Had hernia surgery at the Nuffield, all the staff, nurses and doctors were outstanding. Pre-op assessment so reassuring and admission was faultless.Covid precautions were exemplary. My surgeon Mr Jeddy was great as were his team. Would recommend the Nuffield without question.

Split review: 1 Star for Admin team, but 5 star for clinical staff. 1 Star for Parking. Consultants, nurses and other clinical staff are always spot on, very professional, friendly and knowledgeable, but the appointments and telephony systems and some personnel are shocking. You can never get through when you need an appointment and calls are rarely returned. Admin and Reception teams need investment, improvement and customer service training. On the clinical side, cannot rate Sascha Dua and Ravi Ray high enough - totally exceptional. Highly recommended.

Pretty poor unfortunately. I booked an appointment with a consultant and was told it would cost £150. The day before my appointment, the consultant's private secretary called me and asked me for £250. Needless to say I cancelled. Apparently the hospital should never give out details on costs and they must have untrained staff working there. Shambles!

Had two appointments booked in. The first was 45 mins late with no explanation as to why, and the second was 30 mins late as the consultant had me down as a no show even though I was waiting in the reception having checked in, given my credit card details and signed their COVID policy which was timed 5 mins before my appointment time. Then my appointment felt rushed.

Paid £580 for head CT, forget customer service this was by far the worst treatment i have ever received from a hospital. I was told that the results would be emailed to my doctor by reception after they had taken my payment they even confirmed the email address. No results days later so contacted them and was told that they only post the results. What a great idea to post something so important when there are so many issues with post right now. Just hoping there is nothing serious on my CT.

Professional treatment delivered by a caring team in a nice hospital. Poor time management on one visit. Attended the hospital at 7 am on a Saturday morning for a 20 minute procedure not undertaken until the afternoon.

Parking at this Hospital is a joke. If you are considering using this Private Hospital for surgery I would reconsider if you expect to be able to visit your loved one, stress free and during the day. Nuffield need to address Parking at this site! That said, the staff are fantastic, can't fault them, it's just the logistical and facilities aspect that massively lets them down. Listen up Management!

Couldn't be looked after better. All the staff gave personal care and made sure that I was comfortable before, during, and after my operation.

Attended Nuffield Health Hospital in Brentwood today for a surgical procedure. Both the surgeon Mr Hani Ertemi, the anaesthetist, theatre staff, nurses and all other staff I encountered were excellent and provided excellent care. I cannot fault any aspect of my treatment or care and would like to thank all those involved.

For somebody who has been in & out of hospitals for the past 10 years (either for myself or family); The degree of cleaning, timing and comfort is a standard beyond what I expected. The pre-op nurse, anaesthetist, ward nurse, catering staff, hygiene, each and everything was incredibly Impressive and I couldn't have asked for more. I am so grateful for my experience and appreciate how privileged I felt as a patient. Thank you to all the amazing team.

Appalling and illegal behaviour. Staff refusing to give prices for most of services, blaming the insurance provider. When given price for one service - charged twice as much for it plus the fee for the doctor who carried out the procedure, lucky I didn't have to pay separate for each nurse who was in the room... Will be taking legal action against this hospital.

Didn't bother getting back to them took 15 mins for someone to answer the phone, a not very forth coming person on the other end of the phone, not helpful at all! I went to Spire Hartswood in the end my god what a comparison! Can't fault them at all! First impressions is always important, sort it out Nuffield!

Very poor customer service. I requested a price for a diagnostic scan via their website. 11 days later I received the following reply: "Due to the current circumstances, no surgery, new consultations or diagnostics will be carried out in the foreseeable future." I'll take my business elsewhere.

Parking is a problem. Just got fined £100 for parking for 20 mins in their own car park and no signs were prominent to say you had to pay

Very nice private hospital. Always a bit of a struggle with parking so you may have a little wait. Staff are very friendly and the hospital is very clean. They also have complimentary drinks on offer.

Chose Nuffield as an NHS patient. Some staff were caring others dismissive, but the fact is that the Nuffield rent the facilities to the NHS and despite all assurances once you are out of the door you are not their concern. I was told to go to A&E a few days after surgery and totally immobile with severe inflammation, rather than see the surgeon (as the surgeon himself had specifically advised) or a Nuffield practictioner as stated in their own literature given to me. Even my GP was angry at being told over the phone "it's not our responsibility" even though the discharge letter to the GP stated quite clearly the Nuffield should be contacted for follow up to keep the surgical team informed . Asked many times to speak to someone in authority, before surgery to ask about discharge home care arrangements ,and post op- promised but never fulfilled. Made complaint but NHS-Nuffield coordinator effectively said that they only looked at complaints whilst the patient was actually in their hospital and not after discharge, even though the complaint was about treatment during the stay. My advice, go to Basildon NHS or Spire.

Had an appointment today at 9am for my daughter Sophie (3yrs), it was our first consultation and first time we’d been to the clinic. After being sent to numerous places we finally reach the correct area. We waited until 9:15 to be informed by the nurse, they would like to measure Sophie’s height and weight for the doctor. A further 15 minutes later we are still waiting for our appointment, when we finally get called to a room to speak with the doctor (Dr D Krishnakumar) on the phone to discuss another booking because the doctor had not turned up and was working at another site. Apparently the error falls to the booking team and there were a number of others who where effected by this, but given how we had rearranged Sophie’s preschool and my wife and I work to get this timely appointment, I feel this is extremely tardy and my confidence in future appointments has been taken a hit. From out experience so far I would not recommend because, we chose this clinic out of convenience over NHS waiting times by which time we would have been seen anyway.

