Ingles and Hayday recently handled the sale of our mother's violin. From our first meeting with Paul, to finalization of sale, we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Tim and Paul at Ingles & Hayday are absolutely the best. They are great listeners, and have an instinct for helping artists (musicians like myself) smoothly on their journey in searching for a bow or an instrument they will come to treasure and love for a long time.
I have been at Ingles & Hayday picking out instruments for a private instrument trust. I have also been so fortunate to be referred to a Lamy bow frog (its stick had suffered damage) through Ingles & Hayday, which I had really needed at the time, in order to have a second frog.
My most recent search for a top instrument was also made so much more pleasant, reassuring and peaceful, with the great array of top instruments Ingles & Hayday had in store for me to meet and their absolute commitment to helping artists.
I will go back to Ingles & Hayday anytime, in order to have my bow and instrument needs fulfilled :) !

I have known Tim and Paul for many years and have always found them incredibly knowledgeable but more importantly, from a performers perspective, courteous and generous with their time. As players, performers and soloists we become captivated by many esoteric aspects of an instrument and they both guide and steer you through the complicated process of finding the perfect violin (in my case) without rushing or pressurising the decision. Their support staff are equally fabulous.

The fantastic selection of instruments is displayed in a glass ceilinged room allowing natural light to see the true beauty of the instruments. Tim Ingles and Paul Hayday provide the sort of personal Service (with a Capital S) that most other companies could only aspire to; Sothebys certainly did the right thing by outsourcing their musical instruments department to these two; they are both very knowledgeable, with an inbuilt sense of how to make Sellers (and Buyers) relax, with a feeling that they are now in safe hands. In the disposition of my late Uncle, Bob Lewin's instruments, they have provided invaluable and discreet advice, greatly to the advantage of the beneficiary charity, Awards for Young Musicians (AYM). Vom Tag der ersten Schätzung vor über 20 Jahren in München bis zur Auktion in London 2018 zeichneten sich Mr Ingles und sein Team durch Präzision, Zuverlässigkeit, Kompetenz, sowie Herzlichkeit, Gewissenhaftigkeit und Unkomplizertheit aus. Als Laien waren wir auf Hilfe angewiesen und bekamen nie das Gefühl, unsere Fragen oder Bedenken würden nicht ernst genommen. Sehr vertrauenswürdig und präzis vom Tag der Schätzung der Geige in Zürich bis zur Auktion in London. Zudem erreichte die Scarampella einen Erlös, welcher deutlich über dem Schätzwert lag. Am meisten hat mich die angenehme und maßgeschneiderte und unkomplizierte Kommunikation (auf deutsch!) mit Ingles&Hayday in London beeindruckt. Insgesamt eine sehr schöne Erfahrung.
