Pointlessly poncy A wannabe gastro pub that thinks it's clever to serve 15 French fries in an overgrown egg cup. Over priced and underwhelming used to be and still should be locals pub. There's nowhere to park nearby either. I have no idea what demographic they're aiming for. I doubt it will be there for long.

I visited the Connaught with my family for a meal, it was a Monday afternoon and whilst the pub and the garden were quietly buzzing the restaurant was empty apart from one couple, so the kitchen and waiting staff were not exactly rushed off …

Really nice pub with an open wood fire, feels all nice and cosy. The bar staff are always friendly but the table service is a huge let down. Moody waitress, apparently asking for extra mushy peas (only a sludge accompanying fish and ships) …

This place was recommended to me by neighbours....I don't know why! To say it's NAFF is an understatement. Loud, mindless musak and indifferent staff. I suppose the clientele is self-selecting! Shame, because Brakespears used to be a good brewery.

Nice looking pub with a spacious and sunny beer garden. Expensive like many others.
