Had a life insurance with these for a while now. Wrote to them 6 weeks ago asking for some paperwork to be sent : no reply Emailed twice today : no reply I am now concerned about the problems my family will have when the time comes to make a claim. I am now going to cancel my policy and look for a company with better communications.

Legal And General have provided retirement policy holders with an online account, ok fine so far. So it would seem easy that you can send them a message through this account and they would answer! Nope, no answer to at least 6 messages, what excuse would they use, probably they are really busy well do you know what, there are hundreds of people looking for jobs at the moment so hire so more staff and get the messages answered......

How on earth, they will send a password by post in 5 days when I requested a online account details. Couldn't login at all, always gives you the wrong information. Doesn't have a online customer service. Worst customer service on the market

We were on auto-renewal for many years with Legal and General. No one ever contacted us that they had not received payment and cancelled our policy after we have been customers for many years. We did not even realise until 3 months later when we are coming to sell our property! The rep couldn't give us a straight answer about what happened and just said the payment was taken and then rejected but could not give us any further reasoning.

It's taken 16 days for them to respond to a very straight forward and simple claim (of £320 for a locksmith due to lost keys). Furthermore, during the whole process of making the claim, they kept making veiled references to to the no claim timing as a means of actively trying to detract me from claiming. Finally, they tried to force the Contents excess on me of £200, instead of the £0 excess I should have received under my policy for Home Emergency. You should avoid this company like the plague. Contracting COVID would have been more fun that interacting with L&G.

If you like dealing with lots of confusing online forms with answer options that don't include what your answer is. You enjoy waiting over 2.5 hours on the phone to speak to someone and aren''t bothered about being refused a claim over rigid minor details then this is the insurance company for you.

We have Home and Contents Insurance with L&G. Shocking service. Asked them to take payment details out of a different account and they managed to not make the change. Their online portal system is even worse - it takes 2 days for a password reset email to come through and the 'forgotten username' email doesn't come through at all (it's been 4 days and waiting now). They also managed to create 2 accounts for us at the very start of the process. Inept.

Went on line to my account to change my details as moved home. Got a message asking me to telephone them straight away. Kept waiting on the phone for an hour and a half with no one answering. Another company playing the Covid card to excuse diabolically poor service. Just an update on above today Friday 2and October. Received an email from a lady called Hayley saying she would sort out problem giving me an email address to contact her on. Sent her details this morning, now gone 4.00pm no response. Also left a telephone message by Katie saying to ring legal and general, did so at just gone 4.00pm today and told there by a woman who answered the phone that she couldn't help me and there was a minimum wait time of 45 mins.!!!

LGF are the worse insurance company, water flooding claim was made in February 2020, left the home owner without heating or hot water for over 6 months and homeless. LGF have ignored all correspondence but made a fake Police welfare check against the claimant, they have caused extreme distress, forcing further action and a social media documentary of on the aversions against the claimant Hi Hayley Thank you for your reply, however; after 70 pages of emailed correspondence to LGF and the CEO Mr Nigel Wilson, who all have ignore the claimant, what can you do to settle this claim. Wait for the video documentary that will be uploaded to all social platforms

Legal and general have been around for years What is the point of life insurance if we don't have a future look at the time is now Extinction rebellion and friends of the Earth greenpeaceMy late father with a independent financial adviser who only dealt in life insurance pensions and mortgages he will be the 1st to say he does not have a business in him or what is the point of investing in a future if we don't have one the end of the world is 9 if that is true we need help I have started by getting rid of plastic which I was in the Bournemouth daily echo for and I have been purchasing land by the world land trust to hopefully protect the rain forests and just basically any forest or trees. I am stumped at the pollution in the rate of pollution at the moment it needs to stop to come-on guys please plan sentries go green help the children of futures teach the world-and let them lead the way full of the beauty in sand gave as a sense of pride and the beauty that you possess inside let the children's laughter make it easier I decided long ago never to walk in anyone's shadow if I fail if I succeed at least they're live in dignity because legal and general are the greatest let the children's laughter and stop the baby crying

What a liberty! Don't do any business with this company Legal & General! They refused to pay back what they owed me whilst paying dual insurance (paying for 2 policies at the same time in the same year) !! They request the impossible task of getting the other company to stamp a form and return to them! They know it is highly unlikely for another company to fulfill their criteria and they use it as a "Get-out-of-Paying" clause! NOT IMPRESSED!! BE WARNED!!

Took out insurance over the internet. They do say you find out how good your insurance is when you have to claim. Sadly house was burgled and they refused to pay out for an item in the garden which was damaged. Claimed I didn't have cover for communal items. Was then left for six months with a window which could not lock when you went out; due to the company they use not reading the full specification. It took four visits for the window to be fully fixed. It was only on the second visit the correct frame was fitted although the glass was plain and at last I was able to secure the house properly. On the third visit they actually got the leaded lights with the correct pattern but the gasket was the incorrect size. From start to finish it was a complete nightmare.

