I used to hate going to the dentist until I went to the Surrenden Dental Practice. All the staff are incredibly kind, reassuring and professional. I don’t think anyone ever enjoys going to the dentist but I can honestly say it doesn’t bother me now. I highly recommend this practice and friends who I’ve recommended are delighted too.

I cannot speak highly enough of my dentist Ed O'Toole and my hygienist Jenny who provide the most friendly, professional and highly skilled treatment and care in pleasant and spotlessly clean surroundings. They and their dental nurses are welcoming and reassuring and have the gift of making one feel at ease. I must also thank the lovely receptionists for always being so helpful and accommodating.

I was a patient of Ed O'Toole for several years when I lived in Brighton and was always impressed by his dentistry and amused by his great sense of humour. I returned to Ed over the extended Xmas period in 2020 as I couldn't access my dentist in Steyning. I was able to get an appointment at very short notice through his very efficient staff. Again greatly impressed by the forensic attention to detail in diagnosing the source of my dental pain. Have now returned to Ed on a permanent basis- should have never have left his practice. Highly recommended- and I speak from over 50 years experience of dentists!.

The best dental surgeon I have ever had. Extremely professional and an excellent customer relationship. I always feel really at ease when I go to my appointments. All the staff are so helpful and kind. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I had an appointment this week and the surgery was above and beyond covid regulations, felt safe and patient health and well-being was paramount. Cant recommend highly enough.

Very professional dentist surgery with staff who have been there for a long time, a real team. My many treatments there have been achieved with great skill and I have enormous trust in my dentist, Ed O Toole. Never suffer any pain and work is meticulous and of the highest standard. All delivered with a sense of humour too!!

Ed O'Toole is an outstanding dentist. He listens carefully and is happy to debate the relative merits of treatments if there are alternative solutions to a problem. I feel really confident in his skills. He's also a very nice man and a bonus is his local weather-forecasting skills. The reception staff are also very helpful. Can't fault this practice.

Saw Dr Edmund O'Toole for a new crown and fix some old work from my childhood dentist. Perfect, painless and didn't even need anaesthetic which is a bonus. Happy smile and eating apples again! Thank you all.

I was dreading my appointment to remove a troublesome back molar. I needn’t have worried. Chris Roberts did a great job (as always) and the final extraction was short and sweet (no pain). He’s an excellent dentist and I have every confidence in his abilities. I have been going to Surrenden Dental Practice for a few years now and have had various treatments both simple and more complex. I particularly appreciate the time that Chris takes to talk through all the options available, show me the x-rays on the monitor, and explain the recommended procedure in detail when I need clarification. The dental nurses provide good calm backup and the receptionists are friendly and efficient. The appointment reminder system by email is great, and sometimes you get a phone call as well. The overall feel of the office is calm and professional. I fully recommend this dental practice.

I’ve been going to Surrenden Dental Practice for three years now and so do both my daughters. Ed is a fantastic dentist - thorough, honest, guiding and encouraging. The hygienist care is also second to none. My teeth were in a bit of a state when I first went and I was in a pain. With Surrenden’s advice, guidance, expertise and skill my teeth are now tip top.

I visited the dental surgery suffering with a very bad split tooth where the only viable option was to remove the tooth and stop the pain.
The dentist was very calm, explained what would happen and then carried out the a pain free and quick extraction.
I have not been a fan of dentists (lovely people) for a number of years and dreaded every visit, but Surrenden have restored my faith and I now believe that visit to the dentist does not need to be horror show and painful experience! Very good, would recommend and straight back to work after the removal. Excellent

Ed O’Toole is the most amazing dentist. Not only did he get me over my 25 year+ dentist phobia - he also performed a mind blowing root canal filling on a very arched root canal. A dental consultant I saw for another procedure said it was an amazingly skilled piece of work. Don’t hesitate to use this practice- the staff are all so caring and second to none.

A relaxed and friendly place. On several occasions over the years I have needed special treatment (broken front tooth, sudden infection flare-up, etc) and the reception staff have managed to get me appointments within 24 hours. Mr O’Toole, my dentist, is an experienced and knowledgable dentist and takes care to explain the various options for treatment in a common-sense way. In the same way, the dental hygienist is very efficient and offers useful, helpful advice.

As always, my recent visit to Surrenden Dental Practice was, all things considered, a pleasant experience. Chris explained the problem and dealt with it immediately giving advice for management and any future issues.
I have a small health insurance policy but forgot to ask Reception for an invoice. I emailed my request and they responded almost immediately.

Surrenden Dental practice is a world apart from any other practice I have been to.
Ever smiling reception team, friendly and professional hygienists and assistants and absolutely amazing Dentists at this practice. I am with Mr O'Toole who is absolutely brilliant. The whole setting is friendly, welcoming and geared to the needs of the patient.
My treatment was finalized after an initial consultation, a plan was laid out, pragmatic advice on why this particular course of treatment and also advised against some expensive work that was not deemed necessary.
The entire course of treatment has been a breeze, with no pain and due consideration given to my questions and concerns (Dentist was kind enough to walk me through a treatment as I was keen on knowing what exactly was being done). The reception team always follows up and reminds you in case treatment is pending.
I cannot recommend them enough as by far the best Dentist's I have ever been to - and I have been to a few.

I had 2 crown installed by mr Otoole Which caused me alot of pain due to him applying insufficient cement which left 2 big holes. He denied this stating it must be my fault. After 3 months of hell and going back many times it was clear they would not help resolve my new sharp pain. I had 2 very good dentists examine his work and both stated the same. Insufficient cement applied leaving 2 large holes as clear from the xrays they both took. I had to have a new crown fitted by a new dentist I trusted. Costing me £900+ 3 months after Otoole fitted it due to the pain. I had the 2nd crown replaced several months after he installed them as the pain was just unbearable I have 2x xrays showing his shabby work but still he will not accept any responsibility.
Very stressful trying to find a solution with this dentist . Please save yourself the grief.
My new crowns are completely painless.
