These guys were so sound and helpful. There's a man called Patrick (I think), who found me a vintage strap and changed my battery for no extra charge and was just generally an all round top banana. The music in there as good, too.

Has to be on the list of best looking camera shops. This place screams nostalgia, proper cameras and passionate staff. They have many loyal customers for a reason. Online shop is a pleasure to use but in store is so much more an enjoyable esperience.

Consistently good service, good film results and more than anything good honest advice. They've kept me shooting film photography, and even fixed up my Grandfather's old film camera when nobody else I took it to had a clue what could be the problem. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but these guys are excellent.

Expect any repair work to come in at the top end of the estimate and then have VAT slapped on as well. I think this is a fairly dishonest place trying to scrape every penny out of customers as they struggle to keep their heads above the water in a challenging climate.

Amazing service! I needed a lens fixing for a job super last minute (to be used the next day) and the guys at Aperture really went above and beyond to get it done for me and at an excellent price. Would definitely recommend.

Really pleased with my trip to the store Aperture. I am a beginner in the world of photography and had just bought a camera from an online store. Having issues with photo quality I was advised by my friend to go and pay the store a visit. The staff were really helpful and explained to me what was causing my photos to come out unclear and went through ways to avoid it happening in the future. It was accually an issue regarding the compression of photos when transferring to devices. As a novice, I was worried that could get used against me as my knowledge is quite basic, but this was not the case and they quickly cleared up my frustrations and concerns without trying to sell me anything I didn't need.
Not only were they helpful, they have quite a unique shop with a vast array of old vintage lenses and camera gear. Definitely worth paying a visit, highly recommend this store

I dropped my camera with the lens out and the lens became tilted and stuck. Versus most 'camera repair' shop who would charge you £25 just to send it to the factory for a quote, the Aperture guys fixed it for me right away. The best part was that since it was just an easy fix, the Aperture guys just offered it for free/ hinted I could donate a bit to their Japanese Tsunami fund which I am more than happy to.
The shop offers on site repair which I think is rare is London (I didn't manage to find much on site camera repair places from google). Their idea of combining a cafe with a camera shop is also ingenious. I really enjoyed the chilled vibe and classical music playing in the background whilst my camera was being fixed.

I'm planning to go to this place for some lenses. They seem quite affordable and nice.

Get all of my film developed here. Pretty reliable, good prices and good turnaround times (usually 2 days for colour 135 or 120 film). Staff can be hit and miss depending how busy the shop is. Not perfect - 120 scans often come back with issues (i.e. been knocked whilst scanning) but very pleased with the quality of service. They also did a good job of servicing my pentax k1000.

Staff are unfriendly and unwelcoming. I wanted simple advice on a lens cap, was simply told they didn’t have the one required. I had to ask where they thought I might find one and their only response was to look online.
I would highly recommend mr cad in Victoria if looking for second hand cameras or accessories as the staff there are lovely and incredibly knowledgable and willing to help every customer who walks in.

I took my M3 in for a routine service, and it came back worse than when I took in. It now has a giant fleck right in the centre of the viewfinder image, which haunts me everytime I take a photo. I did take it back in to allow them to correct it, and the bald man behind the counter informed with a smile that there was nothing they would do. This was after spending around £180 and ending up with a less functional camera than I started with. NEVER AGAIN.

Nice shop, miserable staff. Prices are to be expected in central London - I feel disappointed with the service, no please or thank you's and grumpy vibe from the staff....feels like they hate being there. Film developing took 4 days longer than stated and didn't receive an apology. Interesting selection of film cameras, nice packaging of products. Just wear a smile and at least pretend to be interested and grateful for customers. Don't think i'll be returning.

Don't trust retarded reviews by same guy using different handles to try and trash talk a film establishment. Or the retards that post fake reviews just because it's a film camera repair shop. Call them and talk to the store directly, or stop by and talk to them yourself. If you want references, ask, and they will provide them.

This was some time ago, but the arrogance, presumptuousness and patronising attitude of the staff does not honour the huge quality of stock they sell. I asked a simple question about an adapter for a Canon FD lens only to hear "we don't sell analog Canon" followed by ignoring me and going on serving another customer. I mean, sorry I wasn't there to buy another Summarit. Felt like a burden, not coming back.

Combining a camera shop with a tea room is a genius idea. The cameras are all beautiful Leica and similar calibre, so I just want to sit and stare at them all day, which makes the tea area at the back perfect! When I finally have enough money to afford a film Leica, I'll definitely be buying it here.

Terrible service. Brought in a camera that needed a simple rangefinder adjustment and had to walk out.
After having 2 rolls unusably out of focus and a easily visible misalignment through the viewfinder I brought my camera in to be looked at and fixed. After having a maximum of a 2 minute look at it, two staff members argued the toss with me that the camera is perfect and that it was my eyes fault. I recognise that these guys have been in the business for a long time but they refused to listen to me; I know the camera, shot with it for years, and I know when its not correct.
After being told that it was me that was wrong, I decided a business that won't listen to the customer isn't worth my money. Took it around the corner to camera city where a they looked at the camera for much longer and recognised that the rangefinder was misaligned and took it in for repair.
Very disappointed, I heard great things about aperture but perhaps they should climb down from their high horse from time-to-time.
