I have old Vw LT and wanted to change squeaky control arm bushings and asked for alignment as well.
Garage did job quickly and didn't charge me for alignment of wheels, because it was fine. Professional people who know what they doing. Going to see them again for sure.

Best car garage around - they have fixed my old car so many times. Always accomodating and manage to fit me on the same day. I don't know much about cars but I'm never made to feel stupid. Prices are really reasonable. Really friendly and professional business.

I rolled up with a flat tire, Stuart and the guys where so professional and fast. They got my wheel back to its former glory and on my way in 30 min and didn’t charge me anything.
I couldn’t recommend them more for fast, friendly and professional service.

These guys are brilliant. They always look after us and give the best advice. They are always keen to find cheap solutions rather than bill you for expensive parts you don't need. They like the challenge of actually fixing your car and getting you back on the road. Super helpful and friendly.

This garage is THE BEST! I own an old van for my business and these guys have always sorted out any issues to a very high standard, in an extremely timely manner and with amazing customer service! They will always try and do the work as quickly as possible and try to keep the cost down for the customer, so I really trust that I'm never being ripped off with Portslade MOT. They're also a really friendly lot and in the year that I've owned my van, I've come to them for anything I need and they're always happy to help, and even do some smaller jobs free of charge for regular customers. 100% recommend. First, I must say, these guys are friendly and good mechanics. The reason for the low rating is because of an unforgivable lack of information and customer care. I left my van with them to MOT on a Saturday, I waited 2 hours for a call to say its done only to discover they closed for the day and had gone home without calling me. I was left without my vehicle or keys all weekend, I couldn't do half the things I needed to do and had to wait until Monday to collect. I am supposed to be at work at 8 on Monday and this made me late for work and I lost 1 hours pay, all because they couldn't pick up a phone, or even forewarn me that they closed at 12.30 on Saturdays. If they had attempted to call me and I had missed the call then that would be on me but they never even tried to call. The inconvenience caused and the unsettling concern of knowing my van is away from my property and I don't even know how it's being stored or how safe it is, is not an experience a good company should be putting their customers through. This level of poor customer service is unacceptable and I am afraid I have lost my trust in the company.

Did an mot. My car failed . They fixed it. I had problems after but as a good will gesture they fixed for free even though it had nothing to do with the work they did. I'm sure they remember the blue miss fireing auldi Loveley bunch of professionals. Really recommend them , they strive to do there best for you. Old school banter and manners. Thanks you ????????

Took car in for Mot, they called within the timescale promised and gave a quote for works, no complaints and would definitely recommend! Managed to get my car fixed and MoT passed so I got my car back quicker than expected. Great customer service and communication :) and will definitely use again. Proof is in the pudding, just see how many other cars are waiting for them to do their magic! Thank you to all at Portslade MoT Centre!

Avoid like the plague! My partner took the car down here a month before his MOT was due for fixtures to prevent the car failing it. Luckily no more than £200 later they claimed everything was fixed and it will pass the MOT.
Fast forward a month later, the MOT comes round and it's all booked in. The car is dropped off and we're told we will get it back the same day as we need it for work. It comes to 5:00, and we haven't heard anything and we have to be at work at 6:00. My partner calls them and they haven't got round to it (could've told us earlier). We pick up the car and told to bring it the next day and it'll be a priority. We drop it off first thing in the morning - and by 5:30 it's still not done. By this time, it was illegal for my partner to drive on the road as his MOT had expired.
We drop it off the next day and they finally fix it, some things are still wrong apparently and my partner's charged another £180.
Not even two weeks later, we have a tyre puncture. We get it looked at at two different garages, as the former was quite expensive. However both confirmed that all of the other tyres had an illegal tread. Surely this is something that would have been picked up on an MOT not even two weeks ago!
In summary, I would not waste your time or your money on this ridiculous garage.

Emma was amazing accommodating me. On the day. Guys were friendly they even watched my puppy. I would go back there and in fact will get my timing belt looked at and will give feedback afters. They were the only one out of 4 other places that could take my 3 metre high Toyota Hiace.

