Absolutely brilliant burgers and fries and really friendly and helpful staff especially as I was being a pain in the ar$e. Flapping about as usual so I was. Deffo recommend and we will be back. Cheers everyone.

Very tasty food and great service!
We came back to try the food after a previous visit that did not go so well due to some system errors on the new QR system (now sorted) and this time the experience was top notch! The burgers are indulgently tasty and the sides also are so tasty, highly recommend getting Chilli Pops. The food was piping hot too! Recently moved to the area, and I think this pub will be somewhere I’ll be going quite a lot. No issues getting a table if you book and at certain times you can just walk right in too! Staff are very friendly too and service is quick from ordering.

Nice pub, good covid regulations, sit at table and scan a qr code for menu and order point, and drinks are delivered. Easy as that, nice selection on offer too

Been here a few times and it always seems to be busy. The main selling point of this pub is their outdoor seating (which is often all taken but is really nice and one of the few pubs in the town centre with a large outsdoor seating area). If you want a seat outside id suggest getting there before 7pm possibly earlier. The bar can be a bit slow and the security can be a bit over zealous. The toilets are a bit grotty (not sure about the ladies) ans it's a tight squeeze inside when full. The beer prices are a bit expensive but similar to other pubs in the same area.

The two staff last night (30/07/2020) went out of their way to accommodate us. We were a big group, split into 2 smaller groups of 5. They were really friendly found us a place outside where we could sit close to each other while still following the COVID policy of no more than 5 at a table. Cheers for a get eat night.

Amazing burgers, vegan or otherwise! They've adapted to the COVID-19 regulations very well in a way which keeps the service easy and swift. The online order process to avoid contact is actually really useful!

Decent burgers today. Decent selection of ales. My only points would be, the blue cheese on the wife's burger wasn't noticeable and you really have to time it here to not be rammed. (But that just reflects on the place being popular!) Happily revisit and recommend.

Mash Tun is always a great place to have a drink whether you want to have one after work or at the beginning of the night or if you want to finish your night there. What I especially like about Mash Tun is that I am an older gentleman and I get asked for ID multiple times when entering or asking for a drink making me feel young again lol.
The staff are always great with customers and even when their busy you will be able to get a drink.
Overall a great place to vibe at no matter what your age or when you need a drink if you are looking for a place to relax and chill at.

Good central pub. If you are part of a biggish crowd they might refuse service. Lots of seats outside if the cold never bothered you anyway.

Could be sooo much better. Great location, great vibe. The awful toilets make your eyes water due to the amonia (gross!!) and almost £6 for a pint in a plastic cup are a massive turn-off. There are much better pubs to drink in.

Popular student pub, with loads of seating inside and out. Not my favourite place to go, but that's just from personal taste. Good for a drink in the sun, or drinking for a night out. Also not the cheapest pint in town.

The mash tun promises very little and delivers a lot more. Their drink selection isn't the deepest but they've got the basics in place and they're served with a genuine smile. Their sunday roasts are fantastic with crazy portions. Thumbs up MT folk.

Good place to start the night (after go to Black Lion). Good crowd, same music every night, staff are quick to serve, bouncers are sensible. Upstairs sitting area that no-one seem to know about is rarely occupied

We bought several drinks after a business meeting, It was quite empty at the time... total probably £60 for two of us... my phone died, and there was an iPhone charger plugged in and dangling near the bar. They refused to help when I said that I needed to get a little charge- cause it is “against the rules to charge a phone behind the bar”, then even said they needed the charger for an iPod, but then charged a member of staffs phone.
It may seem trivial, but it shows they have no discretion or business sense, and do not care at all about their customers needs- plus bar staff work under blanket rules and no discretion.
Shabby pub in a good location- but take volume for granted.
Give another good local business a chance instead!

Had a great time in The Mash Tun. They have a huge selection of whiskies and the friendly and knowledgeable staff are very helpful with recommendations if you have no clue what to try. The food was hearty and very tasty. Would recommend trying the whisky pairings. We went on a Thursday evening when there was a lively pub quiz. Perfect way to spend an evening in Aberlour.

Really lovely pub/bar which is almost always packed to the brim. If there aren't people dancing on the tables it's not mash tun! Fairly cheap drinks for students and good staff/spaces. Not a huge fan of the security though ????
