Had to wait around 15 minutes for staff to get my car seat. By this time apparently I reached the cut-off point for getting someone to install my car seat, in addition I was told there wasn’t staff available to install my car seat and if I wanted them to install it, I had to come the next day. As I have a small car, I had to fit in the car seat myself, I couldn’t store it in my boot or car to come back and get Halfords to fit it in the next day. As I finished, I saw staff install a car seat in another car and then as I shopped in another store and came out, I saw staff fitting lights on another car. So was I lied to?! The same lady who fitted the car seat for the other vehicle was fitting the lights on this one - so clearly staff was available. So I realise I was being lied too and then realised I didn’t actually hit the cut-off point either. Will I be shopping here again - HIGHLY UNLIKELY!!

Absolutely poor service, lack of up to date promotions. Antonio was the guy who served me very rude and looked like he wasn’t bothered with providing good service, had to show the promotion on website to show that a promotion was in place. Made me wait a further 15-20 minutes to serve me before the next few people in line

On my old fiesta you could change a lightbulb in 4 seconds, my new car involves dismantling the entire light fitting or crawling around underneath. So I paid £8 and an awesome guy called Trevor did it for me. I’m writing this review because he is a proper gem, friendly and really lovely. And my car is road legal again :)

What’s the point of going there when you don’t have a single bicycle of the many we asked for today at stock? Not everyone who works long hours every day has the time to “come back in a weeks time for when you ‘’may have ordered the bicycle in” “ . What a waste of time. No wonder Halfords isn’t successful overall. Such a genuine disappointment when you simply want to buy a bicycle for goodness sake. No wonder you can’t compete with other stores. Terrible and I won’t ever come back ,in particular your specific store. By the way - I work in a management position - and your level of arrogance of your staff is unbelievable.

Antonio your customer service skills are extremely poor, please ask management to send you to some training course. Iv been coming here for long time and it is getting worse. Bike section wait is ridiculous, they make you wait for nothing and they make things up as they go along. They tell me boardman bike is very good blah blah blah when I told them boardman is owned by halfords they didnt even know that. Halfords please sort out the staff working ar mile end branch if there was negative stars they would of definitely be awarded for it.

Refused to service my bike as it was not sold by Halfords (I have an Giant bike). Was told they don't have proper tools and knowledge, that they damaged client bikes in the past and do not want to bear such responsability anymore. Forget about anything written on Halford's website, they will only comply if they feel like it. This store is reinventing the franchise concept! Avoid at all cost!

I went to halfords this afternoon for a free check, i had a lovely man serving me asian guy who was 19 very lovely, however before i encountered him i spoke to a guy called nicky who was very patronising and not friendly which made a feel belittled. They also did not carry out the full checks and there was nobody at the counters when it was time to pay from the checks that were half-hearted carried out. however the 19 year old was very helpful and kind otherwise this store is bs

Really disappointing I visited this store with the intention of buying a dash cam and having it hardwired + SD card fitting the whole thing would have cost over £200+ I walk in stuff busy chatting away amongst them self I walk over to the dash cam counter no one to help I ask one of them he reluctantly comes over bearing in mind I had done a little research before I went in so I sort of knew the 1 I wanted + a back up 1 just wanted to know the difference and what 1 offered over the other 1 my answer was more money you send the Better the camera really ?? That’s not what I asked I want to know things about the 2 different dash cams poor staff would never shop in Halfords again waste of time try employing people who want to work for u who can actually give you some useful information and then maybe your store would do a lot Better because I was a customer willing to spend £200+ but you lost out! Shocking store..

Mechanics not particularly knowledgable. They needed me to book my bike in a week in advance for a tyre change because my bike has an internal gear hub. I was told this was because”it would take time” but obviously it was because they didn’t know how to do it. Did the change myself at home in 20 minutes.

I ordered online and went to collect. There were 3 or 4 members of staff and a queue of 3 people in front of me. I was waiting for 20 minutes and got sent with my stuff to another till. At least the guy at the second till was very nice. Incredibly incredibly incredibly incredibly slow. Ignored the whole time.

Went there to fix my bike. Not fixed - staff said if I didn't ask for a receipt in the first place, it will be 'tough' (his words) for me to ask for them to rectify the issue due to their negligence. Well sir your tough attitude was noted and I will certainly stay away from this place. (The lady at the bike repair was helpful though) In addition, read some comments dated 2 years ago when they ignored customers while being on phone chatting & laughing. This was exactly what happened to me: the counter called that bike repairing guy on phone, he let it ring for ages and then shouted across to ask them to come over to speak instead of calling - the whole time, I was standing there right in front of him.

Update to year old review - last week Nick and Mo helped me with new stronger headlight bulbs and some other bits - such great guys - so very helpful - sound advice and nothing too much trouble - Nick always makes sure that shopping there is always a pleasure. Highly recommended. I love my local Halfords in Mile End - I pop in about once a week for something for my car or something and they are always willing, helpful, thoughtful, polite and cooperative. Many other retail outlets could learn a lesson from Halfords! Sure you might be able to get 'it' from eBay a bit cheaper - but today? Of course not - allow a week at least - and then who will get grubby and actually fit the fiddly bulb, make the new number plates while you wait, advise how to get the silicone wax off your windscreen and sell you the products and... and... and... Sorry I'll stick with friendly Nick and Emma (todays helpers!) at Mile End thanks - AND THANKS!!!

I feel weird giving 5 stars to Halfords but when I think back I've always had great service at this outlet. Prices are pretty good and you'll nearly always find what you're looking for. Most of the staff are pretty knowledgeable but they're all honest if they don't know something.

Bought the Raleigh Evo-2 folding bike at this store. Rode it for 2 days, bike chains keeps coming off whilst riding. So took it back to the shop, a gentleman,not the one who sold me the bike, which was the store Manager btw. Said gentleman was shocked the bike was sold to me, as it was in such a bad state, including: handlebar caps missing, screw missing, frame bent etc. Truth be told I've never owned a bike before so had no idea what to expect. I'm just glad I got a full refund afterwards, albeit after a few phone calls. I suspect they sold me a second hand bike hoping no problems would arise! They even checked the 'report card' off as fine before they sold me the bike. Which obviously turned out to be a complete lie. I rode that bike to work and back for 2 days, imagine if I had an accident on the roads due to them selling me a faulty bike! I recommend getting your bikes from a trustworthy store such as Evan Cycles, which is where I got my new bike from that I use for commuting to work. I've not had a single problem so far. They also support financing which is great if you buy a more expensive bike. TLDR; Do NOT buy a (cheaper - £250) bike from this Halford store, they can sell you a second hand bike which may cause accidents on the roads. Buy your bike from trustworthy stores.

Probably the best customer service I've had in any bike store, the guys there were straight up and honest and very helpful. Don't know what all the negativity is about though. They used their expertise and own personal experiences with bikes to really provide a good understanding of the world of roadbikes - this being especially useful to budding newbie cyclists like myself! :)
