I believe Barnet Council is a genuinely psychopathic organisation. Fortunately I am not dependent on any kind of benefit so my engagement with it is minimal. I would not recommend anyone to move to this borough or consider starting a business here.

What a shambles this council is. Changed all the waste collection routines and now we have waited over 9 days for the black bins to be emptied. Unable to speak to anyone at the council and no response to my web complaints either.

worst council i have ever had to deal with, always problems with phone lines, even when they pick up they tell you they are busy and to call back later or email, you try to email but dont get anywhere with them, all i wanted to do was to pay for a birth certificate - it has been a month and im still trying, thank god i dont live in the barnet borough! Council an absolute joke.

Stupid Lease Holder services are completely incompetent and don't even understand how radiators works, told me to get a gas safe certificate to remove a radiator, the idiots don't understand their water inside a radiator not gas !!! these people are vermin that are here to make you life more difficult and cause obstructions, rather then helping like they are suppose to, they need to realise they are public servants, always demand to speak to their managers, organ grinders are more effective then monkeys !!! After finally getting to someone in charge the problem was solved and they agreed you dont need a gas safe certificate to change a radiator, wasted 5 days of my life on these imbeciles

Broadwalk shopping centre hasn't got an electric scooter for disabled shoppers. They have a wheelchair but it is impossible to shop in a wheelchair,there is nowhere to put what you bought. Shame on them

Today I have tried to order my bin by using your website. None of your links are working for me. When trying to call you don't offer the option to stay on the call and speak. Other than going to your office my options are limited. Very poor experience and not customer centric proposition.

Worst council I have ever had to deal with. Impossible to get hold of and letters arrive 10 days after the date printed on them, saying you must respond to this letter within x number of days but I've received it after those days have passed! If you pay council tax one day late they charge you extra, take you to court without your knowledge, charge you for not turning up to said court date that you were unaware of and pass your yearly CT bill to debt collectors all within a few weeks and with maybe one letter that arrives too late. I even once got a phonecall from debt collectors saying they'd be at my house shortly and after numerous phonecalls it eventually transpired that Barnet Council hadn't updated my account with what I'd been paying and had me down as having underpaid for months. Never ever had a recycling bin, ordered one through their website and a bin did arrive but was never emptied by the dustbin men and disappeared completely 2 weeks later...

Can only speak to automated service. I need to report my missed bin collection but I need to register an account to do so. I want to speak to a human. Not fill in a form that no one will read. This council had gone to the dogs these last few years. The same period of time they've not increased the council tax in fact! I'd rather pay more tax and have my bins collected thank you. You have one job...

I have lived in many boroughs but the state of this council in particular is the worst! Sort out the bin collection and recycling once and for all. It's a HEALTH HAZARD!!!! SACK EVERYONE and start over! I am certain there are many people who would be grateful to have a job and actually do it!

utterly useless service, they dont even deserve 1 star. Completely incompetent especially Lease Holders Service who make you waste time getting documents you dont even need because there to lazy and stupid to do their job properly, they exist to make life harder not more easy, They have too many useless staff who dont want to work and use any excuse to avoid doing actual work and feel they dont have to answer to you, disgraceful behaviour !

A truly inept, blind, backward, non-visionary and uneducated bunch. Closing libraries, letting a beautiful borough to the dogs. Finchley Church End is one of the most beautiful conservation areas and town centres in London, instead of following the lead of Westminster Council and investing in the area so that it follows Marylebone High Street, which it resembles in architecture and character - they let it be over-run with kebab shops and other low quality businesses. Street pavements are never repaired, streets are never cleaned, houses cost millions and the council refuses to invest in proper brick pavements and paths. Parks are underfunded. Staff are rude and cannot understand what you say - so obviously they are recruiting low quality staff or managers are hiring relatives. Truly the worst run-Tory council the world has ever seen.

This is the most disgusting service I have ever received, 9 times I have called trying to get through to the council tax department, and every time they say they will put me through the call is a dead end and just hangs up on me. It is impossible to speak to anyone that isn't an automated phone service. And then I called up to complain about the complaints department and they hung up on me, and then I called again for the same reason and they said they would put me through to a manager - but just hung up on me. It is ridiculous that this service is meant to represent and help the people living in the borough of Barnet. I am so beyond disgusted at this point, should consider moving boroughs.

Couldn't sort out my council tax and parking for 8 months. Then they sent a huge bill. I asked for installments and they accepted it. They charged the whole bill as if we didn't agree and left me without money for the rest of the month. Whenever I have a problem (never ever called Islington Borough for 8 years before) I know that it will go worse than it is. Their (some) rude employees even shouts at you on the phone. The worst borough of London. I am ashamed to live in here because of them.

Since the beginning of May, i asked for a new blue recycling bin, mine was damaged when it was emptied on the truck, broken wheel, anyway told to leave it on the front of my home, for one month, outside nothing, phoned up three times, told me there's a backlog, leave it outside on the pavement, anyway i told the recycling team when they emptied my recycling, that the wheel was broken, i was lucky they had a spare, took two seconds to change the wheel!!

Utterly unacceptable service, I reported some fly tipping in a public alleyway near me home which was causing problems and creating a major health hazard, the receptionist had the nerve to tell me they couldn't deal with it because it "wasn't in a public area" THIS IS A TOTAL LIE! It was in a public area, they just thought they could fob me off with an excuse as they were too lazy to do there job. After arguing my case they eventually backed down and said something might be done "in 10 days" despite the rule for fly tipping being to clear the rubbish within 48 hours. Lazy, negligent and evasive, would rather see the borough go to the dogs that actually do their job.

I have been trying to contact this council for months now !!! - no one knows who to speak to or is taking any responsibility regarding the issue with the Caravan Travelers who forcefully entered the private property just of the North Circular almost 6 months ago - Why am I paying you Council taxes ????
