No matter how desperate you are DO NOT come to this store! Not only are the people working there rude and inefficient, you need to wait for ages for the simplest of things! I've seen slugs move faster than them! Is it cheaper than others? Maybe but the people on the cycling department are not knowledgeable and you end up with huge delays for work that needs to be redone fairly soon after. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

Terrible experience after purchasing a new Carrera bicycle. I understand having to queue with the current restrictions and waited an hour to pick my bike up. 3 days later I took it for a spin and noticed the pedal fell off. Had to queue for another hour and was told that they had quite a few bikes returned for the same issue. The assistant said the bike would be fixed in a week... a week later and still no joy. I wouldn't mind if the communication was better ... no one answers the phone so I don't know whats happening.

What a terrible experience, I went to this branch to buy a child bike and there was a long queue of customers standing with frustration. They told me they were waiting for more than 30 minutes and only moved few steps forward. I didn't bother to join the queue as I was not prepared to wait for that long and just went to the entrsnce to see what was going on. The shop was closed but the door is open and a staff member get a request from customer at the entrance and goes to the shop floor, bring the items to the customer and get payment by the door. A very slow moving queue as they didn't have enough people serving. I do not recommend going there at the moment if time is an issue.

Not good for cycling gear. Not only is the shop poorly stocked, but the cycling facilities are next to none. There are a couple of racks next to the door for parking bikes but the pavement is not wide enough to do so. Sure there’s a couple of hundred car parking spaces but I’m not sure people would approve of cyclists taking up whole spaces.

Absolutely poor service went there today for a booked appointment for bike repair. Staff were cluless and shop seemed to be managed by nursery children. Please management and staff go and attend a customer service programme. Please accept this as free advice

Went to collect a bike from the store. All i can say issis the team were very helpful and professional. I always have a good experience when I come to the store and will be back when things are less busy due to customers not been able to go into the store (served from the entrance). Keep up the good work halfords

Terrible service...made me q for 40 minutes then told me they didn't have a front wheel for a racer bike even though I'd been standing in the q with a racer with no front wheel in front of them for 40 minutes. Dont bother going here it's a waste of time

It seems that pretty much every Halfords is the same..staff walking about aimlessly and with no sense of purpose. Utterly frustrating when one staff member is attending to a customer's complaint and doing the counter as well while two of his mates are standing behind him doing f all, clueless of the queue..

Replacement bike inner tube. Spoke to two other stores (neither of which filled me with confidence) before calling Halfords Southwark and speaking to Mario. Friendly and helpful from the outset. This store is a little out of my way, but worth it. Sadly Mario was on his break when I brought my bike in, but his colleagues did him no disservice. My bike was fixed in 5 minutes. I am very happy to recommend this store.

Super slow service, I waited nearly an hour to be served and I was second in the queu, not very informative neither in regards waiting time. Today I went to pick up my item that I left last week and again 20 min waiting being no one before me. I asked a guy a question in regards my bike and not very friendly either. Last guy that came to served me was friendly.

I can't say much about the store just yet but a gentleman named Afjol (hope I spelt it correctly) was super helpful over the phone. It's not very often Halfords even answer their phones let alone call you back TWICE to help with updating your order. Basically, I ordered two bikes but realised one was too big (even though it was labelled medium. watch out for Carrera sizing) so I called this store to see if I could change it for small. This is where Afjol told me he would speak with the manager and call me back (I wasn't very hopeful at all). Lo and behold, Afjol called me back within 5 minutes to explain that they didn't have the bike in stock but I could cancel and re-order for another date so they could have both bikes delivered. I didn't want to cancel as bikes are hard to find these days so I just told him to leave it and I would try the medium for size anyway. That was the end of it, or so I thought. Then, about 10 minutes later, my phone rang again with the same number so I answered it and it was the legend Afjol. He called me back to ask if I wanted to cancel half of the order but he would then order me the right size bike and get it delivered to store for me as a direct swap (no fussing with cancelling and re-ordering). I was pretty shocked that he even bothered to call me back to help me but I really appreciated it and hope he gets a nice bonus or raise this year. Thanks Afjol, you made Halfords look good for a change????.

I am really sad with that company. I took my bike to fix which I got from them. I used for 3 months and since the very three days, the bike showed made problems. They say it's 2 years warrant but they will do EVERYTHING to do not take the responsability if anything goes on wrong. After you buy, after they get the money. I fell like, they drive you over and that's it. I still waiting for any answer from them. Because of this virus, I think the time would be longer as everything closed. Anyway, my costumer service experience has been really bad. I am never going to buy from them again. I would not tell any of my friends to buy from them as I dont wish what I passed for no one. useless online book in service - received email stating to join a separate fast lane queue and no such thing - told by member of staff to join outdoor massive line. After 40 minutes 2 persons were served out of roughly 20 people. By that time my appointment time was 30 minutes past the booking time and would be probably another 2h if my work lunch break was longer to continue waiting edit: Booking Reference 3870749

Very poor experience. I went to collect my bike, queued for 1h only to be told that my bike was not ready and that they had called me to say so by mistake. When I called the following days to have an update on the bike they told me that it had been collected while it obviously had not... Worst customer experience I have ever seen in my life.

Shop online pickup at store is not noted anywhere. , queing from 1hr min. When you get to door your not allowed in. You request an item, they show you the item from a distance then you buy or dont. I Needed a new bike seat but wasn't given the opportunity to see the options available. Just one. The most expensive funnily enough. I wasn't even able to hold or feel the item in-person before purchasing. Waste of my time queing. If I wanted to shop this way I would buy online and have it delivered.

The utterly unprofessional staff of Halfords Old Kent Road can't be bothered to pick up their phones, build the bikes they're supposed to or help you in any shape or form. Truly appalling customer sevice, I wouldn't recommend even this was the last bike shop left in the UK.

10*s to Mario who helped me today. My bike has been in the shed for a year so I took it in thinking it would need an expensive service and parts fixing/replacing. Initially another boy started helping me telling me I should sign up for one of the care packages and then also pay for parts. Mario overhead and intervened - he told me there was no need to pay for the care package all that I needed was my tyres pumped and the chain etc. oiled - I was so pleased to have not been ripped off as he could easily have done, and as the other boy almost do. He did this there and then so I could cycle home with a good as new bike. I did end up spending money buying a lock anyway but thanks to Mario I'll definitely be coming back whenever my bike needs checking over! Thank you Mario!

I have given car battery since a week within warranty period. Halford old Kent road branch staff said they should call me next day and they haven’t called me until a week. When I have called many times they haven’t replied. So it’s like halford doing cheat on customers for warranty on battery. I suggest don’t buy car batteries from Halfords. It’s wasting customers time and money.

Ordered jet wash online and collected in about 90 minutes. The world has its problems but not at this store, both members of staff I spoke with were happy helpful and smiling, total change compared to other stores, great to have human interaction and left the store very happy

I drove down there to get my car battery changed, I had Kenny to serve me and he changed the battery in no time. He is skillful, calm and courteous,he is the star of the shop! There are only two staff serving a busy store , can Halfords look into it and increase the staff numbers?
