I went to all the outdoor shops on Southampton St looking for a large hiking bag. Ellis Brigham had by far the best selection.
The hands down best thing about the shop is Gopal, Its very rare that you meet someone like him. He's an incredibly nice guy who really knows his stuff. He isnt pushy in anyway and gives first class advice.
Not only will i take his advice on the bag, ill also go bag to get his perspective on the other bits of kit that i need and buy all my stuff from there.

I wanted a particular jacket in a size they didn't have in store. So they ordered in and put on hold for me, but when I called to arrange collection (after only 3 days!) they had sold it. They weren't even sorry. Now I have to find another jacket two days before going away. Don't bother going here. Very unhelpful.

I visited the store this weekend to try and find a pair of walking boots and I was very impressed with the level of service I received. This was due to expert help I received from Gopal . He spent approximately an hour with me looking at different types of boots to fit my requirements . He was very patient and knowledgeable about the products he was selling . He began by using a thermal image to my feet to find out more about them and then through a process of elimination we eventually found a pair that ticked all the boxes and I left confident that my new boots will get me through my three peak challenge comfortably!

I went in to Ellis Brigham Covent Garden with my boyfriend at the weekend to start preparing for our round the world trip. We were feeling a little bit unsure where to start so lucky for us, Gopal was there to give us his expert advise! He spoke from experience of his own travels and he was so passionate about what he does! He helped pick the best rucksacks and pretty much everything else we'd need for our trip, showed us how everything fitted, as well as giving us little tips on places to go and see while on our trip :) He gave honest opinions for what would be best for our trip and didn't try and up sell at any point. His knowledge is so impressive and SO helpful. We left feeling like we could leave for our trip tomorrow! Over all it was a great experience and would recommend Ellis Brigham to anyone!

Went here for the Vertical Chill Ice Climbing. It was good fun the ice wall was around 2 storeys tall, high enough to give you a good go at climbing the wall. The wall had a ledge which was in development, should be complete soon enough.
The total time per session was 1 hour, with 2 people in the session. Only one person is able to tackle the wall at a time.
The staff were great, helpful by giving tips when climbing, and also trying their best to help make it much more challenging.
Started with 2 ice picks going up the standard path, moving onto 2 ice picks over the part with a ledge and finalising with trying to go up the standard path with only 1 ice pick.
After the experience we were given a card, which if 3 sessions are taken then the 4th is free.
Will definitely do it again, overall would recommend to others.

Great selection of kit and super staff, but sadly the stock levels are a bit broken as it seems all the other stores just steal stock from this store (which is the main one). Otherwise excellent for working out what you need and buying it.

Des the manager was very helpful ensuring that my problem feet ( needing high toe box) were suited with Meindel mountain boots that had the advantage of needing little breaking in. This was after trying on 6 or 7 different boots of different styles, widths and sizes.

Fantastic shop. The staff is very professional and experienced of outdoor activities. Of course they charge a bit more than if you would go online and find your product, but their expertise is totally worth paying a bit extra for. I will recommend Ellis in Covent Garden to my friends, and also like to send a special thanks to "Des" in the store who helped me find the perfect swimrun shoe.

You can tell this is a really well-managed store. If you compare this store with some other outdoor stores nearby, the difference is striking. It's got a really good range of products, the layout changes a lot, but is always clear.
But most importantly, I really like the staff here. The staff here are genuinely nice and helpful. They are neither like Snow+Rock staff who patronise you with their opinion on what you should get, nor Cotswolds staff who really don't know what they are talking about. Everyone here seems to be friendly, earnest, honest, but also really knowledgeable about outdoor stuff. Every time I'm in this store, someone helps me. Every time I'm in Cotswolds, all the staff are helping the customers buying the most expensive waterproof boots they will wear once.

Probably the largest ski equipment shop in town, certainly the biggest in central London. Two floors of ski, snowboard and mountain clothing and equipment. The snowboard selection in particular is one of the most extensive I have seen anywhere.

Gopal helped me find boots that fit my needs, price-point, and style (not many outdoors specialists consider this, but I'm just not going to buy pink boots so I appreciated this). Once again I have been impressed by the quality of service found at the Ellis Brigham shop in Covent Garden. Gopal and Daniele spent a lot of time helping us choose the right boot for my daughter. They were attentive, helpful and polite. They offered information, anecdotes and advice to enable us to come to the right decision. Unfortunately the shop was out of stock for the size boot we needed. We went to another shop very nearby which did have the boots but the staff were listless and patronising and we could not bear to give our money to them. Ellis Brigham - we will be back!

I ordered a SALE item only to be told there not in stock !!
It appears that this a way for the company to get people to buy stuff ! They get you to think you’re getting a good deal, hoping you’ll buy another product along with the sale item (which isn’t in stock). Then they inform you that only the full price item is available hoping you’ll accept that and if lucky they’ll chuck a measly 10% off !!
To top it off the item on sale that they have no stock of is still being advertised on the website !!
I hope i’m being cynical in my judgement !!
