Excellent communication all the way through MOT and service - however when I collected the car the seats and door cards where marked with grease. The Manager apologized and is rectifying today - but was not happy to receive my car back in that condition.

Great guys had my tracking checked with them when I booked the wrong day due to my partner working swapping my appointment was not a problem at all. They were happy with my tracking and brakes so no charge but said they would happy recheck if I was worried about it

At the beginning of the year, I had a minor accident where my car skidded on some ice and I had crashed into the kerb. The AA took my car to this auto centre who said that my car would be written off as the damages were over £4000 and my suspension, drivershaft and gearbox were apparently broken.
I then had to claim through my insurance. The garage who my insurance approved said the damages only equated to £1300 and there was nothing wrong with the gearbox. As a result my insurance premiums are now higher for a job I could have paid for myself rather than having to claim through my insurance for because of this auto centre. I’m incredibly unimpressed and would never recommend using them.

Just a really poor experience. Bad customer service and I decided not to have the work done eventually. Sick and tired of having the excuse -"we are busy" given all the time. Yes I appreciate it is a Saturday, if you struggle to accommodate jobs, then don't let me book them in. Typical case of book as much in, get as much money as possible, not worry about the rest.

I would not recommend them. Failed my car on its MOT as one of the headlight beams were too low and then tried charging £16 to turn a screw a quarter of an inch along with another £20 for the re-test. They're looking for work so avoid.

Absolutely awful, the worst place I've been to. Booked in for 8.30am appointment on Saturday, expecting two free checks to be done relatively quickly (as they open at 8.30), only to be told it will take several hours ... ended up eventually getting my car back at 11.30! I assume that when you book in for an 8.30 appointment, that is when they check it ... I was wrong. Got a phone call to say they thought my wheel bearings needed "urgent attention" but I told them to put the car back together as I didn't want them to do anything right then. From that point the staff were rude, cold and unfriendly. Once they realised they weren't getting any money from me they couldn't be bothered to be polite (or even park my car in a space in a busy public car park properly!!! Took up FOUR spaces when they parked my car in a free space 4 feet away!!). Was told they'd call me when they'd put my wheels back on but they couldn't be bothered to. When I eventually decided to go and see what was taking so long, the staff member serving me was rude. Ran through the problems (which they quoted over £600 worth of work when I passed my MOT only 2 months ago). Told me "You do realise the worn bearings need urgent attention don't you, they will be making a very loud noise when you drive", told him they don't make any noise and staff replied "Well you've not been listening then have you" - rude and sarcastic, totally unnecessary behavior. Am definitely getting a second opinion from an HONEST party, will almost certainly say there is nothing wrong - in which case I will see how much further I can take this. Will NEVER go back again, and neither will any of my family, friends or anyone who reads this review hopefully. BEWARE!! They're just looking for work.

Wasn't best pleased with quality and level of service. Wanted brakes fixing and was told would be in touch before work done. No call till towards end of day and told need new brakes. (Knew this already). I authorize work and then was told right at end of day that no parts available. Was not pleased at all. Infact so annoyed i cancelled the job and re-booked with a different Garage. Was told that staff member had resigned, which as a customer didn't give me any confidence in business if staff leave.. Will not use again nor return in future.

Had the vehicle booked at 13:00, dropped it at 12.30 as they say it is better to bring it earliest.
The car was put on the ramp at 16.00 wich was ridiculous,had i known it,i would have left.I suppose they should have told me that...
Good points: it was a free check,t th mechanics were knowledgeable.
Bad points: no waiting room and i had to go to MacDonald's because it was pouring outside,i was quoted 762 pounds for the complete renewal of the exhaust and i got a quote for 550 at my local garage-guess where i went....
All in all,the idea was good,but everything is over-stretched,practically i think Halfords is going the way of Maplin and Toys-r-us. I really hoped this would work out,but i would only go back if it was the last option on Earth

I was really disappointed with my last visit on 5 September, I had booked an MOT which was carried out and the car passed. I was told that there was an advisory for a possible EGS (clutch) leak and quoted £329 for them to investigate. I declined their offer and have investigated it myself to discover there is no leak. Moreover, on driving away I noticed a definite wobble from the front wheels which I suspected was a wheel balance issue, that hadn't been there when I dropped off the car. I contacted customer services regarding the issue, and was referred back to the autocentre who said it couldn't have been them but they would have a look. On taking the car back to them the following day, they looked at their notes from the MOT and told me it was likely to be a clutch issue without so much as glancing at the car, I explained that I had already checked the clutch myself and found no issues with it. As they were so determined to blame my clutch I decided to take my car to a tyre specialist centre (different company) who confirmed that the wheels were indeed unbalanced, and they had them fixed in no time.
I am now going to be very wary of Halfords having previously used them several times without issue.
