Food was great. we had pasta which was rich and fresh and came in generous portions. Not bad value either given location.
The set-up is novel. Fun to see food being made before you, but perhaps not a system that is suited to large groups of people that wish to dine at the same time.
Service was mixed. Some staff were lovely, but others a bit grumpy. At the checkout kiosk, we asked to see the bill before paying but were firmly told we’d get it after we had paid (which is of course the wrong way round).
5/5 for food, 3/5 service, 4/5 overall.

The manager, Tes, is amazingg and very helpfull. Very caring about good customer service, shows no stress and can handle stressful situations very well. Will certainly be coming back !!!

Very different experience to normal restaurants. More like a school lunchtime food service. I really liked the concept. The portion sizes are big and the freshness is amazing. It does tAke time to queue up and order but that is expected in this time of a restaurant. Maybe have the line moving so people feel there is a progress. Overall very good pasta and fresh. The risotto is very good and well made. You can modify it how you like. The chefs are friendly and they ask you all the way about the different flavours to add.

Good place near the Tate Modern. A lot of space, good food, friendly staff, but if you want pasta - you'll need to wait in line for quite some time (hint is to order salad!). Tables and restrooms are not very clean though... This can be improved. You can take container for leftovers for free - it makes a lot of sense as portions are BIG!

Dessert with wine/beer ????. The tiramisu wasn't the best, but good enough for my sugar fix. My order took longer than usual as there was a bit of a mix up but the waitress gave us a massive discount - woohoo!

The husband took me here after going with work a few times. At the door we were handed a card each and then went to choose our seats. Husband grabbed menus and then explained - there are multiple chef stations labelled according to the menu categories. You choose what you want from the menu and them go to the appropriate chef who then cooks it for you fresh! You can customize your dish according to your preference and then they load your order on to your card.
At the end of the meal, you take your cards to the till and the bill is already split by person so it's really easy to either combine it all on to one bill or pay separately as you prefer.
Our food was delicious! It was fun watching the chef cooking my dish just for me (you wait at the counter if it's pasta or salad but go to your table and wait if it's pizza)
The atmosphere was great, pretty tables with lots of greenery and low lighting. There was a more loungey area in the back that we didn't explore which is less convenient for eating but looked like a nice place to chill.
Will definitely be going back to check out other items on the menu.

I gave this vapiano 5 stars before, but I am forced to update my rating because of my recent experience where I was forced to wait standing in the queue for 52 minutes before having my pasta cooked by a very obviously tired and grumpy chef who also seemed to be in a fight with a colleague while cooking. I understand Vapiano is popular and busy on Friday nights, but at least warn people that there is an hour waiting time, or add table service so people don't have to stand in the queue for that long. Like I said, I am a big Vapiano fan and I love their food, but this recent experience was not something I would like to go through again.

Good quality food and nicely decorated, but prices and the noise is a bit too much. Italian food is not the best in the area but pizza is not so bad. Try to avoid pick hours as the queues can be quite crowded during that time as all the offices around are lunching and dinning at that time

A lovely atmosphere and not too expensive. They have vegan options for pizza and pasta. Its good for groups but food arrives and different times so you aren’t always eating together. The food quality is amazing and tastes so good.

Atmosphere - spacious, well-lit, vibrant but music not too loud
Food - chef makes the dish using the pasta you choose at the counter (tip: complementary bread available upon request), food served piping hot, fresh ingredients used, flavour is not too strong; student-friendly prices (+student discount)

The pasta was really nice. Unfortunately they don't employ waiters, so you have to queue for your food and stand there waiting for it to be cooked. Was stood waiting to eat for at least 20min - and it wasn't even that busy when we got there approx 5.30pm

Dishes using fresh ingredients are made in front of you. Lots of seating and options to customise your chosen dish. Food always hits the spot. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
It is pricey for what it is though and can get very busy during lunch hours.

There is a really cool guy named Vincenzo.
He is the best chef from all of them.
There are a few cooks which aren't good and don't give you a good meal like the rest, but the majority of chefs are really nice.
Vincenzo is on another level tho. He does your meal with a passion.
For the restaurant, it is a good place for going with friends or family. Prices aren't that cheap and I'd say the pasta is what makes it amazing, the pizza is average.

Flavoured food with large portions, the only thing I weren't a fan of, was waiting in a long line to order, then standing there whilst they cooked the food and then carrying my own food. It might sound lazy but after a long day of work, i would have liked the option of sitting whilst I waited. However I would go back because it was quite cheap and nice food.

Not worth the wait or aggravation... waited 15 mins to order pasta... finally ordered...chef starts with my protein... he actually counted how many prawns he added...he then turns to work on another person pasta order... forgets mine... ends up having to start all over... and ask me my order again... I just said no thanks... for an over £10 order best to go somewhere else. Plenty of good pasta places around

Great concept and food that you can see being cooked right in front of you. Slightly confusing when going for the first time, but once you get to grips with their card system, you're good to go!
Card system - everyone gets given a contactless card upon entry. This card acts like a tab that is used when placing orders, which you then paid upon exiting the restaurant.
To order - go up to the food bar, place your order, tap your card on their machine when advised and wait for your meal to be put together before you.
Perhaps slightly worse for big groups since everyone orders individually, so food will likely come at different times.

I've ordered the Meatball marinara and it came with 4 tiny soggy meatballs in my plate. Sauce was rushed and bland.. all of this for £10.50. I rather eat instant noodles.
