The best thing that happened to me is becoming a UK national so I don’t have to deal with these incompetent Portuguese staff. Renewing your passport is an absolute nightmare. Their website offers next to no useful info. Just for comparison, I renewed my UK passport online whilst living in another country and it took 2 weeks. Very fast and efficient. Going to the Portuguese embassy you won’t even be guaranteed of renewing your passport. Pulling teeth is more than talking to the miserable staff here. The embassy and its staff is a shameful representation of the nation.

Staff are so rude and they disconnect call while we talking, We get answer after 30 mins even though they don’t give proper answer. I recommend that this service doesn’t deserve any rates. Also their system always changing appointments themselves.

Impossible to renew my passport . Bookings not available, poor website . I tried to book and the website is so poor that was impossible to fill in the spaces, and the booking dissipated . I need to send my settlement scheme fast as possibles and my own embassy is not cooperating. Poor service !!

They dont answer the phone and when i went there in person to find out information regarding my passport the Security officer outside was very rude to me and ended up swearing me in the end. HORRIBLE EMBASSY EVER

My Daughter today managed to get a Belgian Passport, it took her 3 weeks to get it as her mother is Belgian all this done in London , its a huge dissapointement my daughter could not renew her Passport for over a year now, they dont answer the phone , online bookings never confirmed its a disgrace , its worse than a 3rd world country.The Minister of Foriegn affairs should be ashamed of himself you are a incompetent civil servant and a disgrace to our flag.

Totally disrespectful for a Portuguese citizen that needs to have some issues solved when aboard . I am trying to book a renew of passport / citizen card more than 6months to apply to my UK settlement scheme and until now nobody get back to me . Can you provide more information how we are going to be able to live here without your support ? Looks like Portugal there ! Phone line doesn’t exist .

Never responds (or even answers) phone calls. I needed some touristy information but it was like "pulling teeth" The place often looked closed and after someone eventually opened the door they looked desperate when I asked for some intra Portugal travel information. What they eventially gave me was not what I wanted and was out of date. Absolutely useless. Avoid.

Had an appointment to renew my Cartāo de cidadāo (ID Card) in June 2020, expired over a year. Trying to make an appointment for over six months. Then due to Covid 19, the Portuguese Consulate of London cancelled this appointment. Now they have opened up again and instead of sending a new appointment date for me as i already had an appointment made and it was them who cancelled. Hell no, i am having to call them and send countless emails and still no luck in getting a new appointment to renew. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER PEOPLE AND STOP BEING SUCH A PAIN TO THE EMIGRANTS HERE...

Being calling for days, for hours they just don't answer the phone, just bad don't see the point of having a portugues embassy in the UK at all, they no help they even tell people to travel to Portugal if is that urgent.... sad

This is the worst service ever. I sent more then five emails about the collection of my ID and i do not get anything back. I paid for an emergency ID renewal and I have waited nearly 2 months and they haven't given me any answers to pick up my ID. Tried to call them a few times but no one answers the phone, i don't know what they are doing in that embassy. It is the WORST service ever.

Never had a problem. They've responded to emails promptly, and although it takes time to get an appointment, that's the nature of public services in any country. I find it helps to put on a smile, be polite, bring a book to read while you wait, and treat them with respect. Works for me every time.

This is crazy guys!!! You guys want to talk about stuck? My I.d is it of date and new employers won’t even give me a JOB because I have no documents in date thanks to these guys! I’ve been calling every day for 2 months and no answer. I think the beats thing to do is book a flight out directly to Portugal and get all your documents in 2-4 working days whilst your there. I honestly think this is being done on purpose. With brexit coming how the hell are these people able to operate like this. It’s beyond disgusting, and when you moan about it they hang up on you. Who can we call about this? If it wasn’t for a strong family support I’d be homeless, that’s the reality of this sh*t. They will let their own people starve

The online booking service is absolutely terrible! Finally got into the calender at exactly 4pm after 4 days of failed attempts to the website glitching this week. There was only one space available, I didn’t even look at the time, day, or month, I just wanted to book anything! When I went to confirm the booking, I was told that it had already been taken?!??? Ridiculous. I’d have a better chance winning the lottery, than booking here at this rate!

If you need a Visa to travel to Portugal just dont go! This is the worst embassy I've ever come across! Missed our holiday lost all the money , wasted money travelling to embassy and paid £90 for a visa that didnt arrive, theyve had passport for over a month and tried every avenue to get it back , it is impossible! Any time i speak to someone all i am told is 'it is being processed' never once had an apology. They should be shut down! how any system is allowed to perform like this in the UK is disgusting. Theyre actually conning people legally.

Terrible service. Incredibly rude and impatient on the phone. I asked for information on criminal background checks (I worked in Lisbon for one year) and was directed to a website which I could not access as I don't have a citizen card. I called back to explain this and was met with impatient, defensive rambling about how what I needed was 'all there' (even though it wasn't). I was then informed that the website had been checked 2 years ago in which time it's possible that changes may have been made. Then I was told they didn't have a computer to even check the website. I mean, seriously? You're in a London embassy and you don't have a computer? How embarrassing.

Information provided by embassy on how to register a birth keeps changing and now impossible to get another appointment to meet their new requirements. I'm sure when we finally do go see them they would have changed policy again. A service can't operate like this in the modern age.

Waited 40 mins to find out the person is not at their desk and the mail box for the number is full and hang up!! You cannot leave them a message.. please listen to your messages and delete them!!!! Went on the website which was even worst ! Everything is in Portuguese even though there is a option to translate it into English.. after clicking on the button everything is still in Portuguese!! What is the point of giving people that option when it does not even work?!?!? Not everyone can read or speak Portuguese who has Portugal passport ????

I am giving a four stars just because it was difficult to get an appointment and when I finally got one I had to wait two months to renew my passport , but the service that I received was good, they were very quick and friendly. I did my new passport on Tuesday 9:30am paid £110 and by 12 o’clock today Thursday I received my new passport in my door. I am so happy right now ???? I just want to thank you to all the staff that make it happen Muito obrigada

Has always been easy for me to do my things my son citizen card .. my mum throw away her papers all her identification, was easy to get new if I get from the site the right information, is very easy wen I go there One thing I notice is people do not respect the queue . People they want the things done by they way and that is difficult to be done So I think you do a fair good job ... and are very professional. Thank you
