Lovely beer garden! Craft beer selection is a little on the light side but think that might be due to the covid situation. Staff were incredibly friendly, would go back :)

Super friendly, fun, chill. Great selection and though we just stopped in to the beer garden for food, what we saw pass our table looked fab! Really excellent, smiley service.

The pub itself was nice. Ordered Ordered fish and chips and pie and chips. Fish and chips nice. Pie AWFUL. Raw pastry and an unpleasant broth for a filling. Staff member came out 3 times and never asked about untouched meal. As we were leaving we mentioned the pie wasnt nice and that I was leaving hungry - staff member said "oh bless, sorry about that." Bit taken aback by the lack of acknowledgement or offer to refund the meal...... 2nd time out for lunch since having my 11 month old - we won't be returning

Amazing roast dinner with interesting accompaniments - like the parsnip puree and beetroot gratin. Overall, so tasty! The vegan one was delicious too! About £20pp with a drink.

Nice environment but just had lunch there where we were one of only 2 tables and the service was shocking. One meal arrived after 10 minutes then a bowl of chips arrived 5 minutes later, finally followed by our drinks and then the other meals 15 minutes after that. The grain bowl we ordered was a cups worth of cous cous and about a spoon of mushed avocado. My £10 'pie' meal was tiny with a side salad that consisted of literally a few leaves and a chopped tomato. Coffee was delivered late and stone cold. Used to be standard pub grub that was worth the price but definitely will not be returning any time soon for anything other than a drink and that would be at a push.

Really good atmosphere, loads of space. Nice staff. My chicken was ok. But getting an earful from my grumpy veggie friend saying his burger was the worst he ever had, although he also had a good roast here though so take from that what you want. He likes the music, so at least they made him happy.

Great atmosphere even now with covid, they're getting their beer selection back up to standard. Good food and friendly staff.

Came in at lunchtime and had the chicken salad ciabatta and was very impressed. The bar tender Shannon brought me extra buffalo hot sauce over which went very well in my sandwich. Overall a very good experience and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes nice pubs.

This is a great local pub. Always busy when there's rugby on. Cozy in the winter and great selection of beers. Friendly staff. Haven't eaten here recently but everything I saw looked decent.

go to the exchange a fair bit pre lockdown and its never dissapointed before, however i booked a table on saturday for the Fa cup. Ordered 2 pints and some food and they sent all of it to the wrong table. The food was sent back to the kitchen but the other table happily took my pints. The food was finally given to me after asking for it (was completely cold)- the few members of staff that were available were extremely rude and actually walked away from me when i asked about the beers. They said it was my fault although the table i was sat at clearly was no.4. No pints given despite all of us ordering lots of food and drink. last time i will ever visit the exchange- all because the staff couldn't apologise for their mistake and pour 2 pints of beer. Never had someone in a hospitality venue be so rude and so unreasonable.

It most certainly is a local pub. Why? Because there is no way a tourist would find it. I only went as my daughter took me in there after recently buying her new home in the area. Great selection of Ales and Lagers at Non-London prices. A hidden gem :-)

Great staff, nice service, the drinks were cold and the nachos were tasty. For a price. I mean the place is great with a kind of gig venue vibe. But damn! It's expensive for where its situated. Blooming tasty nachos though XX

Offer child sized roast dinners for £8. Really delicious and tasty. You don't have to be a child to buy this size. Large roast dinners available too. Friendly staff, light bright interior dispite the black facade on the outside. It's s bit of a treasure.

Love this cool pub! The Sunday roast is absolutely delicious; with meat, vegetarian and vegan options. Attentive staff, helpful and friendly. Very cool seating with great art hanging on the walls . Dog friendly too!

Been in there a number of times over the last few years. It has a distinct atmosphere akin to a east end London pub.

No longer the best roast in Hove- such a shame as this was a real gem and did an incredible roast piled high with different veg and a large portion of meat, you used to have to book a table way in advance to get in on a sunday and they would sometimes run out of roast as they were so in demand. This Sunday i easily got a table and was shocked it was not packed like normal...now I know why, things have changed (im not sure if it has changed hands) but the legendary roast is no more. I was served a tiny bit of chicken, basic over cooked veg and had to send it back because it was cold. but on the plus side the toilets have been re vamped and it is a great local pub with cool art on the walls! I'm just gutted about the food.

Nice chilled vibe, large open plan seating area. Good selection of ales although nothing dark @ this visit :(. Polite, happy to help guy behind the bar sporting just the right amount of chipped nail varnish ????. Food available from £5 as well as regular music nights. The Exchange is deffently worth a regular visit!

It's just not my cup of tea. I don't like big open indoor spaces although I can understand why some people do. Good choice of alcohol and the food is excellent. Great place to meet up with groups of friends with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Nothing gluten free, the barman knew nothing about the wine and a large glass of rose cost £7.20 - I could have bought a (much better) bottle for that. The garden was potentially good but the tables were covered in empty glasses - one had at least twenty on. Not the most relaxing experience. Would not be good for wheelchair access if you wanted to sit in the garden

I come here for happy hour on Fridays after work and the staff are always friendly, the decor is cool, and it’s a great place to just relax and unwind after a long week. It does get busy Friday nights so would recommend booking a table if you have more than 3 people accompanying you.

Nice enough place. Large Relaxed. Not a traditional pub, more of a trendy relaxed vibe. I would definitely go back but not make a conscious effort to go there as it's a good few miles from mine.

Big and spacious place. Great artwork on the walls and good beer selection. Sunday Roast is on at the same time as football so can get a bit loud while you try to eat. They have a small kitchen and wait times during busy Sundays can be long.

Pleasant bar, drinks reasonably priced. Telly with sport on it for those who are into it, tucked away in a corner, unobtrusive to those of us who aren't. Music at a comfortable volume, conversation buzzing away merrily. The artwork on the walls is eccentric and interesting. I'll be back here for sure.
