Danica and I look forward to returning to your very special store on Bond Street ... we always appreciated the personal service and often unique clothing lines. You are a refreshing presence in the frequent sameness of high street shopping !

I wanted to shop with a family business that my mum used to visit decades ago. Unfortunately this is the vibe I was left with, a company stuck in the past. I emailed their customer services and asked the question " Do you stock all of the colours of this item in store?" , the response was ' we don't have details of what we stock in each store at HQ' .What !!, no central basic inventory??, just to see if you sell the red as well as the blue ?. I'm not even asking how many there are, just do you sell them ?. So I had to traipse down there and it was one of the most crowded, confusing shop floors I had been into for a while, no one was at the counter I wanted as I stood there ignored for 8 mins, then I went to another counter to ask for help or the appropriate staff member. She was great, she did the best she could despite it not being her product. In the end I took a punt on the option I had researched elsewhere and bought it there despite it being on discount that week everywhere else, that turned out be a pricey mistake, oh well next time Selfridges.

The food was full of taste, perfect amount of seasoning and lovely decorated. The bill came to 25£ with is a joke in central London. The restaurant was quite , clean, comphy.

Beautiful shop, hidden in plain sight on Bond street. The shop has so many different well-known brands, as well as unique brands that one can not find easily in London. Very interesting collection of clothing styles. Love going into Fenwick as it’s not packed with people and is usually quite relaxing to shop there.

Great department store with very high quality products. There is a cafe on the too floor where you can have a quick lunch. Perfumes, clothing and lots of women accessories from top designers make this place ideal for shopping presents. Highly recommended.

The store's founder, John James Fenwick, was born in Richmond, North Yorkshire in 1846.[2] The original store opened in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1882[3] and sold only mantles, silk goods, dresses, fabrics and trimmings and did not broaden into a department store until John's eldest son Fred Fenwick joined the business in 1890.[4] Fred had trained in retail in Paris and is said to have been inspired by Le Bon Marché,[5] which is regarded as one of the first ever department stores. Fenwick has since expanded its operations. In 1888, it opened a store in Sunderland, but it closed within the year.[6] In 1891, it opened a branch in Bond Street, London.[7] This store was later doubled in size in 1980. The company bought the Joseph Johnson store in Leicester in 1962, which was subsequently rebranded as Fenwick.[8] Fenwick was an anchor department store for the 1976 opening of Brent Cross Shopping Centre in London, which was the first large out-of-town shopping centre in the UK.[9] A further store was opened in Oxford on the site of the F Cape & Co department store in 1978. Outlets in Windsor and York followed in 1980 and 1984 respectively, with a limited range of departments, specialising in clothing, fashion accessories and cosmetics. The Ricemans store in Canterbury was acquired in 1986, and rebranded Fenwick in 2003. The Tunbridge Wells store opened in 1992 as part of the Royal Victoria Place development. In 2001, Fenwick acquired the Bentalls group of department stores for £70.8 million, with stores in Kingston upon Thames, Worthing, Ealing, Bracknell, Tonbridge and Lakeside.[10] The Lakeside store was closed, and three branches (Worthing, Ealing and Tonbridge) were subsequently sold to J E Beale, with Fenwick retaining only the stores in Kingston upon Thames and Bracknell. In 2007, Fenwick purchased Williams & Griffin, an independent department store in Colchester, Essex; this continued to trade under the Williams & Griffin name until a 2016 refurbishment, after which it adopted the Fenwick identity.[11]

Had a quiet cup of tea with a couple of desserts in the cafe. Lovely friendly waiting staff. Then my wife had a facial massage and makeover at Suqqu - which was approached with trepidation, and really enjoyed.

It’s one of those old fashioned department stores we tend to overlook, but it has a fabulous selection of everything from sensible clothes (dresses with sleeves and pockets) suitable for work to still wearable but more directional fashion by younger designers. They are one of the few stores to still have a sensible lingerie department with a wide range of sizes (not just size zero bandages); and they are the only department store that still has a tights department. Also: very dog friendly.

Fantastic service from multiple members of staff. One member of staff even gave me a recommendation for another cosmetic counter when her products weren't quite what I was after and they are some of the best skincare products I've used, my skin is so much better! Very happy customer.

Nicely laid out store, I came here most recently to visit the make up counters and the girls are predictably very knowledgeable and very friendly. For a central London department store its a little more upmarket than some of it's neighbours but also a much nicer and more manageable size. It s no where near as overwhelmingly large and doesn't get anywhere near as packed if you want a quick hit or browse without having to fight the crowds. I prefer it for cosmetics top ups in particular as I know I can be seen to and find things very quickly.