I took my car back here to have a continuous battery problem sorted, after diagnosis I was told the battery was needing replacement, 95 +VAT, I told them it was only 4 months old, they traced where , and whom I purchased it from, which wasnt their garage, replaced battery under a warranty I didnt know I even had, they did all of that for FREE!?!?! No charge?!?!? Not had that sort of service b4! Gave them a tip, ( dont saw wood in a rubber dinghy!) Lol, BIG SHOUT OUT THANKS!!! From car plate ending SUX ....

Well the reviews are good on google , but the experience is somewhat another story, the garage its self is basically a dungeon, but because the reviews were good went in and took my vehicle for a Mot test, as a women as soon as i walked in felt very awkward, the lady on the reception was pleasant, but the owner or manager was very over familiar, the workshop staff as i walked out were cursing at each other, the whole experience just seemed very intimating, my 3 year old vehicle failed its Mot, this I found surprising, and was quoted over £250 for repairs to pass.
I declined the quote & went elsewhere for a second opinion I used this other garage before but they didn't have spaces on Saturday , where the vehicle PASSED !!
So the old saying goes , you pay for service , Not so at Portslade Mot beware.

Fantastic Garage, run by genuine lovely people who are really interested in looking after you and your vehicle. I've been coming to them for a couple of years, and they're always happy to try and accommodate me, and work to tight schedules when I need the van back quickly for work. Cannot recommend highly enough.

If you want to find a well managed, friendly and honest establishment for all you vehicle needs, look no further. They are always ready to help and go that step further to solve more complicated problems, all with excellent service. Prices are realistic and can be trusted in my experience. My family and I, with 3 cars, have been customers since moving to the area from London 4 years ago, never found any better motor engineers there.

First time visit for a couple of break pads. Very friendly, honest and helpful. Turns out I needed to replace the brake discs also, but Stuart explained why and showed me the fault after he replaced the part. Very pleased with the service, price was reasonable and will definitely return. Excellent garage!

Having just moved to the area I chose this garage for my MOT based on the great reviews they have, and I wasn't disappointed. The lady who answered the phone was efficient, the MOT was easy to book, was a good price, and everyone I had contact with was friendly. Fast forward a month to today and someone goes into the back of my car while I was parked and the boot would no longer close, in a panic I took it back here to ask their opinion, and they managed to get the boot mechanism working again, even though I had no appointment PHEW! Can not recommend enough!

Fantastic service at all times. After a panic call at 4:30pm they happily took my car in to test it, informed me of what needed doing and gave me a quote. My car was ready to collect the very next day and the price was a near perfect match to the quote. I have always found this garage to be honest, polite and helpful. I thoroughly researched local garages before taking my van here, and I am really pleased that I chose Portslade MOT and service Centre. I needed an MOT for my van, and right on the day I was to take it in, a problem developed with the door latch. Stuart and his team thoroughly evaluated the vehicle and fixed the latch and what was needed for the MOT. I was extremely pleased with everything about the experience. The staff are highly qualified and helpful, and look for the best value of money. The jobs were done on time and at a very fair price.
I normally do not write reviews, but the exceptional service I received compelled me to write this one. I can recommend this garage wholeheartedly as a very wise choice for your vehicle.

Working in the area asked a local builder whom lives here was recommended Portslade MOT . Phoned yesterday morning I needed a wheel bearing Lady on the phone was super efficient took my number said she would call back shortly ........ 5 mins later a price was given I agreed and she booked me in , I dropped Van off this morning met Stuart ( quite a character) he booked me in called me a taxi to get me back to work, I was called later on to say job was completed and I could collect.
Whilst booking in I said I thought there was a puncture in the front nearside this was fixed FOC can’t say thank you enough for a quick professional job

Portslade MOT and Service Centre did a full engine rebuild for me on my Volkswagen Golf. They are the only garage in the area who still have the skills to do this. I asked several well know garages in East and West Sussex and they were the only ones who would accept the challenge. I was actually going to to scrap it until someone recommended this garage to me. It now runs like a new car. Friendly polite service and old school attention to service. I can't recommend them enough.
