Never enough staff so wait times are very long The booking system for picking up bikes doesn’t work - I was sent a text saying my bike was ready so I went to the store and was told the bike hadn’t even arrived in store, let alone be assembled. Waste of time - just get it delivered to you and save the hassle!

Went into the store to buy a new battery, wipers and a kids bike. i paid for a battery and wipers to be fitted whilst i get the bike and instantly Kenny was able to do this for me. There was quiet a few people waiting so we agreed that he'd do the other fittings first then do mine as i was going to be ing the shop for the next 20mins at least. I went upstairs to get a bike and was served by Trevor who was very knowledgeable about cycles and i felt at ease and comfortable about my purchase! Both Kenny and Trevor were very helpful and when i go back ill definitely be looking for them first!!!

Although my bicycle (and the previous one that I ordered) was delayed, I was kept informed of the progress. When I arrived the bicycle was still not ready, I was told it would take about 15 minutes, which it did and a full apology was made. I totally understood as the store is very busy. On the whole the staff are excellent, special mention must be made of Mario, he gives exceptional customer care.

We had the pleasure of being attended to by Dinh at Old Kent Rd on 11/12. We have a new car and needed a new car seat for our daughter who is 4, has special needs and is a wheelchair user. Although we had already done our research and chosen the Joie Bold for its extended harness option, Dinh spent time making sure the seat would be right for our daughter by allowing us to sit her in it on your in store seat. She demonstrated how she would be positioned in it and showed us how the features would work as she grew. Our daughter was visibly happy and calm. We also have 2 year old twins and decided to get the same seat for them as their existing seats were no longer fit for purpose. We had seen the Joie Bold at one of your local competitors cheaper and produced evidence of this so Dinh was able to price match for us which was great. On a rainy, windy day she took her time to fit all 3 seats for us and again showed us how to do it ourselves in the event we needed to change vehicles or otherwise. She made sure all 3 of our children were seated correctly and safely. Dinh was knowledgeable, compassionate, warm, friendly and patient throughout. She genuinely went above and beyond to ensure we received the best service and is a credit to your organisation. Please pass on our compliments to her.

Terrible service. Arrogant staff member was more concerned about his ego than helping customers. Telling me to "Google it" when asking for help buying car paint. Save yourself the hassle of going to this shop and wasting your time, and just Google it instead.

I visited the Old Kent Road Halfords stor this morning to collect a pre ordered parcel. I was directed to the approapriate counter which was at the other side of the store. As I walked through I was allarmed to see most of the customers not waring face coverings or socially distancing. I stuck with it thinking that it was just a one off. Things got worse ! No staff at the pick up point more customers without masks wandering past staff on the shop floor unchallanged. I waited outside loosing my place in the que until it got a little quiter. Returned to the pickup point again going through the store, I would estimate 7 out of 10 customers were not compling withe the face covering store instructions but went unchallanged by staff. I spoke to the store manager whose only comment was "It's not our responsibility" I was glad to get out of there. My attitude to shopping at Halfords has taken a massive negative hit. If they don' care about this stuff, what else do they not care about. My advice.. Stay away from this store!

went to look at the helmets no notice up saying i could not try them on so tried a M but it had a security tag on the inside with the point sticking in my head ask a guy if the was one i could try on with out it and he was very nude and unhelpful and told me i couldn't try any on due to covid and yet no one said any thing to me when they walked pass so taking my money else where thanks but not thanks. this is not the only time staff have been rude to me either.

Poor service. Last month, I used this service. the budget was £ 90. I accepted, finding it too expensive. the deadline for completion would be 4 working days. after five days, i called the store where they said i had not approved the system. a total mismatch of information. very furious did not want to argue. I went to the store to pick up the bike without completing the job. we called the manager on the spot, and he told us that a part was missing, so the service was not done. We ordered the bike back, because we would take it on another call. When returning the bike we noticed that it was without the chain. absurd. We called again, the manager took the bike again, and then came back saying he had the part and could finish the job in an hour. At the height of the pandemic, we accepted. At the end of the service, we asked for a discount for the inconvenience, and he told us that there were none and it was not their problem. even after some discussion it gave us 30%. After 15 days, the bike has the same problem, the gear falls all the time on the bike. and the noise too. I do not recommend this service.

