They may not be the coolest kid on the block, and there is a hint of Grace Brothers about them, but old- fashioned gold-plated customer service is still their USP. They comped a camera repair they didn’t have to as it was a year past the already generous 2- year guarantee date included with most of their electrical products without me even having to put on a sad face. They are planning a multi-million pound renovation for this John Lewis flagship despite enormous losses as a result of the pandemic. I wish them luck, they deserve a break.

Excellent store in a good location opposite Sloane Square underground station. This is a high quality department store with a wide variety of goods for sale at decent prices. The staff are very helpful and provide excellent customer service.

Sales assistant treated me as if I was "infectious". I live in Chelsea and have been a loyal customer of Peter Jones for many many years and I was a big fun of Peter Jones until today. Unfortunately, first visit post lockdown was spoiled by one of the sales assistants treating me as if I was infectious as I touched some products. There was no obvious sign not to do so. If it is a company policy that shoppers cannot touch products, please make it clear enough!

My mum had the most terrible experience in the haberdashery department. She asked a member of staff for the price of an embroidery thread on the top shelf. The staff did not know the price and they called another lady over to help. She was a dark skinned lady with short black hair and glasses. She appeared to be a manager as she was the only one without a name tag on. My mum then asked the price of the item. The lady started going through all of the prices of the bottom shelf working her way up. I don’t think she was sure of the price herself. My mum didnt understand what the price of the particular item she wanted was and asked again pointing at it. The lady again started going through all the prices from the bottom shelf up in a patronising way and my mum couldn't hear from her mask on with all these prices being thrown at her. So my mum asked again what is the price of this particular one, pointing at it again. The lady shouted at my mum the price! Even though it was still the wrong price. If the staff do not know the price they should admit and not to confuse the customer and then shout at her infront of the other staff. My mum came out of the shop crying as a result. She now has a terrible experience of Peter Jones. The company’s automated phone service speaks about kindness and respect in the store but this particular member of staff did not show that and made my mum cry. The staff should be trained on knowing prices but most importantly showing respect to their customers. This is unacceptable!

What an excellent department store with friendly staff and modest range of products. Sometimes you just need to see what you are buying and see the entire collection from different brands. We are giving 5 stars because it is an enjoyable experience to look around!

The best department store in London, where the sales assistants actually have knowledge of the products they sell, (a rarity in retail now a days) 10 out of 10

One of Boris Johnson's mistresses has described the home & decoration products as a 'nightmare', but they're perfectly acceptable for the hoi polloi. Wetnursed bloviators and their lovers excepted, most people will find there's some nice stuff here.

We stopped by to look for a new TV. They have a huge selection of the latest models on display with specialists present from each brand to give personal advice. Competitive prices, friendly staff and an excellent warranty. Perfect.

An old fashioned type of department store that has an emphasis on home furnishing, soft goods, textiles etc but also sells clothing and electronics. Has a reputation for great prices "We will not be undersold" (although that is changing now) and good customer service. This location has a very pleasant cafeteria on the top floor. A good place to meet up with friends. withfriends.

Visited for the Open House London 2019 tour. Great tour guide who normally works there. Highlight was the view from the roof! A great view of the Mary Poppins style chimney pots! Interesting information about the history. Also a great place to enjoy a cup of tea and scone!

Peter Johns is a great example of an Art Deco architecture of 1930s. Great variety of good and products available. The staff were not 100% friendly but not exactly rude either. The cafe on the top floor is a must see when in Chelsea!

Terrible customer service downstairs within the kitchen appliances department. John Lewis online customer service via email AND twitter not much help either. Purchased a Simple Human dish drainer which had broken and has been discontinued. Online customer service told me to go to the store, once I store staff not very understanding or helpful. Long entrance queue - COVID related

It is always a pleasure to shop in Peter Jones with the way the store is laid out and the Partners who demonstrate excellent Customer Service. I bought my son a pair of grey trousers in the sale which I believe that he will like. I would recommend Peter Jones to anyone looking for good quality items.

Peter Jones and Partners, Is Like John Lewis & Partners Little Brother, But Don't Be Fooled, Its Not Little At All, 6 Beautiful Well Laid Out Floors Of Shopping, With Wonderful Helpful Staff (Known As Partners) all Willing To Help. A wonderful top floor restaurant and pretty good social distancing measures. I love shopping here, and I always get the help I need when I need it, all without a quibble. My only wish would be that there would be a foodhall here same as john lewis oxford Street and also more lifts! Overall however a wonderful place to shop and visit and browse with top notch staff in a top notch area.

