Aunt in rehab for tibia fracture discharged from Wyckoff 2 weeks ago so far no problems with the staff I did read the reviews and was hesitant about the transfer but like others I don't know how this works. I called Chris the 7th fl supervisor and was told if my call isn't urgent to call between 1pm and 3pm when the nurses are at their desk. I have always called during that time and actually have spoken with my aunt. The rest of the time I guess the staff is working which I rather they be instead of answering the phones. I just visited with my aunt on Thursday so they have been Covid free for a while since I had to wait almost 10 days to visit. I think sometimes we forget how hard their jobs are and how busy even we get at work and are unable to answer phones but it's easy to jump to conclusions. My only issue so far is the food which according two my aunt is tasteless and very little.

I don't understand why they have a 5 star. I agree with Ivan Soto. Everytime I call the 7th fl, NO ANSWER. The only ones working is the operator and HR, they are the ONLY ones answering the phone, other than that the communication is not good at all. I want to find out information and I get no one answers the phone. NOT EVEN THE SUPERVISOR OF THE 7th Fl. Thank you operator for doing a great job, answering the phone and thank you HR too, but I need to contact the 7th fl. Hello?? Anybody working???? Short Staff???

There's going to be a lawsuit against this place. 1. My mom is a patient there. There's never any communication between there and us. Everything I called they don't answer. 2. There's always a covid case going on and going on lockdown. 3. They failed to let us know they she had an infection. 4. Everytime my sister or I try to called the administrator office.they don't pick up.

I wont get into details about my family’s unfortunate situation. But if you love your family member please keep your loved ones away from this place. This is an absolute nightmare. Almost certain your loved one will contract Covid or some type of disease here.

I want people to know this is NOT the place to take a loved one in case you need to. They are not following basic protocols and are letting patients get infected with COVID. They are solely responsible for the death of my uncle. My uncle was transferred to this place after being admitted to two different hospitals, he went to this rehab facility as a COVID negative patient only to contract the virus there, he was as HE told my aunt placed in the same room with someone who had the virus. He should’ve been placed on a different floor or in a room by himself for the first 14 days AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD. The staff was negligent and irresponsible. My cousins called daily to get updates on his condition and they barely ever answered the phone, when they did answer, they were vague. Be warned that this place is highly negligent and not following basic protocols.

This place was terrible to my aunt. She contracted a UTI, and bed sore upon being discharged. She was supposed to be getting rehab services and came home with the same issues, UTI and a bedsore. I would never leave anyone at this facility. The social worker barely answered the phone and follow up was terrible. I called every day to check on my aunt and no one was even feeding her the food I dropped off. This place should be renamed " The Krueger Residence."

My brother had to be taken to Bellevue Hospital. While he was there, he had two separate surgeries. He stayed at Bellevue Hospital for a few weeks and tested negative for Covid-19. I don’t believe they would have performed two surgeries, many days apart, had he tested positive for Covid-19 at any time. Once he was better from his surgeries at Bellevue Hospital, he needed to be transferred to a rehabilitation facility. We opted for BUENA VIDA CONTINUING CARE and he was taken there on December 23, 2020. When he arrived at Buena Vida, he was tested for Covid-19, even though he tested negative, due to the Covid-19 procedures, he was placed in quarantine for 14 days. After the 14 day quarantine was over on January 7th, 2021 and before being transferred to a non-Covid floor, he was tested again for Covid-19; this time he tested POSITIVE. Buena Vida starting treating him for Covid-19. I called Buena Vida many times and they would always reassure me that he wasn’t doing “too bad”. He just had a cough, but no fever. However, he must have been very sick from the Covid-19 because he had to be transferred back to Bellevue Hospital. The 7th fl. staff, at Buena Vida, must have known and seen that my brother, was in fact, very ill from Covid-19, so why didn’t they send him to Bellevue Hospital sooner?? When my brother was taken to Bellevue Hospital, I was informed he had arrived with low-level oxygen and a pneumonia, and might not make it through the next few days. According to Bellevue Hospital, they did everything they could to help my brother. But my sweet brother became another victim of this horrible virus and also the victim of Buena Vida facility’s negligence which led to his passing away from Covid-19 on January 18, 2021. I still have many unanswered questions, how did my brother contract Covid-19 at Buena Vida when he had already tested negative at Bellevue Hospital those weeks before and at Buena Vida Rehab upon admittance, so what happened? According to Buena Vida, they followed Covid-19 procedures. And the family was not allowed to see/visit him ever, so then, how did he contract Covid-19? From the Buena Vida staff??? Another major question: Why did the staff wait for my brother to fall very ill and weak from Covid-19 to then take him to Bellevue hospital? Why the long wait before taking the action that could have saved his life? Since the funeral homes contacted will not take him due to Covid-19, he had to be cremated. I was unable to see him or say my final goodbye. I want answers from Buena Vida. I strongly believe they are responsible for my brother contracting Covid-19 and ultimately lead to his death.

