Lovely restaurant, comfortable seating, fabulous staff, service & the food was delish, plentiful, well presented & the fillet steak we were still talking about it the next day, the best I've had! Followed by profiteroles and liqueur coffees. Highly recommend this lovely Bistro.

Lovely restaurant. Went there for my partners birthday and despite everything being a little quieter in Brighton at the moment, the service and food were great and we were well looked after. Definitely go here!

My cousin & I stumbled into il bistro on Saturday evening. They found us a lovely table even though we hadn't booked. My cousin has some complex food intollerances our waiter (who I believe was the owner) spent a long period of time discussing her needs, he made alterations to a couple of dishes for her, the food was exquisite.
Thank you and well done il bistro, would highly recommend this lovely little place where they make all their customers feel important.

Lovely little place in the heart of the lanes, gorgeous food, very hospitable irish owner, we chatted for ages. Funny bloke! Thoroughly enjoyed it and great value for money. Steak was outstanding, as was the chicken & goats cheese. Let's face it... the way to a girls heart is a free limoncello at the end of the meal ????

We ended up here by chance having never been before. Will definitely be making this one of our favourites. The 2 and three course lunch menus were a lovely suprise from the usual choices. For starter mum and I had the spinach pancakes in a prawn and cheese sauce. Main for me was a whole grilled trout superbly cooked. Dessert was a really excellent cream caramel. The portions were generous. The staff were friendly and attentive. A total delight on a rainy day ???? well went for a return visit and once again excellent service and food, on a cold Friday lunchtime we were grateful for warmth and the comfy seats.

Thank you for being so accommodating to a person with the coeliac's disease. It's difficult to find places that are so helpful. I had the most wonderful breakfast plate of poached eggs, bacon, spinach and mushrooms, all delicious and all gluten free without cross-contamination.

Warm, friendly welcome at this lovely restaurant. My sister and I shared a starter of crepe with prawns and spinach. I had a chicken fillet from the special board for my main. Beautifully cooked - blue cheese and mushroom sauce, tasty and not overpowering. Highly recommend.

Went here for a lunch after shopping in the lanes. Great place to eat and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend as 2 of us ate 2 courses with drinks for less than 40.00. Will be back next time in Brighton.

Lovely little restaurant with friendly staff. We managed to get a table without booking but it got pretty full so we were lucky. The food was delicious; I had pork belly on a bed a mash and it was a very generous helping. I will definitely go there again

We really enjoyed the meal, the service and the atmosphere. The building has and old wonky low ceiling beamed charm to it. Staff are amazing, attentive, friendly and don't refrain from banter. Great food, zero complaints about anything from us. Will definitely be back here in future.

Went here for a valentines dinner and mate. That was genuinely the most tender juicy steak I've ever had. It isn't the cheapest place to eat but worth every single penny. The service is very good and the waiters are attentive. 10/10

Great meal and if you order from the set menu it's great value. The options on the set menu were actually quite good considering. Had some lovely lamb chops and the banoffee pie was incredible. Great, friendly service staff. More than happy to leave a tip.

My boyfriend and I booked a table last weekend in this restaurant based on all the good reviews it had and we were not disappointed. It is a lovely family owned restaurant with delicious food. Everyone was really welcoming the food was delicious and the price didn’t kill us ! I would highly recommend.

Lovely location, away from the main hussle and bustle of the busy areas, nice outdoor seating and fantastic service, probably one of the best in Brighton! Unfortunately, food is average, good but nothing I couldn't make better at home. The steaks have no seasoning and are fried when they should be grilled. Sauces are lovely, and so are the drinks. The fish croquetes were average too. The prawn Civiche was more boiled prawns with lemon juice and seasoning, which was nice but not a ceviche.
The service though just blows this restaurant away, really nice people!

Chicken with blue cheese was delicious. Pork risotto was ok. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was beautiful and cozy. 2nd time in the restaurant and would definitely visit again.

We really enjoyed this place, the chef knows his stuff, cooked the steak and lamb to perfection, exactly the way we requested, the sauces we ordered were delicious. Service was very helpful and kind.

Can't remember the last time I've been to a resturant where the all round experience was as outstanding as this in terms of the service, decor, food, everything! The fish goujons where crisp, yet soft in the middle, and the fish tasted very fresh. In terms of the mains the chicken breast was tender and thr sauce and vegetables were on point without being over powering. Service was very welcoming and friendly. Could not recommend this place enough!!

Good service! Reasonably priced! Questionable playlist, although towards the end of the meal (and one large glass of wine) it got much better. Starters were decent. Main (fish and chips) was good.
