Excellent service provided by the staff of SLHC in London. I was very impressed with the observing staff members going above any beyond to help fellow Sri Lankans.

In my recent personal experience, it was a quick and an easy appointment with Mr.Munasinghe's clear guidance. Hence, Well done and thank you for your time and great effort !!???? In addition, I also am grateful to the rest of the humble and supportive members of staff who delivers excellent teamwork at the consular services counters. Many thanks everyone ! Very helpful service centre. I got my passport renewed without any hazel. The service was very quick. The official website contains all the necessary & essential documents required for all consular matters so it’s better get prepared before going in person. Its hard to get information over the phone as the lines are some times busier so need to keep on trying. Parking on the surrounding roads costs about £4.50 a hour so public transport is the easiest. Due to the pandemic there is an online booking system to book in advance. Staff are friendly & helpful in giving information & advise It’s busier in the morning hours so some time of waiting will required. It will be much better if the consular section is moved to a larger area with easy access to elderly people as the present place has got a metal steps to climb down which will be hard to use during adverse weather conditions

Worst receptionist I have ever met. Way of talking is terrible. Even she realized she was wrong no apologies. Shouting like a dog. I was really disappointed.Other staffs are friendly.

I have been trying to contact anyone over phone past few days. Left numerous messages. Simply appalling.. Bad image to Sri Lanka and our Presidents efforts. So far no replies. What's going on.

If you are trying to contact the High Commission go to their website and get the new contact details under "Notice to the General Public" all the numbers are listed there for Pension, Passport, Dual citizenship etc, etc... (since 4th July 2021)

SLHC London has improved a lot with their hospitality and helpfulness. The staff is willing to help the customers to get the job done. Many thanks to the gents in the passport and citizenship section for serving people with the Sri Lankan friendliness.

Typical Srilankan office experience. Lots of areas to improve. Mainly professionalism and customer service. Staff are generally friendly and helpful except some grumpy ones. Went there during the covid 19 lockdown in May 2020 . The staff were operating on appointments based system but the consular website says “walk in “ , clearly public wasn’t informed correctly. THERE IS A PAY AND DISPLAY PARKING bays outside . Typical cost are around £8 an hour for diesel vehicles . Slightly cheaper rate for other vehicles. Photo Booth and Toilet facilitates on site .

Been there to register my daughter’s birth and the staff were great. It was very busy but the stuff were very helpful with the limited resources they have. I had all the documentation required and manage to get the birth certificate straight away which I thought will take months. Special thanks to Mr. Naveen. Keep it up the good work. ????????

I have decided to offer 4 stars based on my experience for Birth registration and Dual citizenship application procedure. If you have all the documents and correctly completed, then it should be a straight forward procedure, although it may take some time, on average around 1 to 2 hours. Better not to turn up on Monday or Friday... Wed or Thu is preferred and less people are expected. Many people do not have the correct documents or forms are not fully completed, then it takes time. Once the application is made, then the process is performed by the head office in Sri Lanka and they are very slow and not so proactive.

Since morning 10 o’clock to now time is 15.46 I’m still trying to call but nobody’s answer the phone. If they can’t answer the phone it’s better to said that they don’t use phones and don’t try to call them. I wish I can give 0 star.

Really bad service, the women put the phone down on me when I hadn't finished asking the question I was ringing about. There are 2 different sites to apply for visa so not sure which one is legit. Would be helpful to have confirmation. Hopeful someone else will be on the phone tomorrow, will try again then.

I don't understand why a telephone number is provided for this High Commission when nobody actually bothers to answer my calls - even choosing the other options doesn't lead anywhere apart from a voice mail message. I needed important visa and ETA information before we travelled to Sri Lanka this weekend, now I'll have to risk my entire trip because the High Commission doesn't provide a service. Very disappointed.

There are many English speaking staff , as well as Tamil speaking staff. True, the process takes longer & not straight forward as many of us used to in UK. I had to been there twice. Can't blame staff but red tape. They seems just following the protocol. Government has to spend money on IT infrastructure ( from a multilingual website, online applications process, etc) to make the process less complicated. That would save time & money for both staff & people coming to get the service.

For nearly a month I have been ringing the phone number given for this place. No one answers or pick up the phone. Why don't they say that they do not have a phone number for this office in London.