Today, I had a terrible customer experience a Peter Jones in Sloane Square. I've been a client of Peter Jones for over 30 years. I bought Belkin wireless earbuds and I could not pair them. I went back to the shop to replace them, and not to get a refund. To my surprise, the shop assistant told me that it was not possible to exchange anything as the packet has been opened. I pointed out that I did not put the earbud on my ear as I could not pair them, but how was I supposed to know they did not work if I did not open the packet? Reluctantly, he tried to pair the earbuds, and after 20 minutes he managed to pair them on his phone, but not on my phone. Still refusing to exchange my earbuds, I asked to speak to his manager. The manager came around, and started antagonising every I was saying. He insisted that the problem was my phone. However, he also tried to pair the earbuds to my phone for another 15 minutes but he could not do it. Although the earbuds were working on one phone, clearly, they were faulty. The manager finally decided (after 40 minutes of wasted time) to exchange them for a different model (Sony WI-XB400) that I asked for. All this saga for the sake of £10 difference. I've now paired the replaced earbuds with my phone within 2 minutes. Obviously, the problem was not my phone but the faulty earbuds. If you read all the bad reviews on Google and TripAdvisor, there's a pattern of disgruntled clients who all say basically the same thing: Peter Jones's customer service is now really bad, especially on the electrical department, and most of the time they are refusing to refund. Ironically, that used to be their main strength! Peter Jones has lost another good client.

Service was great from start to finish, I made a product enquiry online for a fan due to the excessive heat. Within half an hour I received a phone call, whilst I couldn’t take it - a voicemail was left with all the details required, the product reserved for me, details about the reservation number, where to pick it up from and how long I had to collect it. An absolute pleasure to shop in here. Great initiative and common sense used by the staff!

Outstanding customer service when a product needed fixing. Small delay due to the recent pandemic as to be expected but assistant was apologetic and dealt with the issue straight away backed up by an email of confirmation.Thank you for being polite, professional and competent. Highly recommended!

I bought a Cross cut shredder in July 2019 with a 2 year guarantee from John Lewis. I phoned JL yesterday to say it wasn't working. One phone call and the next day a replacement was waiting for me at a local Waitrose, and a bonus of £10 because it is now £10 cheaper than when I bought it! What brilliant service!

I treat my self to a very expensive iPad cover at Peter Jones . I was the apple cover with keypad.£200 It is now September and the thing is falling apart . The rubber surface is disintegrating. I returned it to Peter Jones tech support time be told that it is far west and tear . 7 months old and still Within the guarantee period. I was shocked and horrified at their response. No wonder John Lewis is on its way out with hat customer service. AVOID PETER JONES I feel they are getting desperate and their good reputation for customer service is taking the hit

Completely appalled by the lack of assistance or help I received in trying to resolve an issue with an TV that has now been going on for a month. Staff appeared disinterested and unhelpful, despite me explaining I have spent in excess of five hours on hold trying to speak to someone about the resolution of the issue. There is no clarity of who to speak to, no one seems to know what is going on, and no one knows what the resolution is. I appreciate these are challenging times but I and have had no communication in any form from the company, I am the one who appears to doing all the leg work, even having to speak to the repair contractors in person to find out what is happening! Terrible service, terrible aftercare, terrible communication - would seriously advise against making any large electrical purchases from the company.

Peter Jones (John Lewis), Place to Eat Restaurant. The food is the usual reliable John Lewis fare: traditionally British based with good vegetarian options. The food is my opinion is of better quality than the hot beverages. The highlight of the restaurant is the spectacular view of London's skyline. Relaxed atmosphere set around an atrium. The alternative eatery can be found on the second floor. The Cafe Bar by Benugo has a little more flair and has a more contemporary, trendy feel than the Place to Eat Restaurant upstairs. The food is of a more Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavour. It also offers Happy Hour deals from 3 pm daily consisting of an alcoholic beverage such as a cocktail plus a snack. A great view of Sloane Square can also be found from sitting in this cafe/bar. A fabulous place to people watch!
