Freshly cooked pasta directly in front of you is still a novelty each time I visit. As a result expect to wait a while. Probably skip if you are in a rush and expecting fast food. Better to hold off until you have plenty of time to enjoy the experience. It is worth it after all. Top tip - don't be tempted to switch pasta queues, you'll end up waiting longer a they all move consistently well.

Good quality food, I do not agree at all with the rithms their personnel at cooking fires are required to endure..that even brings mistakes like salting twice the boiling waters so that all the pasta cooked there goes automatically ruined.. But you don't complaint cause you SEE these guys are doing their best and that is a management problem.. So.. It is a big NO for this. The recipes are Italian reviewed so no strictly Italian. The overall quality of the chain is good

Brilliant place to come for lunch/dinner with friends. Excellent choice of fresh pasta and pizza along with other Italian specials.
This branch is less crowded and busy than its sister branch near Oxford Circus

Food was fine, but one lady that works there was very rude like she didn’t even want to take our order and then put in the wrong salad and even though I told her she typed in
the wrong one she persisted that she put in the right one. luckily her colleague was nicer and saw that it was the wrong one and corrected it :)

A regular of mine in central London. Easy to access and once you're in you just take your card up and they swipe it for you as you choose your Italian food. The pizzas and all the mains are lovely. Gummi bears on the reception also a great little extra

Really nice place with lots of space. Unfortunately it gets really noisy cause of the extraction and the people talking over it.
Outside is good but there is some extraction fan noise as well.
Once you get their cards you need to pay before going out which does not make much sense when they have an outdoor space.
Otherwise good food staff are nice and helpful.

First time visited after hearing a lot of my friends and family always going in about this place, must I say it was just as lovely experience as everyone describe it to be!
You get given a card as you enter the restaurant. You walk over to the counter where you are served by the chef, you order your food and they make it for you as you wait. Once the order is complete you scan the card so your order is registered. Once you finish eating, you take your card to the till near the exit, they scan that card and you then pay for your food. The restaurant itself looks very nice an can get very very busy so do look out for a quiet moment if you don’t have patience!
*For the people who only eat halaal meat, please note that only the chicken is halaal*

Great food, fresh, cooked in front of you.
Keep in mind that peak times will be busy and you will queue for a while, but remember that when you normally order a meal you have to wait for it to be cooked.
So don't be put off by the queue just get in it and then decide what you want

If you haven’t been when you enter you’re given a card and menu and allowed to sit where you like. Once you’ve decided you line up for the chef to make your order (which is recorded on the card). Once you’ve finished your meal, at the end you give the card to the reception to pay.
The staff are always so friendly! I always love coming here because the food is so good and made just how you like it (extra chillis all the way). The black tea peach vanilla is my favourite drink there.
The food (chicken and beef) is halal. Vegan and vegetarian options available.

This is a decent Vapiano - obviously part of the larger chain - this restaurant offers nothing different in style or menu from any of it's other branches, but the location is good being only minutes from Tate Modern, it's great for a quick lunch or for a later evening meal. There are plenty of places to sit and the food is always good. They do deliver from this location, but I wouldn't recommend that: the pasta stays warm(ish) but their particular style of ultra thin pizzas do not travel well.

Been here a fair amount of times and typically enjoyed how quickly and tasty the chefs make the food and how nice the rest of the staff are. Unfortunately last night went in around 9pm 2 hours before closing and the host was just miserable (would’ve been ok had she not make us leave sooner than later) towards the end of us eating she was simply rude, she walked over to the to our table at 10pm and specifically said ‘you do know we are closing in half an hour’. It was ironic as there were still 4 lines of people waiting to order food. Being told the place closes in a half hour when there still an hour to go is not acceptable. Normally a great place to have a quick, simple pasta or pizza -ruined by the host/manager. Would only recommend if you ‘want’ to take that risk at encountering a host/manager on their bad day.

The food is good and freshly made in front of you to your own preference. Normally I always enjoy the ambiance with goos company. But on this occasion the background music was too loud! We asked for it to be reduced but in the end we took the food away as I felt like I was in a rave.. I will go back again as this has not been a problem in the past, so hopefully not in the future too.

This place offers very yummy food and does not disappoint you. Can have a wait time of 30-40 mins on busy days but that’s worth and includes waiting to get to food queue and then getting your food made. Finding a table can be a struggle too on busy days. But it’s worth it.

The food is good( doesn’t mean it’s healthy my pesto pasta was considerably oily) , the atmosphere is lovely, I would say this Vapiano has good management and good service. I deducted one star because the music was very loud I was struggling to have a conversation with my friends ( but again there are not many quiet restaurants in London)

It's good but not amazing. Decent food with good prices. It's more about the experience as you can pick what pasta you want and it's being cooked in front of you so everything is fresh. I do recommend it at least once as it's not your tipycal restaurant.

