Positive Experience with Brookson One.
I have been with Brookson One since July 2020. Firstly, Jan was my on-board person. We had a very good time trying to get me up to date concerning my dashboard. We didn't just talk about business, but life in general. I was always looking forward to speaking with her.
It was sad when Jan retired. But since Jade O'Brien took over, it's been fabulous; the way she goes far and beyond to help me with my queries. She always replies to all my emails and monthly bank statement updates which signified attention to detail.
Today, I was thinking of creating time to call and ask for an important service from Brookson One. To my amazement, Jade called to find out how I was doing and if she could be of any help. It was very timing and I was really grateful for the way she reached out to me. We were able to cover all the things I was planning to call for.
I want to use this to appreciate her good work. Jade, keep up the way you listen and attend to your clients. You are a star to Brookson One.
My appreciation also goes to Jan, who helped me with my initial on-board process.
Thank you to both endlessly. You are the type of people that makes work easier for others.

A consistently good service, regular communication and knowledgable staff that will always take the time to explain things. Shout out to Matthew Ryan in particular for his patience and expertise.
Their portal takes a bit of getting used to (hey - taxes are tricky!), but it is incredibly comprehensive and sees regular updates. Absolutely no complaints about their service.

Being new to contracting, Brookson One have been amazing at sorting out what's needed on my behalf, and making sure I'm informed of what I need to know.
Throughout the past few months, my Brookson contact, Keith Dooley, has been constantly available to answer my many questions. He has helped connect me with the free tools Brookson has available, such as their portal to track invoices & expenses, and their financial assessment, which lead on to mortgage advice. Thanks for your great help so far, Keith.
Looking forward to staying with Brookson One the next few years of contracting!

Individual advisers are very knowledgeable and helpful, but the web portal they use is pretty hopeless as it makes lots of assumptions, which are not correct in my case and their software can't even match-up invoices with payments. My annual accounts are never correct and I have to check everything. I'm putting off jumping to another service until I can find one I can be sure will be better.

I've been with Brookson for 3 years now and have found their service and advice to be first class from the word go. Whilst they are not the cheapest, you get what you pay for. For example, the way they set their systems up so furlough can be claimed is simply first class. For me, this in itself is worth the fee. They are also proactive in updating their customers whenever legislation changes and are quick to respond to queries even when just emailed. Thoroughly recommended!

They are amazing, as long as you don't ask questions or require any service other than filing for your corporation tax and tax assessment. They are awfully expensive, especially when you are closing your Ltd company. You would expect some advice when paying so much money, but they barely answer your questions unless trivial. I wish I had saved that money and done my own taxes, as I still had to learn everything by myself in order to answer my questions. As an agency worker, I feel that opting for a Ltd company is convenient only for accounting agencies - surely £174/month to handle one weekly invoice seems a good deal.

Good to begin with but maybe WFH has impacted them. The simplist tasks are delayed and the lack of ability / expertise shines through, I have sent 4 chasing emails to match up payments and correct a negative balance for my final year accounts as instructed to do so from Brooksons. I have taken the required action and send an email stating they need to update the accounts and my balance as I've made a payment as per their advice. When someone eventually replies they have no idea what I'm talking about so I now have to explain again the easiest task. Still waiting to be resolved! ????

I deeply regret the use of Brookson for over a year. They have a couple of systems that seem to be out of sync with one another and you can categorise an expense as X only to be rejected and miss-categorised later. I've spent a couple of months explaining it and waiting for them to resolve the issue so I can see my correct balance. It was a long and painful process that, first of all I had to notice and start and second could cost me over £25000 in additional taxes.
All I got were apologies, and after they screwed up couple of other things and said they can fix it, but I'd need to pay them more I decided to take my business elsewhere and I advise everyone to do the same.
Their support is extremely friendly, but their accountancy skills and attention to detail still makes me give it the lowest mark.

I did not have any experience of contracting before this. Brookson's guided me through the process. Setting up my own bank account and limited company, in really short notice (less than a week). Brookson portal to track expenses and oustanding tasks. Steven Rouke was assigned to me as part of the onboarding team. He's been really helpful setting up regular weekly appointments to answer questions on the way and taking me through the Brookson portal. Really helpful overall, have learned a lot so far.

We've been with Brookson One less than two years and the poor customer service is appalling. They're not responsive and don't pay attention to any detail whatsoever. You expect them to be the expert but they come back asking you questions which make you wonder whether they are qualified. The point for paying an accountant is for them to use their knowledge to help in the financial matters I do not understand but they come back speaking jargon which I'm clearly paying for to be simplified. I did not get the service I paid the premium for. I had to chase them for months to do my tax calculations and when they came they were incorrect. The level of unprofessionalism at Brookson One is beyond belief. I wouldn't recommend anyone to waste a penny on them. Avoid like plague!!!

Brookson is great at taking all of the financial -and usually stressful- intricacies involved in setting up your own business and working on them in the background. I have been working directly with Steven Rouke, who has been great in both answering promptly my questions and queries> IN addition, Steven has a great ability in breaking-down the technical (financial) information into easily digestible bits for me. I would highly recommend Brookson and more specifically Steven Rouke when it comes to trusting the financial side of things of ones limited company.

This company is a shower of the worst kind, I am a previous client of Brookson One, I left Brookson One because of poor service, poor attention to detail, a lack of professionalism and a general failure to do what they are paid for, in addition the web portal is frequently either inaccessible or the information displayed is wildly inaccurate. Brookson had full read only access to the company bank account and still managed to get the accounts repeatedly wrong. The self service portal is a joke and 'loses' information.
When I opted to leave Brookson, the professional clearance was so poor that my new accountant had to rebuild the accounts as if from zero.
Directly attributable to Brookson's incompetence and ineptitude the company was issued with nearly £2500 in fines from HMRC and Companies house.
If you are considering using Brookson DO NOT, Mickey Mouse could do a better job with only three fingers!

Not acceptable service. Constant delays, they need chasing. They are very "robotic" in their answers and I do not recommend them to anyone. Use a proper accountant that knows what they are doing. My wife has unsuccessfully used them in the past and hopefully my review will help others have a better experience.

I was recommended to Brookson as I was about to take on a contract role, from the start they guided through the process of setting up my own Limited company. I was given a dedicated contact Steven Rouke who was professional and provided great service throughout the process.
Due the contact role not working out me Steven still kept in regular contact and provide me with some key advise. Even when i decided to close the company Steven provided me with the right guidance and advice and displayed great empathy.
I would highly recommend this company if you require this type of services.

I felt very reassured after speaking with Brookson One about setting up my new ltd company for contracting so decided to go with them. They have been patient enough to answer all my questions and explain things in detail. Very professional service and great online system. I have spoken with multiple people on different things such as pensions, insurance, IR35 and all meetings were arranged quickly at times that suited me via my accountant. I received a free financial health check too worth £700 and the call lasted 1h30m and went into a lot of depth. I am also interested in their pensions scheme too which sounds like they've negotiated a good deal thanks to the many thousands of contractors signed up on it. My main point of contact my accountant Steve is very friendly and professional and replies quickly to my enquiries.