My experience was great and refreshing. I’ve been here many times for family and friends, I’ve worked in the building but not for buena vida and the staff have always been helpful.

My father was transferred from Bellevue to Buena Vida on January 4th 2021. He was Covid negative, he was placed in a room with a patient who had recently had the virus. No one answers the phones there. I left messages for administration, social worker and nursing manager no phone call returned. Also, I called daily for updates with very little luck. On the 13th they called to tell us he was Covid positive and he had a fever. No update the 14th today the 15th they called to say he is being transfers back to Bellevue hospital because his oxygen is low and he has chills and diahrrea. So, due to their negligence he just went there to get the virus.

This rehab center is very good. They help my aunt Romona Santiago and she is currently still there. They have spectacular service and I am so proud to have to my aunt staying at there facility. They gave me and my grandmother FREE rides from queens to Brooklyn. We have had an all round GREAT experience. They have definitely sufficed my appetite for a good rehab center.

My great grandmother has been placed in this rehab center for a few weeks now. I have to say that they have been nothing but helpful during her time there. They have been caring for my grandmother in a finely manner. When I asked my grandmother about her stay there she has stated that they have been nothing but nice, supportive and have been attentive on her recovery.

So far the therapy has been great. They've helped my mom start walking again. They treat my mom well and room/bathroom looks pretty clean. When it comes to food and cleanliness, it's terrible! The sink and ice machines are nasty full of mold and mildew. The food and drinks are inadequate. The juices are super sweet. I've never in my entire life tasted sweet cranberry juice until I took a sip of my moms juice. I wanted to know why she wasn't drinking it. Why are these elderly patients being feed white bread? Most of the food is straight up nasty and not appropriate for elderly patients. Luckily my mom has friends nearby that food to her. I added a star to my rating because, I emailed them and was contacted the next morning to try to resolve the issues. I encourage anyone who has any concerns to not be afraid to speak up. They are friendly, professional and will work with you to address your concerns.

These nurse are very poorly train. These nurses don’t care about your love one and they don’t love their job. They will allow your love one to beg for assistance and they will only work on their own time and do what they please. Please don’t bring your love ones here, they will just kill them.

The care fair, however every time I visit my father his room floor seems to be sticky. I have requested it several times for it to be cleaned. The nursing staff is very friendly and always polite with great bed side manners. I always vary the times I visit to experience different staff and observe their interactions with my father and other patients.

This facility used to be a five star facility. It has tremendously declined in regards to the care of the residents and upkeep of the facility. I used to be at ease, knowing that my family member would be well taken care of if i missed a few visits. Now I try not to miss any days visiting. There are many times the CNA's do not have enough supplies as well as not having enough CNA's to provide proper care to the residents.

It is not an easy decision putting a loved one into a home but at Buena Vida it is easier. I took a tour and found that it was clean and the staff was so knowledgeable and sweet. I never thought I would enjoy visiting any nursing home but I must say I really enjoy visiting this one.

My brother is admitted to this facility such a horrible customer service from the front desk to the nurse supervisor. I called 5 times from Florida to see if I can speak with a nurse well aware of the HIPA Law. The front desk lady was so rude the last thing she told me I don't know what's wrong with this damn people I told her there's no nurse on the 7th floor when I m, asked for her name she really went outrage I, request to speak with a nurse supervisor was transfer to CAROLINE which was NO HELP AT ALL. I explained to her I was trying to see how my brother was doing, I told her what happened with the front desk lady. Caroline told me she couldn't help me she had another call on hold if I wanted I can call back to see if anyone answer the phone on the floor I told her I would contact the administration department and she hang the phone. I wonder is this is how rude and disrespectful their staff are over the phone I, can't imagine how they are treating my brother and other patients?

I have seen other comments but my grandmother was on the 7th floor. She passed away within 4 to 5 days being there when she was supposed to be discharged April for a skin condition. How she passed they don't even know i kept telling them something was wrong and they just said she was tired. They messed up here big time. You not suppose to die in rehab. they need more staffing to. The city is so wrong that they don't provide enough staff for nursing home facilities and rehabs. But then you go to the private hospitals there are a lot more staff. Medical doesn't so much for the less fortunate. Clearly shows.