I recently bought a new bicycle here and purchased the bike build/set-up to be included. When I received the bike, the gears were set up completely incorrectly. It wasn't a slight problem, the rear derailleur was entirely off and couldn't access the small rear chainring, and the gears that could be accessed on the large rear chainring skipped/rattled when shifting. The tyres were also pretty much flat on purchase. I took the bike back to get it looked at and they completely recalibrated the gears. I then found out the gears were still skipping and rattling when shifting and I still couldn't access a number of gears. I later took the bike to a different store and they managed to sort it out for me. Really disappointing service and purchase from Halfords Old Kent Road.

I was on a long commute home. My chain broke. I was near Halfords and popped in expecting to be told I needed to book the bike in. Instead Vaidas in the bike department took a look. With the speed of light checks my broken chain was usable, relinked it with a quick link, checked ok, adjusted my gears then charged just for the link. Whirlwind excellent service. I could not have been more impressed by Vaidas as a representative for Halfords. I am not easily impressed but this was exceptional. Especially because he was about to clock off but was determined to it it done fast before he finished. 1st Class.

It's hugely understaffed but Mario, who works in the bikes section, was super helpful and managed to help me order the exact bike I wanted using vouchers after my previous bike was stolen. I was having problems using them on the halfords website but he went out of his way to ensure I could get the order in, during a time when it seems impossible to get new bikes elsewhere. I hope he is valued by the store but unfortunately it seems the management are not employing anywhere near enough staff so they may lose the good eggs they have.

Terrible service by the Young lad Chris! He started serving me and then went off to serve someone else with no explanation! Leaving me standing around. When I questioned him about it he was rude and wouldn’t answer my questions! I will not be using this store again. I usually get a great service and helpful staff at Halfords unfortunately not with this individual. Halford’s would do well to train this guy up in customer service.

Went to the cycle section to collect an order through click and connect. Normal shops your dealt with instantly. I waited 20 mins and was only acknowledged when I asked if there was anyone serving apparently only one. Finally after 30 mins received my stuff and noticed on the way out they had given me the wrong inner tube. Time to get your house in order and I will not be returning.

Note how all the good reviews are 5+ months old, all the bad one are recent; Something has seriously gone wrong at this store, they never pick up the phone to customers (seriously, how can a business operate like that!?) and will give you no communication on how your repairs are coming along. I put a bike in for repair three weeks ago, they have still yet to begin work on it as a part has not arrived, i can go on amazon and get the same part next day for half the price, so Halfords have some absolutely atrocious logistics and supply. In short, don't go here if you don't like being made a mug of.

Im waiting 1 and a half month for a road bike repair, that is after I already got it silver serviced there 2 months before and then the bike broke again ,the guy who took it in said it looks like it wasn't serviced at all only had few parts replaced becouse it's in such a bad condition, I requested refund for last job or discount on new servicing and he said it will take at least 4 weeks , no one picks up the phone and I live very far away. They have my email but I got no confirmation yet that the repair is finished and I just read a comment of someone walking in and getting their bike fixed on the spot.... wait what? So you don't get back to me for nearly 2 months and someone gets a walk in repair? Can't belive.. March 30 2021; Update; I'm now waiting 7 months since I left my bike there at 30th of August 2020 and its 30th of March 2021. My bike is still with them and after calling halfords support a nice lady contacted me and said she would personally deal with this. They called to ask if I want to order new wheel which was supposed to be ordered 5 months ago but they have run into some difficulties becouse of the coronavirus mmmmm ok what????? was assured I'll get it back soon , and when I do I'll change my review from 1 to 3 stars but in my personal opinion the shop does not deserve even 1 after the whole event took place. Is there like no one walking round and checking the tickets on the bikes could accualy be sorted by dates and you guys could check the system.... maybe they are understaffed who knows but it must be poorly managed if something like this took place.

They have a friendly staff at the Bike Hut I really liked how they allowed us to try the bikes to see our size like when I was buying an Apollo Radar 17 the staff really explained how the gears worked and how dangerous they are when you change them before you ride the bike. He also explained how the bike helped you and how the Care Plan can help you and your bike. Also in Vets4Pets they have everything you need for your pets like the food and the treatment. They also have cute rats, rabbits, Syrian hamster and hamsters.
