Alistair Bambridge handled my UK self assessment for tax year ending April 2019. It went smoothly and submitted on time. With regards to response time, this was pretty efficient on the UK tax submission itself. All the correspondence was over email. The pricing is reasonable, the only thing is that they can be tricky to get a hold of if trying to call.

NEVER USE THIS ACCOUNTANT. Alistair and his team completely messed up my taxes and put me through a huge amount of stress and hard work. They took on my company accounts/tax return and suddenly stopped filing for companies this year. This left me with no help, fines and endless problems for my new accountant to deal with. They didn't respond to any of my emails, and it seems that it has been the same story for their other company clients. I would hate for anyone to have to go through the same stress as me. Avoid them at all costs.

BA made a mistake on my 16/17 tax return which would have meant paying 2x the taxes that I owed. But okay, this can happen.
For my 17/18 tax return I prepared a clear overview of my income and estimated taxes which more or less just had to be double-checked and copied into the tax return. Nevertheless, they somehow managed to send me a completely unusable tax return which ignored most of my income and got my personal details wrong. The accountant then ignored all of my emails and I ended up having to do the tax return myself.

I have had a positive experience with them, sometimes they have been slow with emails, however this year has been great efficient and easy to understand, my only issue was the fact they don't do business taxes only sole trade, but other then that alistair is easy to work with and I will continue to work with him in the near future.

I switched to Bambridge accountants a couple of years ago on the recommendation of a friend and they've been great. They do my US and UK tax returns and it makes it a lot easier having the same firm do both. Plus I'm also paying a lot less than I used to. And the fact they specialise in the performing arts means they tick all the boxes. Callie is incredibly helpful and proactive - when, it has to be admitted, I have not been so proactive. I would highly recommend Bambridge Accountants to anyone having to file both US and UK returns.