The food is not bad at all, but I dislike the concept which is complicated and somewhat burdensome for the client (you get a token and then have to queue to get your food, and then pay whatever you had at the exit). It is just not a value proposition, especially compared to a decent Italian restaurant with reasonably fast service.

We had dinner at the Bankside with family. The food was absolutely wonderful and The service was excellent us usual. We have been to all branches in London and this is my favourite site. Everything was just wonderful and we had a great time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Most importantly I would like to thanks to the managers and supervisors Marta, Tes and Gerardo.

First time going in over a year and it's just as good or perhaps even better seeing as I went early this time. The menu has been redone and the additions are welcomed with clear marking for vegetarian and other choices. If you have £15 and some time to sit and cherish your meal, you can't go wrong here

Employee didn’t seem to care. Ordered 2 aglio e olio’s and they barely had olive oil so they we’re quite dry and sticky. They also didn’t add any chili. The one in Soho is much better.

The staff is friendly and the tables are clean which is good. BUT have you seen the grease drops hanging down the ansul pipe above every single pasta station. It takes a long time for it to condense that much and makes me wonder how long you guys don't clean the kitchen.
It's right above the cookers and probably drips into people's food.
Will visit again, but only for pizza or salad

Normally I stay away from such places, but I was persuaded and I'm sure glad I was. The experience from start to finish was eye opening and mouth watering. A very efficient way of getting quality food to the consumer efficiently, making for easy transition whether you want to sit and chill or are on a break. An almost serve yourself type deal, your given a plastic card on entry then proceed to look at the menus lined around the order taking and preparation area, once decided you place your order and scan your plastic card to put the order onto it, you then wait and watch your food appear and 3 2 1 it's ready to go. They have a large array of seating options from chilled sofa style, to typical restaurant tables and even fast food style high chair and counters. A very open and spacious venue. Staff super helpful and polite. Clean as a whistle and reasonably price. Food flavour is worth boasting about, the tomato soup and Caesar salad was enough to fill me up, but the pizza just broke me. Once your done you proceed to a station before the exit and you scan your plastic card so you pay only for what you eat, great for groups. And to finish up grab some free gummy bears.

Probably the best pasta I've ever had. We went there for a quick lunch. It wasn't that quick since this place is really popular however it was definitely worth the wait.
Really affordable food, gigantic portions and enough space so that you can go with your team for a Friday treat. If you can't finish it they can put it in their own branded take away box which in my opinion is a nice touch.

Loved this place. It's So interesting. On arrival your given a card, (which must be submitted) when you place your food/beverage order. You decide which pasta you want and the accomplishment to be added to it. You decide which Chef is going to cook your meal and he does in front of you. You get the meal how you like it, (with Chile oil and Parmesan cheese). At the end you hand over your card and the meal amount is put onto your card.
The meal was hot, delicious and very tasty.
At the end of our meal we handed over our card and paid the amount.
Would definitely come here again. Portions a little small but price ok, £9.50 for the experience.

The food and portions were generous ,but the whole concept is frankly ridiculous. It was my first visit , I was in a group of 14 people. Had no idea how it worked until I read the front of the menu. So I got in one of several queue's , then had to leave the queue to get a glass of wine while waiting and wait we did a staggering half hour of standing whilst we could have been sitting comfortably with our friends talking . I waited so long I left the queue again at ( needed the loo ) had I not asked the person behind me to keep my place I would have waited even longer . One friend had rissito and garlic bread and waited longer than I did ,I would say easy 45 minutes.why on earth they just don't do table service is beyond me . So in a nutshell ,if there are 3, 5 or 7 people in front of you each dish taking at least 5 minutes to cook you'll be STANDING in the queue whilst all those people's dishes are cooked . Absolutely ridiculous. Never again ,shame cos the food was lovely.

Great place to catch up with friends and some good food. The portion sizes are great and it is cooked fresh in front of you. The water glasses are tiny and a bit pointless but the staff are friendly and helpful.

On top of the fact that the food was not the traditional set for an Italian menu, I have never experienced more rude and worse customer service from the staff in my life. From the moment I walked in i was completely ignored by the lady at the front door. She didn’t gesture me to a seat or a menu leaving me to be confused and wander around for a good 10 minutes, and even then I had to ask for a seat and menu myself. That in essence is the entire experience of the restaurant. Incompetent staff and having to set up own meal and cutlery, I’ve never experienced a rude customer service like this before and I certainly won’t be coming back.
