Great experience today (Sunday 25/4/2021). Friendly and helpful staff, which is important in this type of store when it can be intimidating not knowing what you are looking for. Excellent choice of products for scratch repair on car. Had looked at the Halfords website prior to the visit and lots of good video tutorials on there which helped to understand what I was looking for. New favourite place to shop!

It is strange visiting shops as they begin to open now in 2021. Halfords on old Kent road have done well. They have a strict policy of 9 people upstairs and 20 downstairs currently. A friendly man on the door is there to keep count and let people in as others leave, and ensure masks are worn. Hand wash is available as you enter, and when I visited the door man read cleaning the door handles continuously. Distancing lines at the till help as well.

It was my first time shopping at this store today, I needed engine coolant for my vehicle and I was not sure or aware of the different types. I spoke to a gentleman at the front desk and he provided me with information on the correct item to get and a better deal at getting the bigger option of the product. He was very sincere and helpful! I can say that I do agree with their motto that no one will beat their customer service. Will always return back to this store for my car needs! Great job!

The guy serving me was fantastic. His senior colleague was less than good. I asked for the front brake to be adjusted as it felt loose. The guy serving me agreed. The senior staff member brushed me off saying it's meant to be like that...it would take an hour to adjust...anyway the mechanic isn't in today. Unsatisfactory response. I'll bring the bike back on Saturday, when I'm told the mechanic will be available, and expect a better service and the brakes to be properly set.

Kenny was extremely helpful and had me on my way in no time at all. He was more than happy to talk me through the process of changing my bulbs, and he was very polite and friendly. I would recommend Kenny’s service to anybody that visits the Old Kent Road Halfords!

Went there today to purchase a motorcycle battery. There was only 1 staff at the till with a large row of customers. I wanted to ask a question so I took a battery to the parts area where I've had a customer service representive would ask if I need help. Saw another customer being dealt with and a staff member did see me there while he dealt with another customer. After he finished with that customer he left and went into the stock room never to be seen again. I waited there with the motorcycle battery and waited. At the end I was so ticked off and just left. They've lost a sale there I might as well get my battery elsewhere, probably Amazon, not sure I'm gonna go there anymore. ????????

Went there today to ask about the right bike for me, spoke with Trevor and got first class customer service, he was very knowledgeable and did not try to be pushy, but instead was informative. When leaving store got again excellent service, this guy had locks but I didn't catch his name. All in all a great experience from start to finish

I popped at this branch to have a health check for my B-Twin bikes for free today. I entered the store and told a member of staff that we've come for our appointment and he was very helpful indeed! So much so that he offered to carry two of my bikes up the stairs! Wow! What a very strong man! I was going to tip him but didn't see him again unfortunately. We had both bikes checked and asked for confirmation that it was a free service as this was my first time here! I've had my bikes for two years which have hardly been used in that short space of time. The only time we really used them was for the most part during lock down in the summer of 2020. I was surprised when he told me that I will need a new bracket priced at £10 and the wheel true x2 at £12 plus a labor £30. The other bike just needed a bottom bucket at £10 and again £30 for labor. I was shocked to hear about how they charged for labor to be honest. I feel the labor is more expensive than the actual parts for the bikes! Wow! When lock down is over in April, I will go back to Decathlon (where I originally bought the bikes) and inquire if they do a labor charge. If I was going to have anything fitted I wouldn't have been able to anyway as the mechanic guy was not there for some reason. I feel they need to sort this out! They need more members in their shop! In the end, I was told I would have to go to another branch to sort this out which was really bad! It's a very quiet store at this branch with hardly any cycling clothing for women. They need to sort out their stock especially in the cycling department as I was really looking forward to looking at the clothing in person rather than online. I will give this branch a 3 star, I think.

Great service and with a smile. There were fewer staff members on the shop floor than I would have hoped, so it took a while for me to ask them about a product I was looking for. However, once they did get to me they were helpful and very friendly.