Currently about to leave after Breast surgery on Friday completed by the most amazing professor and his team. I can’t fault anything about the service received here. Staff from start to finish have been amazing nothing had been too much trouble. I have been treated and cared for as a truly individual person. The food is amazing too - just too much of it!

The receptionist that answered my call was so rude, i was inquiring about a phone call I was expecting from them as it’s been longer than I was told It would be and all they told me was that I’ll be rung when my name comes up but she didn’t ask for any of my details or anything so for all I know i might not even be on there system

The contact process is ridiculous. The receptionists are always incredibly rude and abrupt. Upon being transferred to the correct department, it's extremely rare to get through, usually the call then goes through to voicemail. Leaving voicemails seems pointless as they seldom call back. Extremely frustrating process. I am also due to come in for surgery next week, having had my pre-op assessment on 23 October, I thought I was good to go. That said I have not yet received any confirmation letter or instructions, and worryingly I have just had a call to book my pre-op assessment. Total lack of communication.

Having just moved away from the East London Essex area this was our first visit to the Brentwood Nuffield for out patients. We saw a wonderful doctor in the orthopaedic section. Very thorough and caring. Unfortunately our first visit to this hospital was marred by poor information on arrival. Although the receptionist I encountered insists that she passed on the correct information to me this simply was not done efficiently if indeed at all. On arrival I said,’ are we in the right place for outpatients’ I was given a form to fill-in and told to sit down. When I returned the form to another receptionist it was simply accepted. At no point was I told that outpatients was in a different area hence we sat in the small entry reception for 40 minutes until somebody had the sense to come and find us . I will give the reception staff the benefit of the doubt, perhaps they did tell me, but as a new patient we were anxious and a little confused about where to go. Surely at some point in the 40 minutes we were there, reception staff should have seen that we were still sitting in the same place by the coffee machine. Did they think we’d come out for Starbucks? These staff need to take a leaf from the book of more professional establishments like Holly in Buckhurst hill or the Spire Roding. I am also concerned about what would’ve happened if indeed the information was imparted but I didn’t have a good command of English. This has given us a very negative opinion of the hospital and certainly the inefficiency of their administrative team on reception. I must point out however that the appointments department were outstanding and very very helpful. It seems to me that the reception staff are more concerned about telling you to imput your registration number, which I did, rather than give clear instructions of where you should be sitting and where you should check in. This is probably a very good hospital. I hope we do not have to return but at least now I know where I should be sitting !

I left The Nuffield two weeks ago after a total knee replacement, the hospitality staff, nurses and doctors, physio staff could not be kinder, they did everything to put me at ease and make my stay very comfortable, and virtually pain free, I cannot fault any one of them and wouldn’t hesitated to recommend this hospital.

I have just returned home from a total hip replacement. I was anxious but the staff put me at ease immediately. About the staff, they are absolutely fabulous. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything was done enthusiastically and whenever my visitors arrived they were offered tea or coffee. They have an in house doctor named Vladimir, he recognised that the drugs I was prescribed were ineffective against the pain I was experiencing, changed the meds and within 3 hours I was learning to walk again with the brilliant in house physios. I can't recommend this place highly enough. ALL STAFF, from housekeeping to surgeons work brilliantly as one team. Thank you Nuffield Health for the care you gave me.

I would give 5 stars to the medical teams but had to drop 1 star because the reception staff are awful to deal with. The first time I visited I thought it was an off day but by the 5th visit I knew it was their usual manner. The lead receptionist snaps at her co workers in front of patients, intuits what the patient is going to say and answers the question before you finish speaking and without making eye contact. Generally, I think they behave with impatience as if patients are an unwanted disturbance. As the front of house for a fantastic medical team, they let them down with a snotty, unfriendly and dismissive attitude to people arriving for appointments with worries on their minds. I would personally go elsewhere just to avoid them if there was a choice nearby.

My wife was treated there. That was just terrible!! Staff not trained. To have a tea of food I had to go and keep asking them as nobody was care. They couldn't take a blood properly, they didn't know how to make IV! When she was back from the theater there were numbers of air bubbles and nurse can't see a problem. When I pointed, she started making a backflush buy pushing bubbles back with the blood from vein! However, when anesthesiologist (he was the only one who comming to us) saw it, he told that IV wasn't necessary and he didn't know why and what for it was fitted. The guy, who was taking a blood sample, after several unsuccessful attempts offered to punch him in a face!! what an idiot!!. The surgeon, Dr. Masood, came one hour later and disappeared right after operation and staff didn't know what to do. He was not answering on his mobile or SMS, nobody knew if he was still in hospital or out. They didn't know if we had to stay overnight or go home and which medicine had to be given (if any). But the worse was that they put infection everywhere they only could and my wife had to take two courses of a strong antibiotics to clear it out. It is almost four months after operation but she is still suffering. I reported all these nonsense to Administrator, June White. She was listening and making notes. She promissed to investigate and send us a letter but looks like she forgot immediately after we left her clinic. I would recomend to stay away from these vets especially if you sent there from NHS

Everyone's nice except for the receptionists, I don't think I could be more polite when speaking to them and its like they're angry that you called to just to ask them a question or if you forgot the consultant's name they get frustrated with you.
