Bad customer service.

Booked appointment for free brake check for VW transporter long wheel base van. When arrived at the depot in Woodgate Leicester the fitter refused to give service stating it is used for Taxi purpose. It does not mention on the web that Taxi vehicle is excluded from the offer. I need to pay £49.99 plus VAT for brake check. DO NOT trust this company as they do not include all the information on their website but waste customer time and lure them to their business.

The day before my appointment (after booking 6 days prior) i was contacted to state that the 4pm appointment is an online booking error. As the Autocentre closed at 4.30pm and they required an hour to complete the MOT, they had no choice but to cancel the appointment. I received the email cancellation before the call even ended. I was offered no apology, no alternative booking and left stranded without a valid MOT. The worst customer service experience I have ever had. If I could put zero stars I would have.

I bought my car in for an MOT which failed on a couple of things including the emissions. I had heard things about people being ripped off but I have used this Autocentre before with no problem. When I came in to pick up my car, I was stood in the reception area for about 15 minutes before anyone came to help me. I also felt like the manager was quite difficult to talk to and felt like he didn't really want to explain things too much and came across quite rude. I was told that before doing anything they needed to run a diagnostics test and then see what the problem is but could not tell me how long the work would take and told me it would be extra for parts needed but they didn't know what parts or how much. I have since got a quotation for all the work from a local garage (which I normally avoid unless absolutely necessary as it's on the more expensive side) as I thought the quote from Halfords was far too high and they have quoted me £150.00 total for the work whereas halfords quoted me just under £400 and said there would be more on top of that to fix the problem after the diagnostics test was run. The MOT experience was fine the staff weren't very friendly but this doesn't bother me too much and I don't dispute the work which needs doing, I'm happy to pay for work which needs doing but this quote was massively overcharged. I don't know much about cars and how much these things cost but I thought it seemed a lot. It was my Dad who brought it to my attention that it was too much and if it wasn't for him I would have gone ahead and got the work done and have paid over 2 times over the odds. I don't know wether they take avantage of customers who they think won't know much about the car, but I feel like that's the case and anyone using this autocentre should be very careful to not be taken advantage of.

I have been a Halfords customer from years, never had any complains. Visited the Leicester center for MOT and service on 20/07/19. The Center manager Anil is a very rude and unprofessional man. I called the customer service and made the complain. No response from Halfords. Will never go to any Halfords ever again.

Such a shame Halfords lost on getting my cash because of his attitude. But I guess he doesnt care as long as his salary is not affected

Booked online for a free brake pad check. Rushed over from work. Got there to be told that they couldn’t find my booking. Showed the reception my browsing history as couldn’t find my email and it showed I’d been online the night before. The reception was very rude and when asked to speak to the manager was told he was the manager! When I asked what they were going to do the didn’t care. I asked whether they wanted my business and the chap shrugged his shoulders and said ‘not really’. Bad experience. But of a shame as Halfords is a good company on the whole. Having had a good experience at the main Leicester store with the we fit service for my wife’s dash cam. Popped round the corner to walkers and took the chap 10seconds to check my brake pads.