I recently visited the Sri Lankan High Commission for passport matters and all the staff were very helpful. My mother had some trouble walking and they allowed her to use the staff elevator and were all very friendly to us. I was delighted to see such hospitality and would just like to say thank you for all the help. The application processes were very quick and organised and special thanks to Anfalo for helping with our applications when there were some complications.

Very Poor service- Sri Lanka is going down the hill while other countries going up on the hill !!!!!!!! The service is very poor, I have applied for my son citizenship certificate 1 year ago, never turned up here. At the end I collected in Colombo immigration office. *No proper system/ IT system in place, No one knows anything apart from pen and paper. *All staffs hang around with their phone all the time, doing their personal stuff. *No one speak English even though they work in England. *None of them speak Tamil even though most of the people go there are Tamil. This is a very racist behaviour of the Sri Lankan government.

Service is very poor. We went for child's birth registration at 11 am and we were considered only after 2.00pm. The ones who came after us were also taken in but we were left until last ,as we didn't interrupt them. There was a staff who wasn't very nice when it came to a Sri lankan Citizen. It seems that they talk too much and work less. Not efficient enough. Also when called, there's no one to answer. When emailed , no replies. After all we didn't have a good experience.

Extremely “Poor Service” as follows;( 1) inefficient and flawed telephone line. 2) Poor telephone manners and service directions. 3) lack of knowledge and unprofessionally trained staff who are not up to the British or Europe standards. 4) outdated and outlawed process which does not provide greater productivity nor sense at all but that conduct cause greater pain for clients. 5) it is quite shameful that the embassy only accept cash only for services, while the British corner shops accept bank card payments via payment terminals. In a way it is a doubtful that old fashion cash sales comply the UK annual HMRC income TAX returns, as the receipt or cash book can hide under the carpet while the Sri Lanka treasury goes down as a results of having wrong politicians and toxic power. ( Arjun Mahendren and Ravi Karu..) 6) unsatisfactory diplomats service to SL citizens but high commission has high expectation from Sri Lankan to contribute. eventually all lead for their comfort rather doing right service to people and country. 7) high Commision web site is not useful for good nor it isn’t up to date tech standards to get service as some of applications aren’t validate when we take them to consulate counter, counter staff provide different type of applications to get it done the matter as online one isn’t updated one. It is not reasonable for out of London people,, as the service isn’t made for correct needs. There are lot more to say but this is enough for you to improve UK high commission service at least bring to a little level of satisfaction, please don’t insult SL people who has earned decent status and well educated background People across the UK and all industries. All above mentioned issues have been happening from many years back and this feedback is not just only picking up current high commissioner work conduct as he can’t do all by him self , but this flawed and out dated unsystematic culture handled by uneducated toxic top to bottom politicians up to the all officials not to function for good. Please take this feedback to improve rather retaliate or vengeance.!! It is worth to think of collect smart heads from UK various professional areas who can contribute to build a greater and safer productive system to benefit for all beyond dependacy of crook politicians???? Someone got to be stand to change for good for all. Sent from my mobile. Apologies for informality.

Can't blame the staff, but the process followed is decades old and needs serious consideration. During passport renewal, my wife asked them to include the ''Designation'' with a letter from employer, after 2 months, they are asking for degree certificates and other qualification certificates as it is their process. They have an employer confirming the designation in a letter but asking for certificates...... Doesn't make any sense.

Despite the occasional hurdles, my experience here was rather positive. One word of advice to everyone who visits the embassy is... always make sure you read everything on the website that's relevant to what you want to get done. It also helps to get an extra set of photocopies of all documents before you go, just in case! Mrs. Liyanage, the consulate attaché, Ms. Akoushla and Mr. Manila were all very helpful and efficient. Surani and Malibu, the telephonists also deserves mention for being polite and helpful. Get there early and don't waste time beating around the bush. Get straight to the point! At times it may feel like one is stuck in an old government office is Sri Lanka, where everything happens at a snail's pace! But once they get right down to it, the staff are efficient and proactive. I was impressed at how they sorted out the complicated situation I had. Bottom line is, be well prepared and allow extra time. Don't visit the embassy if you have a busy day ahead of you. Just keep the day free atleast until 5/6pm!