I went in for some mud guards and lights for my bike and was given a recommendation by the store worker, Mario. I then mentioned about my disc brakes being squeaky and Mario very kindly offered lots of information and fixed the issue for me there and then. What a star! Very helpful and really friendly. The store needs more people working there, they’re understaffed, ideally more people like Mario.

What an amazing team of friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful people work at Halfords. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, they take the time to help, inform and when asked assess what accessories you might need for your bike. Then they fit them for you! The service here is so much better than I have become used to, it was a lovely surprise.

Very bad coustemer services. Make me feel like I am not existing in the store. No smiles, no attention of coustemer needs in the store. Staff do not care at all siting and talking by the phone or with chating with other staff. No politely. My advice is to be change all staff from the GM to that store. Very poor training and motivation.

Would give 5 stars for the products, but here we are reviewing the shop, so... Inredibly slow in attending customers, most of the times there is only 1 staff person to attend, suggest, reapir, collect, manage, etcetera... My experience: I was rescheduled for a change in the ordered bike, and when I come back to the shop few days ater at the arranged time, I discovered that my bike was not assembled yet. After stating that I was told by the same person that arranged the time to come back on that morning day, he told me THAT I WAS LYING and that he did not tell me such things. So I stated that I would remain there till my bike was not finally assembled, but was told me I would have been notified by phone. I received the call later on the day, and went back to the store. There was a long queue at that time, and had to wait more than one hour to be attended, even if that same staff person was still there and he clearly had spotted me on the queue. Notice that it takes me more than 40 minutes to get to the store. I was expecting that, after what happened in the morning, he would attend me immediately independently from the queue (after all it had been his mistake, not mine). But he did not attend me or at least prioritize me in any way. I understand that staff can be non professional, but the fact of stating that a customer is lying, well, that never happened in my life. No words to add.

Staff are not too bad. Lots of parking. It is a nice large store and it appears to cover everything. Sometimes, it can be hard to get through on the phone because the staff has to serve instore customer has well as man the customer in store. It can be difficult to reach anyone on the cycling centre. With bicycles becoming more important, I think it is important for all companies to include more staff. It is on the slow side, waiting up to 30 minutes. But it is not their fault as they are talking to customers and advising at the same time. On the phone, oriental lady she is amazing. She is polite and helpful. Mario and Trevor at the cycling centre are cool. I can see they are very helpful so cant knock it. Score might seem unfair but then Halford need more bodies to meet demand. Maybe I just arrived at the wrong time. All inmates waiting to do is pay up and go.

On Saturday 13th March I went to old kent Road branch to collect a bike I had ordered 10 days earlier. I entered the store shortly before the collection time and joined a queue to get upstairs to the bike shop. After waiting a while I spoke to member of staff and said I had an appointment to collect a new bike. I was told my bike wasn't ready. Without even being asked my name or an order number. I told the staff member that I had received several emails and messages stating my bike is ready. If my bike wasn't ready why was I not notified beforehand? Why was I allowed to show up at the store? He went and spoke to a colleague, came back and took my order number, went upstairs to the bike shop, came back down and told me my bike was in fact ready but I have to wait. No indication of how long, no apology for clearly trying to fob me off. I waited a while longer then Trevor brought my bike downstairs to me. Unlike the other staff he was polite and helpful. I asked him about another order I had to collect. A phone mount. I had received an email and a text message to say it was ready. I was told it was actually out of stock and that I would have to wait at least until the next delivery in a few days. Why was I not notified? Why was I sent messages confirming my order was ready? That evening I spoke to someone on the customer service chat on the website. I asked when I might get my order. I was told the item was out of stock and I would get a refund. No mention of trying fulfilling the order. My order was cancelled. Until now my money hasn't been refunded. I spoke to another person on the chat a few days later who told me my refund was being processed but still no refund. About a week after collecting my bike the bolt in the seat clamp snapped. I contacted Halfords Customer services, or the 'resolution expert', as they call them. I went through my experience at Halfords. It took days to get a response from them. The person who replied to me eventually was polite. But ineffective. Basically nothing has been done to resolve any of my complaints. 4 weeks later I still have no refund. I had to buy a new seat clamp. Someone from old kent Road branch tried to call me on a couple of occasions but I wasn't able to speak at the time. I have a job and other responsibilities, I can't always drop what I'm doing to talk on the phone. Apart from that no other effort has been made. Looking at the other reviews I see someone from Halfords Old Kent Road does respond. They do have internet access and can write me an email but haven't up until now. So all in all I won't be wasting my time with Halfords again. The customer service at old kent Road is very poor. The availability of stock is very poor. The communication with customers is very poor. The resolution expert I dealt with was polite but that's all. Very slow at responding. I've had to follow up on almost every email I've sent. The refund process is ridiculously slow. My bike, apart from the seat clamp bolt, is fine. That's what they get 1 star for. Personally I will be using the several other bike retailers for anything I need. Evans, Decathlon, Tredz, even Amazon to name a few. Update. 15th April 2021. Still no refund after more than a month. Emailed Halfords about this 2 days ago. Still no response. Typical Halfords customer service. Update. 16th April 2021. 34 days and still no refund. 3 days and no response from Halfords. Someone at Halfords might want to look in to the Consumer Rights Act and what it says regarding refunds.

