I booked my car in for the MOT at Halfords Shoreham and despite being on lockdown i felt very safe. The staff are very friendly, helpful and keep you informed. I cannot fault the service given in any way. Also the price for an MOT is good.

Visited this store in Shoreham due to the recently closed Worthing branch and found it to be busy, pretty unhelpful staff, and a somewhat chaotic bicycle department which was overwhelmed with people and staff which were easily distracted by other people (customers and staff). Not a pleasant experience at all, and works actively go out of my way to visit this store again unless a strong reason compelled me to. Disappointing, especially as the Worthing branch was far better.

Total con artists. One time I went in there my power steering wasn't working, a mechanic told me to go on a long drive to power up the battery which still had a lot of juice, and when I spoke to the manager at the desk they told me I needed a new battery £100 plus!! Another time I had an issue with my wipers, and they said I needed a new part for £125 - I got a second opinion from another garage who fixed it, a fuse, for FREE. Avoid, go local.

I don't know where to begin with this review. My mother in law has been using Halfords service in Shoreham by Sea for many years. She took her car in recently for a MOT test. Jason from the service desk called her to say that her vehicle had failed the test due to rubber gaiter being split on a track rod end. He also advised that the 2nd track rod end rubber gaiter was perished and that it needs to be removed to replace the one that had failed. She agreed to have the work done at a cost of £188. They called her back 30 minutes later to say that the brake pads were very low and the discs were heavily corroded. These were not even mentioned on the MOT advisory sheet. They wanted to charge her a additional £240 to replace the pads and discs. She agreed to have the work done as Jason said that they would not let her take the vehicle away until the brakes were replaced as dangerous to drive. She then called me to explain what the repair costs were going to be and how they would not let her take the vehicle away. I called them and spoke to Jason on the service reception and asked him about the repairs. He said the same thing to me about having to remove the 2nd track rod end to gain access to the one that had failed the test at which point I mentioned to him that I was a mot tester and vehicle technician for 20 years and what he was telling me was actually incorrect. He then changed the way he was speaking to me as clearly he knew what I was talking about. I then asked him about the brakes and he informed me that he thought they had already been removed from the vehicle and were awaiting the new parts. I asked him to go and check if they were definitely removed to which he said yes and that he told the technician carrying out the repair to fit the old ones back on as I was going to replace the pads and discs myself for a cost of £64 and not the £240 they were going to charge her. I asked him why he said to my mother in law that she could not drive the vehicle away until all of the repairs were done and he said that he didn't say that. This is not something my mother in law would make up. She collected the vehicle and drove it straight to me for the brake repair. As soon as I removed the wheel I could clearly see that the brakes had NOT been removed and refitted as Jason said. There was rust on the the disc retaining screw and a build up of brake dust on the caliper sliders. I'm unsure as to why Jason would lie to a valued customer saying that parts had been removed from the vehicle when clearly they had not. I've told her to take her vehicle elsewhere now for the MOT test as clearly Halfords are a company not to be trusted.

Couldn't help me as they said my car needed someone with a certain skill set and they didn't have the tools (supposed to be a car motor garage) twice my car has been there and twice it's me to call them to see what has happened to my car they should have the decency to let me know not the other way around the 1st time I took it down on the Mon and it wasn't looked at until the weds afternoon n not ready until the Thurs and that was only because I stressed the urgency for the vehicle for a hosp appointment up London on the Fri , they dnt let u know what is happening or even when they will do it by offering a timeframe they expect you to call them and find out but don't be surprised if your vehicle doesn't get done when you would it expect it to be will NOT BE TAKING my vehicle there again nor any of my children who have cars will be taking it there will go to Brighton if ever need be

Booked in and pre-paid online for full service and MOT. Round trip 40 miles and £15 diesel (big truck). Told me they were too busy to do it, (complete shambles in there, other customers moaning) No warning, no email, no phone call. Left my keys on unattended desk. So I asked for my money back. Customer services were great though and Horsham Halfords was a completely different experience. Go to Horsham and give Shoreham a huge swerve.

Took my vehicle for major service and MOT. Halfords Auto centre Shoreham highlighted an issue and told me it would be £370 to repair. Part of this quote was £115 for 1 particular OME part which sounded like a lot and I needed 2. I called the VW dealer and the same part was £29 for the genuine VW one! Had my vehicle fixed at the VW dealer instead for £170 in total, saved £200 from the Halfords quote. They either a rip off or don’t know what they doing, Won’t be going back there !

One of the few places that were able to assist me with a refill of the air con gas in my car (it takes the newer 'Environmentally friendly gas which tends to be very expensive and lot of places don't stock it because of the cost). They booked me straight in for the next day at a time of my preference and completed the refill/service in 3hrs as promised at a very reasonable cost. Staff very polite and helpful, would recommend.

Can' fault this garage at all. Recently switched to halfords because I can get vouchers through work, and I have not been disappointed. I have now had a service, MOT, had all new brakes and new tyres fitted at this halfords autocentre. Every time it has been done efficiently, quickly and with great customer service. I would recommend it to anyone that needs work done. Easy online booking system!

Took car for an MOT it failed on a tyre that I knew it would, Manager got the hump that I didn't wait around for his overpriced quotes for a tyre and £25 for 1 advised wiper blade, so wrote on the invoice that I was rude and aggressive and left without paying, I had payed already online and didn't even speak to him , I just said can I have my keys and he said its failed , I said I know and I left ! I got the same tyre for £110 cheaper than they sell it for elsewhere and head office refunded me the MOT cost and offered me a re test at another store for free plus gave me £50 goodwill towards the cost of the tyre for his unprofessional conduct !! I took the £50 and used it to get the test booked in at a different garage! Have always used Halfords but will never again and advise no one does !! He had also allowed another customer in the small reception who was not wearing a face covering !!
