Food is good and quite reasonably priced here.
A good place for a quick lunch of pasta or pizza. All freshly made, but gets busy quickly at lunch times and so it can take a while to get served.
Get there just before midday if you can.

Freshly made italian food literqlly cooked while you are standing there. It might sound lazy but after a long day of work, with decently spaced seating area. Food is amazing ..decently priced and portions usually are large..great place to hang out!!

I was not at all a pasta lover until having pasta from here. Jut loved it. Lot of options and varieties. They will make the dish right before us. We can tell the add ons extra things. Usually it is crowded at the peak times. It is spacious as well. Ideal for a small team lunch or dinner. As it is near to the millenium bridge, thames path , can relax after the delicious taste. Welcome Pasta and pizza lovers!

The food was super delicious and fresh, lovely portions. I was disappointed with the service, I was in line for pasta for 20 minutes and I had a customer walk to the front of the line, ask a question and order. I was very disappointed that the staff didn't tell them to line up like everyone else. When I informed staff of my disappointment they said nothing, I was very suprised how much they didn't care. So I think the system in place needs a little work but the food was fabulous.

Loads of choice, great wines and you can pick and choose exactly what you do and don't want added. Tastes fantastic and they cook it right in front of you, so you know exactly what's going into it and it's hot and cooked fresh.

Nice environment, quite a bit of space, can’t fault the staff, quick meal.
However food leaves a lot to be desired - particularly the pasta. The sad excuse of a meatball marinara tasted of uncooked onions, the meatballs were dry and dense, and the penne pasta I chose tasted worse than supermarket own brand.
Pizza was ok, edible.

The service was questionable didn't get handed any menus or even spoken to through the whole experience the last vapianos I went to we got table service this one none! Also the chef's went a bit mad whilst we were there not a nice dining experience.... Food was nice though

Fantastic Place, lovely staff, great yummy pastas, sadly that day no pizza! So full took our leftover in pretty packs but ended up giving it away to an homeless guy by the King's College Campus. So everyone was happy. Thank you Vapiano!!

A really good place to eat and hang out with friends, family or a date. The food is freshly made in front of you and is nothing short of delicious. There is a selection of pizza options, pastas and salads as well as great drink choices. I highly recommend the Chicken Alfredo or the Gamberetti e Spinachi if you're not sure where to start!

We had very high expectations while selecting this place for dinner with friends. We ordered pizzas and pastas. The food was pretty average. The sauces dint seem to mix very well. On the positive side the ambience is good and the place is huge. It's kind of self service and you got to get a card to start your order. Overall the place was pretty noisy for a Friday evening when we went. In central London you should be able to find many more nice places, for this budget.

Visited Saturday afternoon with my 2 sons. Really good service was a clean and spacious venue. Toliets were really clean also. Drinks were a bit expensive. They didn't really give kids anything to do whilst us parents went to get the food from the self pick up area. Food was fresh and tasty. Only thing they don't give were big enough glasses for the water machine. Decent Italian food without the heavy price tag. Good for families

First off, a very large establishment with good lighting in the day, due to the all glass exterior!
It is somewhat unusual in terms of the system for ordering, whereby you are given a 'NFC' card that you scan when getting your food made. This stores your order to the card which you pay at the end before leaving.
The queues were pretty large, around a 20 minute wait to order your food at 12.30ish on a Thursday.
There's no real system in terms of communicating that you'll need to pick up a food tray, collect your cutlery and napkins prior to seating yourself. Seemed a bit slapdash to me, but perhaps it's because they were busy.
The food itself was very nice and a decent portion size. I think it's a good place for very small groups, we were in a large group so not ideal. Some people had eaten their food by the time others sat down.
A solid 3 stars.

We usually go to vapiano in Germany for their excellent gluten free pasta and pizza. However in the UK no such choices exist. We left again very disappointed... Vapiano, please align your most important menu choices among different countries!

Exceeded expectations. Was not sure about the setup but works well and there was plenty of seating when I went after work but have been told it can be very busy. You might have to queue up to get your food but it is cooked in front of you exactly the way you like. Very tasty and will go back to try something else.

Great place for a quick meal. You are given a card and you go to different food stations and order what you like, tap the card in a machine they have, and pay at the exit after you are done eating. They have a nice and wide selection of pastas, pizzas, salads, desserts and drinks to choose from.

The food was nice enough but there was a long wait time for pizzas and I'm afraid I just don't like the concept. I think I'm just not the target audience.
Firstly, unless you've been before you have to ask someone how it works!
You try and grab a table (communal) and then have to queue for a chef to cook your food to order in front of you while you wait.
If you're paranoid about what goes into your meal, maybe this is for you - or if you're dining alone perhaps.
However, instead of relaxing with my partner while we waited for food to arrive like normal, they were queueing for ages and I was sat on my own trying to keep them a space at a table!
Not a relaxing dining experience at all. Also, they were estimating over 30 minutes for a pizza. These are usually done to order in about 10 minutes at other local places.

The food is good but that is where it ends. It starts with 45 minutes queueing for your food. There is no customer service. It was a terrible experience and I strongly recommend not to go. Further more it is extremely wasteful. They individually wrap portion sizes of pasta into paper, film window bags, along with portions of chicken in individual plastic bags. Where the rest of the world are trying to find ingenious ways to cut down on waste, Vapiano are creating new and pointless ways to waste more.

Large self service restaurant with different italian food stations to choose from. All food cooked fresh on order.
Your orders get put in a card that you get at reception so you pay at the till later for what you have had. This is a great idea for groups as everything is split and no issues when paying the bill.
Having to visit the stations for food will have to make you to decide that is best and it can take a whole to decide and get the food if there is a q.
If you are coming with a family with kids it might be best to order all food for the same station so you can all eat together otherwise the dishes will arrive at different times and food will be cold.
The brand has branches all over the world and your food experience can differ a lot depending on the chef you get so it is a little bit of a Russian roulette.
Over all it it was ok but I think there are choices in the area with more competitive prices.

Used to be really good but the queueing system doesn’t really work anymore, chefs just taking their time, waiter / waitress service is just better. Waited over 50 minutes to get a pasta dish, in a queue of 5 people!

Quite fast for a busy restaurant. The food is amazing and service is brilliant. They have everything ready to go and never have to make anything last minute. Being an Italian food lover, I can say that this has exceeded my expectations. I had the spaghetti Bolognese and everything was cooked the right amount and there were equal amounts of everything. It tasted delicious I am very pleased with Vapianos as you can probably tell, the only thing I thought bad was that the spaghetti was a bit hard (not overcooked hard or something like that) maybe it's just because it was fresh. Can't wait to go back again :) :) :)