Technicians in the bike section are extremely helpful and go above and beyond in advising and rectifying any problems. They are knowledgeable and able to answer any queries and guide or signpost to relevant equipment and/or repairs. I can’t praise them enough!

I order my son’s bike online and I payEd to get it fix. It was so affordable to to get it fix and the staff were so friendly and nice. They adjust the seat according to my son’s height and they they advice us to get care package which was only £10 a year I case anything happen to it they will fix it for free. And the bike was so affordable and they different matter colour and different’s type. My son loves his bike and I am happy with my service.

Found staff at Halford very helpful. Not condescending in any way, which as a woman in a predominantly male environment, made the experience very pleasant. Also, staff not focused on sales, at least not in a noticeable way. Service quick and explained clearly and encouraged self learning about how to fix bike puncture in a supportive way.

Poor service and communication. Called the cycling department to book a shifter fitment, was stoped mid conversation by a rude employee saying to book a free MOT. Finished the conversation and booked the free MOT, called the store back and was greatly greetee by assistant manager to which i explained that the bike has got all new parta fitted and needs a shifter fitment to not waste their time with free MOT. He in turn apoligised for colleagues rudeness and said it can be done in a week but his technician is to busy so it will be done next week and that i should still bring a bike in for inspection. I brought the bike in and explained the situation, was told by a employee that if i bring the parts within the next 20 minutes they can do it the same day, so i left the bike and rushed home to take the shifter parts. Arrived at the store wirhin the agreed time, stood in a queue for over and hour with the parts in hand, gave the parts to the guy, to see them chucked on the floor and told to wait. So i waited another hour, thinking the cables are being fitted, stood in the queue again. Once greeted by employee he asked who told you it will be done today? After explaining the situation they apoligised and said the bike will be done in couple days, latest Friday. I droped it off on 31st of August. I contacted the store on Wenesday for an update and got told i will get a call back which i never did and tried contacting the store for two days up until Friday with no luck. I called saturday morning, and explained the situation and was told i will be contacted by the manager in 10 minutes, which never happed, i called after two hours and assistant manager answered, basically atacking me and telling me he never said that it will be completed on those specific time frames, which i explained to him that his work colleagues told me otherwise and if i knew that this will be the case i would of taken the bike home as it was still driveable. I have now spent 4 pounds a day for 5 days to rent a bike to go to work which could be avoided if false expectations weren't provided, and it's Sunday 6th of Sept and i still haven't got my bike yet. This is the worse communication and managment of customers expectations i have ever seen in my entire life.

Had to wait for over an hour to get inside the building to collect an online order. The actual queue wasn't that long the delay was due to the minimal level of staffing the store operates on. After getting in, you will still need to do more queuing to just collect an item. Staff weren't helpful or pleasant and didn't manage the queue well. All business have been affected by the Covid19 but this shop was the worst i have seen in terms of efficiency. I would recommend to avoid at all costs, not worth the money or hustle
