Great atmosphere. The drinks quite suck, there's no food available (apart from crisps) but it doesn't matter, you'll soon understand why this is the best pub in Brighton & Hove and possibly of all the south coast.

Hipster Hove at it's best, located on the main commercial thoroughfare where it meshes seamlessly into Brighton. With a wide range of drinkables, eclectic decor (junk shop chic) and a varied cultural programme, it transports you to North Laine or environs without having to battle your way past Churchill Square shopping central. Well worth a visit, even if it is too wander around the nooks and crannies and marvel at the oddities. This advice kind of applies to the whole town, in my view.

A lovely pub with a unique atmosphere. Good entertainment if not a little pretencious. Nice drinks but is a little pricey. Just a warning that it can also be a bit dark with very low lighting!

It's really small when you get in, but as you take a walk down the stairs you'll find other rooms that can accommodate groups. They can organise movie nights too, which is a great idea. Good choice of beers

The Bee's Mouth is a strange place. That's not to say it's bad, it's not, it's great. There are lots of beers to choose from and lots of space inside.
There's even a super strong mulled wine at Christmas.

How the mighty have fallen
My partner and I love the bees mouth. Or should I say, we loved the bees mouth. We visited the establishment recently and were not only greeted with bar staff who were uninterested with us but made us feel like certain insects one squashes without a second thought. Hardly the attitude that we had come to expect from one if our favourite establishments in Brighton. My only recommendation would be; to jump into your DeLorean and visit The Bees Mouth a few short months ago and enjoy your experience there as a valued customer. If however you wish to be treated the same as a person in a wetherspoon's style ledger then please do visit. They would be happy for your custom. But please do not voice your wish of a bar with the guts to be different. For you will not find it here. Such a shame. Another of Brighton's holy grail pubs past on to management who no longer care...

It's a very strange place. The bartenders are fantastic and the service is great! I wouldn't be rushing back though as the clientèle can be very rowdy and the venue is often over crowded.

The compere at the open mic is extremely inconsiderate . . . deaf to your wishes for the set up, and, if in any way you take your time because you are not an impatient ego maniac speed freak; he just says "play, play!" and goes out the room leaving all the instruments imbalanced and sounding like some of them aren't even on. Good audience though and most seem really nice spirited people.
I think it depends if the compere takes a liking to you or not.
Luckily someone ran out after we had gone and said he really liked the music but the levels were all wrong and it was wrong of the compere to be so impatient and not listen to our needs and go out of the room. He suggested "yes, play again, play loads, but not at the bees mouth."