The worst insurance company I have ever been with. Do they actually read any reviews and take any action about their behaviour? Had buildings insurance and had a water leak. They did everything to avoid paying out the full amount and in the end I gave up. They then pass you onto a third party Claims Consortium who you think couldn't be any worse, but surprise they are. The surveyor attended after a major leak and wrote some evidence of damp? The place was saturated. They dispute the fact I had kitchen tiles and said it was laminate. They decided to ask Mark from Poloygon to check on his next visit! Polygon signed off the floor as dry when it clearly wasn't and had to get a dehumidifier out of my own money to dry further. They disputed a kitchen cupboard despite me sending pictures, however the staff turnover is high so you don't really know who is dealing with your claim. You call up Legal and General or Claims Consortium and you will spend ages getting through. Avoid them and invest your money elsewhere. They don't deserve to be trading.

They are appalling. They will try everything they can to avoid paying out a claim and their staff will keep stalling you. They are also very expensive. Avoid yourself an headache. Stay clear of Legal and General.

Legal and general insurance has got to… Legal and general insurance has got to be the worst insurance service on this planet. They are awful in dealing with claims. They pass you to a company called claims consortium which are terrible and incompetent and avoid dealing with the claim altogether. It is a scam they run to avoid paying out claims, as when you ring legal and general they refer you back to claims consortium. I had the policy cancelled in the end and would avoid them like the plague. Hope they go bust.

Don't bother with a calling them for life policy because if you have disability like my half who is deaf, they cant go ahead with the policy because he cant speak over the phone with them. It is really disappointing and frustrating!!

Uncontactable, took £99 premium (effectively illegally) and now can't track the refund - Be warned - I signed up for and then cancelled a home insurance policy several hours later - Cancellation was sent by email to contact address given on confirmation email. - Cancellation notice has never been responded to in writing, either by mail or by email, though has been confirmed verbally - Despite cancellation the company still took premium prior to alleged 'inception of policy' - Been chasing refund for over 2 weeks now - Impossible to contact, 20-40+ minutes waiting on phone for customer services several times only to be lied to by their representative - Does not respond to emails to any of contact addresses given - Does not respond to social media contact - Reviews receive a standard response saying contact them on email address that does not seem to be manned. PS - eventually I did get a response after I used their complaints service and I recommend you escalate any issue at an early stage. IF AFTER READING THIS YOU STILL WANT TO TAKE OUR A POILCY WITH THEM MAKE SURE YOU KEEP RECORDS AND USE A BROKER

Insurance company ripoff/ nexts doors pip work leaked and came through my roof brickwork ext / we had to pay £500 before they do any work even though it was nexts doors folt / they came renewed only half dado rail and it does not match . Also taken wallpaper of witch was expensive flock they will only replace with cheep also will not put same wallpaper on so one side will look totally different now it’s going to cost me wallpaper and decorating fees plus the £500 I’ve already had to pay what a mess been 6 months in a mess and still in a mess phoned and complained but they dog you off by saying read the small print . Paid insurance that’s not worth the paper it’s rotten on so beware legal robbery I wished I’d never been insured with them we are getting nowhere. Company’s should not be allowed to getaway with this it is making us very ill now we have been in a mess for over 6 months ????????????total rubbish/ just a upvew 3 was later after hard discussions with legal a general things starting to move very slowly. Painter making excuses running out of wallpaper ext . Had discussed the £500 payment I made but they keep giving me excuses ‘ it just seams bad really bad ‘ I’d hate to think what wood it be like if it was my fault but then £500 wood be right but this cannot be right ???????? / 9 MONTHS AND STILL NOT DONE OR FIXED THEY PROMISE TO PHONE BACK BUT ITS LIKE WAITING TO BE SHOT ???????? // nearly one year later took my sweat away for a wk , HMM IT CAME BACK HALF DUNE - I have now gave in - SO AGAIN I SAY BEWARE SHOP AROUND BECAUSE YOU MIGHT REGRET IT YOU COULD BE PAYING THEN PAYING AGAIN. ???????????? don’t get ???? - just a update when you go with this company, just remember you still have to pay the access- even if it’s not your folt . This company has no real people skills- if you clams you will get stung . My advice is go pay that bit moor with a another company. My review is the company is rubbish ????????????????????

Dont bother with this company. I cannot believe the experience I have had. Promised me a call back at least ten times and I'm yet to receive one. Due a £100 refund for the last year, have called about ten times to chase and there is a new excuse everytime . 'the authorising manager is not here', ' the refund has been processed and will be in your account in a few days', 'Sorry I was off sick and couldn't push the refund through'. Plenty of sorries and no action. Finally called to complain and was told someone would call me back within 24 hours, which has now turned to 48.. the saga continues.. absolute disgrace.

At least it's not easy with this company to update my address over the phone if we move addresses within 13 weeks. They asked me to write a letter if i want to update my address as I have moved out from the previous address after 7 weeks after I moved in. The law is "anyone must update their contact details as soon as they are changed". Updating the address is very stressful mentally, physically and financially as well as moving in and out of houses, when people have to face such difficulties.
