A nice pub, we had a really awesome bar maid who made the best Pimm's however other staff members seemed aloof with a too cool for school attitude. The garden is a lovely spot for summer, the loos are a bit smelly though. Overall I'd recommend it - varied crowd, couples, kids birthday party, families and friends all seemed present and doggos were welcomed ♥️

went for a sunday roast and the food was incredible and the staff couldn't do enough. the cauliflower cheese is a MUST! Holt Kult Kitchen taking over the kitchen has been amazing. 10/10 would recommend :)

Really good pub! Cosy inside and has outdoor area at the back. Decent drink selection! Highly recommended food!!!! The quality keeps getting better! First went a year ago and was pretty average. But maybe the chef changed in the last few months because now it's amazing!!! Great for vegetarians!!!! The veggie sausage and mash is probably the best I've had anywhere! Veggie sausage sandwich is pretty good too. Oh and the veggie sharing board is absolutely delicious and will more than satisfy 2 very hungry people. Love the Thomas Kemp!!! Always a nice friendly atmosphere too. Def recommended!!!

One of my favourite pubs in kemptown,my local.a great Sunday roast plus if you work for the NHS take your Id badge and you can get a 10% discount.plus lots of other great food on the menu.

We headed down to the Thomas kemp late afternoon and were looking for forward to their delicious roasts. Such a nice atmosphere as always however the worst service we have received here in a long time. The looks on the staff faces were dreadful. We walked in and asked if roasts were available and the lady behind the bar reacted as if she wanted to go home and we were a burden. We ordered drinks to our table and there was no eye contact just abrupt yes and no answers. The waitress slammed down the drinks on the table . Very rude and unhelpful. Particular was the lady with long blonde hair and the other was the lady with red hair and glasses. We felt very unwelcome. Apart from that thanks to the chef as the food was perfect as always.

Visited today for a late roast, we weren't disappointed. The meat was tasty and plentiful. The roasties were still crispy and soft inside. Really lovely meal.

Really lovely and friendly staff, good food. Had a mix up with an order being meat instead of veggie but they sorted it straight away and made me feel less embarrassed by the situation, which I was super grateful for. Great place!

A largish pub with a good selection of drinks and tasty food. A rather pleasant garden at the rear accessed via bi fold doors which are fully opened on warmer days. Does a weekly quiz on a Tuesday for those that like quizes.

Visited to see friends playing live music, not very well attended but never mind, hopefully things picked up from then. Large L-shaped room with enclosed outdoors space at back. Only on street parking nearby. Ok facilities, nice enough place

A bit disappointing. Friends had raved about the food here before but a group of us went for a birthday roast yesterday and pretty much every one of us were unimpressed. Apparently they have a new chef so maybe they're ironing out teething problems but when it's overpriced compared the other places in Brighton (£4 for a Pepsi Max, then any add ons to the roast were £4/£5 each - a little bit much for some stuffing or crackling on top of the £15 basic roast), it's even harder to swallow than the dry bland food. Hopefully they'll work on the feedback.

Thomas Kemp is an amazing place if you either want to have a family dinner or just the two of you sitting down having a nice chat. The food is lovely , the staff are nice and the vibes are brilliant. I'm glad that its only a minute away from my house . I do recommend this place not just for its food , but for its atmosphere too.

Me and the pops went for lunch today, we both had a roast, my dad said it was the best pub roast he’s had in years! And I have to agree, we shared a lovely Eaton mess after but the best of it all was having table service today & most of all our cheeky little server he was lovely and made our afternoon great so thank you

A great selection of beer, a nice little garden and good food in a spacious pub that sits in a nice, generally quiet part of town. Bit off the beaten track but worth a detour, especially on a Sunday as this place does some of the best roasts in town. Only gripe is the staff have seemed a moody bunch the several times I've been in here but then I don't grudge anyone having a naff day at work.
