They are not professional, rented out an illegal shed as part of a HMO for accommodation.
The draft contract they send you is incorrect and they do not tailor it until last minute... but if you signed and it is legally binding.
They say all bills included, even TV license, later when you rent a room they say it is your responsibility... why can’t they just say that it is per room to declare and pay?
They arrange house checks too early, didn’t let us know if someone comes around to do some work in the communal area (which should be best practice).
They wanted to charge me check-out fee, which they then said is a badly worded fee, but for some other admin. Managed to wave it...
they refused to mitigate with landlord about early termination and misrepresented law about my tenancy rights just to please their landlord.
They need professional training for sure.

Very friendly team at NEA Caversham. Good communication over phone and email, and when I had to go into the office to collect keys the team were very friendly (noting my Welsh accent and wishing me a happy St David's day, as well as sharing a Welsh cake with me!!). Estate agents can have a reputation for being a bit soulless, but NEA very helpful and friendly from the outset.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Nea have specifically written clauses into their contracts to maximise the amount you have to pay at the end of your tenancy. I received calls every couple of month saying I had not paid rent when I had, which then turned out to be a problem with their billing system. At the end they say you have to give notice from payment date, not from when you tell them. I essentially ended up paying for almost 2 months, even when I was not at the property. Keep a record of everything if you have no choice but to deal with them, as they will 100% try to squeeze extra money out of you. The staff will act as though you are always in the wrong and are very arrogant.

NEA didn't manage our property directly, so I can't speak to that, however, my wife and I had a great experience with NEA after many years of agencies who were absolutely awful. Gareth, Roz and the rest of the team were incredibly nice and handled viewings with the pandemic in a very accommodating way and took our schedules into consideration. Thank you for being unique in the business of letting agents!

After having a bad experience with another Estate agent in the area, it was refreshing to have found a company on recommendation from a friend, who communicate well and keep you up to date with each step of the sale and purchase. I would highly recommend Nicholas to friends and family. Emma was very knowledgable about the properties we viewed with her and anything she didn’t know, she got back to us as promised.

I just wanted to take the time to thank you all for getting my partner and I into our wonderful new home. From the very first phone call letting us know about the house to handing over the keys, each and every member of staff has been friendly, professional, and a pleasure to speak with.
My partner and I have talked about our own home for some time, and the fact we were able to move in before all the lockdowns and quarantine started is such a blessing and we can’t believe how lucky we’ve been with the timing of it all.

I felt I just had to write about Emma. We found her a delightful and helpful young lady not only to ourselves but to the purchaser. She took time to show the clients around our home never rushing them, pointing out the best features of our home and giving them ideas to make the most of our house by suggesting how they may like to change or use certain rooms and their adaptability. I can honestly say in all the 7 moves we have had over the years I have never found such a dedicated Estate Agent who has brought nothing but calm and ease at what is known as a stressful time.

I received a wonderful customer service from NEA Lettings and in particular from Gareth Walsh of Reading Branch. He took our renting process seriously, has always been constructive and put all efforts to complete it as quickly as possible. Morevoer, I would also have to mention Abby of NEA Reading as well as she is also quite friendly, responsive and quick which you may not find easily from of other letting agency reps. I recommend them definitely.

Rented through them for few years. Always found them polite, responsive and professional. Liz from the property management team is the ultimate professional. One thing I liked was that all the contractors they used were local people, with good skills and local knowledge. If we ever came back to Caversham they would be our first point of call.

Excellent customer service and very helpful! I had trouble verifying my employment for referencing purposes as I work privately, which can be a problem for renting, however, they were extremely helpful and worked with the landlord to get everything passed quickly. They were all very good at keeping in touch with me through the week to let me know if there was any progress on the situation rather than leaving me wondering what to do! Would definitely recommend.

Not helpful when buying a property. Will unnecessarily both you with phone calls. Will also discourage ASBESTOS testing in properties with known Asbestos... Although I had to buy a property with them, I definitely won't be selling through them. I would hate to give them more of my custom.

I just want to say what terrible service we had from Emma, me and my girlfriend wanted to buy a property and we really liked it but there was a sycamore tree right by the house and we were worried about that spreading under the house. So we asked Emma to find out and at first she was like " oh it will proably be fine" and we told her how bad these trees can go you need to find out for us who owns if we can remove it etc because we need to conisder that before buying and she could not be bothered! She said she will, she sent me an email asking my thoughts about the house and i said well i want to find out about the tree did you manage to find if we can remove it, she never replied another day later she sent same email and I sent same reply and she did not reply and then she sent 3rd email asking what my thoughts were and i gave up in the end. If your sales staff cant be bothered to find out imporant information you wont get a sale! Shame because I did like the house but not going to buy without finding that imporant information out. Also she kept telling us she didnt have much time as she had to do another viewing somewhere else, well sorry but I am not buying a loaf of bread I want to spend time looking at a house before making a big commitment to somewhere.
I overslept?! What kinda rubbish is that? Is that what you got told? I got stuck in traffic, such a load of rubbish you mention, also I was working on both days you tried ringing so i could not answer my phone and I asked clearly in the email my concerns and weather or not you found out any information about the tree. When I got reply never mentioend anything about it and just asked me to ring the office, and never replied to my question which was the most imporant question of them all. The second viewing we were only there for 5 minutes and was already been told had another viewing to get to so we defiantly did not get half an hour to see the house.

My experience was absolutely amazing. As soon as I took interest in the property, I had a viewing the following day and desperately wanted it (even thought there were other estate agents viewing at the same time) but they made it happen for me...and within 2weeks at most , I had the signed tenency agreement in my hands!
The service was professional but friendly, efficient but not pushy, and they have answered all my follow up queries the same day I've asked them!
I literally couldn't be happier with the service....and I've got to give a big shout out to Gareth especially as he was amazing!! ????
