Is this one of my favorite places in London? Atmosphere is perfect (busy but cozy, intimate, and not loud). Food is amazing. Price is unbelievable.
My only criticism was dessert. Which I think didn't quite hit it right. But this is minor.

Busy and buzzy, Bancone delivers interesting and delicious pasta dishes swiftly. There's a good wine list, but the house plonk is great and staff are attentive and good fun. A fun, affordable and yummy location.

lovely vibe; trendy decor; nice layout/lighting/great service. however, the food was a bit disappointing :-/ and the music was SO loud, we could not speak to each other on our table - only to the person sitting directly next to you :-( such a shame

Superb wine list, pleasant atmosphere and elegant stem, glass, and tableware. Creative menu, although my bucatini was a bit over cooked and there was hardly any chervil in the dish (apologies for saying this here, I’m always too shy to complain to a server!). Espresso was a bit expensive but overall the dining experience was excellent.

The staff, location and atmosphere were all great. But the food portions were so incredibly small. I went there for lunch and it most definitely did not leave me full and therefore did not satisfy me. If the portions were large and therefore provided value for money. This would definitely be a 5 star.

Was quite disappointed tonight. I really wanted it to be brilliant. I'm a massive fan of Padella so was expecting the same level of quality, but our food tonight was quite bland and lacking in flavour. The menu was promising with a brilliant choice of Vegan and Vegetarian options too, but the flavour *just* wasn't there. Disappointing when the parmesan overpowers the truffle and the flavours don't come through.

Love a good Italian dish. This is a perfect place for a three course meal that's reasonably priced. Cosy restaurant I'd recommend anyday. Just book well in advance as its quite popular.

Excellent mid-week evening meal, the squid ink tagiolini was really very good, however it was the service that really made our evening. Gelkid was our waiter and it was the best service I've had in a long time, attentive, informed on the menu, and really enhanced our enjoyment of our evening. We will be back.

Lovely lunch at Bancone. Service was actually very good, which surprised us as we'd read the opposite recently from other guests. Pasta was out of this world and my fellow diners commented that the wine was nice. Waitress happy to offer advice on what I could and couldn't eat being pregnant, without being asked! Atmosphere was buzzing on a Friday lunchtime. Would return.

Excellent pasta, I particularly like the ragu and cacio pepe, the silk handkerchief in my opinion did not live up to the hype but it is still delicious nonetheless. The price for each dish is just unbeatable in places like London. Service is really fast and staff are friendly. I definitely recommend booking in advance as it gets crowded very quickly. Overall, very satisfied with my experience here and hope to come back again.

The food here is absolutely outstanding. Both the mains and the deserts were fantastic. The massive let down was the service.
We ordered the polenta for a anti pasti and it never arrived, when we asked (after the mains has arrived) the lady said I forgot about these and politely apologized so we let it go. Then it was a massive struggle to get the bill, we had to ask three times and we waited nearly as long as the dinner itself to get it.
The server would come up each time and ask whether we needed something and we would have to remind her... it got to a point where we almost wanted to say can we not pay the gratuity..

The food was simple flavours very well done, an Italian restaurant that isn't trying to be too flash but clearly above the mass appeal. It was pretty affordable as well at c.£95 for cocktails, wine, starter and main for two (not forgetting you're in central London there!!). Also the venue had a really good atmosphere and wasn't too loud.
The missing star was due to feeling a bit forgotten about by staff who we had to get hold of to order drinks and again food after waiting awhile too long. Otherwise very good experience

One of the best pasta I have ever had! Very tasty and creamy. The staff was welcoming and helpful and the atmosphere was friendly and nice. Toilets were quite clean as well. Highly recommend this place.

I was lucky enough to eat here not long after they launched, I knew that their intention was to recreate the success that Padella had achieved in London bridge.
Initially I was impressed by their vibrant pasta dishes that incorporated fresh ingredients and tried and tested Italian cooking traditions.
Upon my most recent visit this evening I was hugely disappointed to encounter two dishes that lacked that initial vibrancy,both appeared matt in appearance, almost stodgy in consistency and certainly lacking any form of glossy emulsion usually associated with authentic Italian pasta dishes.
The flavours that came though felt bland and rushed, whilst I certainly saw the cooks tasting the dishes before they were sent out it most certainly seemed to be focused around their most premium dish on the menu with fresh black truffle being the main feature.
As a passionate pasta cook it brought me great displeasure to encounter such sub standard cooking and until proven otherwise I see no reason to return to this over hyped establishment that apparently appears to be resting on its laurels .

Was wandering around Covent Garden around lunch time and decided to give this place a try since they offer cacio e pepe. This cacio e pepe may have been the best I’ve had outside of Italy. And at £9. You simply cannot beat that. Servers were kind and attentive as well.

Whole recipe of a restaurant done right. Service was prompt, food got to us quick, outstanding olives!, pastas were great, bustling atmosphere which we appreciated and of course, wonderfully affordable to boot. We didn't manage a reservation but still got a table after 20 minutes 8pm on a Friday. Must be our night!

Unfortunately we were disappointed with the quality of the food. Having eaten fresh pasta that blows you away in Italy, we had hoped that we would finally find it here In London given the great reviews this place had.
I ordered a few things, including the squid ink pasta which, as soon as it arrived, I could smell that the squid was not fresh and tasting it revealed it barely tasted of anything. The pasta also didn’t quite live up to expectations, not quite al dente, not quite flavoursome for pasta that is supposed to be fresh and handmade.
To be fair, I have to say the service was excellent and the venue and ambiance is very pleasant. It’s clearly a place where you might want to be seen at. But as someone who takes food very seriously, this is a let down.

I had pasta with prawns, was really delicious but mainly pasta as prawns were miniscule, about 2mm tops, could barely see them.
Also menu nothing else but pasta!
When i was invited for an Italia restaurant ( never been in this one before ) I assumed they had more than pasta , at least pizza , salads, some meats ....but nothing !
It's a very lazy but profitable approach to a Italian restaurant .
I won't came back.

Food was good but the service was lacking. We sat in the front corner and felt as if we were forgotten. Also a bit dissapointed that two of the ditches we ordered were sold out by 21:30. However, the staff did make up for if by comping a dish. Nice touch.
I would go back, but would hope that the service is improved in the future.

This restaurant is just great for pasta lovers. It's my fourth visit & every dish I've had has been great. The pricing is very reasonable. The wine list is good & the staff really work at making the experience welcoming.
