We were very disappointed with the portions we were served (incidentally we had a Greek waitress). I gave 2 stars for the beautifully, impressive restaurant but you need to leave satisfied the 4 of us came out hungry. I had 2 minute lambchops with 6 chips menu said roast potatoes and mushy peas which turned out to be a bit of pea juice for an extra £4 i got another 6 chips. If you have a reasonable appetite i suggest you give it a miss.

Popped in here after a few pints at The Chandos nearby. A classy restaurant to be sure, serving small plate 'tapas' style portions of Italian cuisine. Would suit coming with a group of friends, so you can share a wider variety of dishes, but works equally well as a pair of diners. Great food and friendly staff, would visit again!

The food at Fumo is delicious. Portions are not massive but the flavours and delicate textures of the food in addition to the ambience really do add to a great dining experience. I'll definitely be going back yet again.

Lovely Italian find. Truffle Ravioli was really good. 3 raviolis for £12. Asparagus with Parma ham was very savory. Beef medallion with Café de Paris butter needs more butter. I've tried the steak in cafe de paris and there should be more. A lot more. It was a very busy Sunday and service was slow. They missed one of our orders.

Very stylistic and looks good inside although disappointed with overall experience.
1) we weren't told or even given a menu of the deals where you can get 4-5 dishes for £16 and weren't told on how it works such as Nandos does when they ask you if you've ever been there before
2) portions were almost of kids size but charged as regular adult portions as you can see lasagna £9 in picture...theres no way someone can be filled up with their portions
3) too much staff walking around - dont know if they're chefs or waitors as most of them were wearing the white chef jackets
4) we said no mushroom on pizza and of course they put mushroom....we ordered chips but they never showed up
5) no bread given or offered as that takes away the Italian tradition
Overall the restaurant has potential as the small portioned food that we got was delicious but is not living up to the potential

Fumo is situated close to Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square. It's a large restaurant and the menu is Italian.
From the menu you are advised to pick 3 or 4 choices which when ready are brought out and you can share with your friends if you want too!
Service is generally quick, and they have a large range of drinks available.
We found the waiting staff attentive and friendly.
The bill was reasonable for London.
If you are disabled access is fine however the toilets are downstairs.

My date and I had a great dinner at Fumo. The food was excellent, but the service is what really sealed the deal. Anton was a true Italian and a pleasure to be served by!

If there was an option to give Zero stars it would be for this place! The service was deplorable! The food was not good and lacked flavor / quality. To make matters worse the manager was disgustingly unprofessional !! He demanded to verify our signatures on our credit card! Unbelievable!! We have never been so insulted in our travels around the world. This establishment is not up to par for tourists, they have no concept of customer service! I wish I could report them to the better business bureau, that’s how horrible our experience was. To make matters worse, upon my return to the U.S , I noticed I was charged the incorrect amount. Now I’m refuting the charges. DO NOT GO HERE!

Very nice Italian food, served as tapas small plates and very tasty. Would recommend 2 dishes per person and then add more if required. Good wine selection. Staff are very helpful and polite. Definitely recommend, but need to book.

This restaurant is a bit more expensive but for me it makes sense to pay a bit more to get a great service, sit in very nice atmosphere and have a great food. For me memorable place where I like to return (only one which I found in this city area).

Great location and elegant decor. V unfriendly waiter. Nothing fried was available not even pan fried....no explanation. Odd. So overall poor value for money. Disappointing as I had an overseas guest. Won't go again.

I sadly don’t have any photos to share. The food was absolutely fabulous! Everything was so good. I am giving 4 stars because when we first got there, our initial waiter was very rude. I asked if he could wipe the table down and he got an attitude but it was still dirty! Then we ordered a bottle of sparkling water and he spilled out of the glass for all members of our table. After that, we had a lovely female server take his place. I really don’t think I was being demanding. I would definitely go back but would avoid that man at all costs.

Absolutely exquisite food and the approach is a bit like a tapas of Italian joy! Always helpful when you can't decide between so many fabulous dishes. The staff always make you feel well looked after and it's very efficient service.

Absolutely terrible service! They forgot one of our main courses, which resulted in us asking for the bill. When the bill arrived, we challenged the manager to why the main course never arrived and his words were “why are you attacking me” There was no apology and effort to rectify the situation with an offer of a discount or something else to eat. Don’t go here if you want to be treated with respect

I didn't enjoy the food at all. The lasagne had too much sauce and pasta and not enough beef. Almost like a microwave meal from a supermarket. The ravioli pasta was overworked. Thank goodness the wine was good!!

This place gets very favourable reviews, so I'll just say this: we've been here twice – once for drinks and a snack at the bar before a show (very crowded) and yesterday for a leisurely lunch. Both times, excellent food and service.
Top tip: they serve all day, so if you can come at an off hour (we arrived at 3:00pm for lunch) it's not so crowded and you get plenty of attention.
They have an extensive menu and it's going to take me many more trips here to try it all. Count on at least £50/head.

Absolutely horrible dining experience at this restaurant!!! The food was bland and left much to be desired. The service was completely piss poor. We had food items that seemed to be past their expiration date and items ordered not served to us; the Manger was unapologetic and hostile with us. He also did not offer to remake dishes or even give us the missing dish we ordered. To make matters worse, he accosted my girlfriends and accused her of falsely signing her receipt.

Excellent choice on menu (modern Italian). Well presented dishes with impeccable service. Excellent sharing/tasting platter desert option. Very handy for theatre land and National Gallery and a cut above the tourist traps around Covenant Garden.

The food is lovely, albeit simple, but I always look forward to coming back as there is a certain glamour to this place which gives you a great feeling inside. The authenticity of the staff has a special charm, however they are not always the most attentive at the tables. Perhaps that forms part of the authenticity? Who knows, but I keep coming back!

Decent food BUT ludicrous decision to say they bring the dishes whenever ready. I ended up with my pasta, meat and side in front of me whilst 5 of my family had no food in front of them. Awful policy - would never go back unless they changed that

Fantastic food and wine.Can be a bit noisy but we had a big group so didn't affect us. Slightly slender portions, but delicious. I had imagined the seafood platter would have been plenty, should maybe have had a side. Ice cream made up for it though, waiters were helpful and felt suitably special for my friends birthday

Had dinner here with 6 others on Saturday night, both the service and food were fantastic. The menu is extensive - would recommend approx 2 dishes per person and a couple of sides. Seabass would cooked to perfection and all the pasta dishes were great. Will definitely be back.

Was very disappointing. Went with a group of friends for a pre Christmas dinner and felt as we didn't have dinner. Portion sizes are very small and prices are too high for the portion size.
Some dishes were extremely salty and one pasta dish was so under cooked it wasn't even Al Dente.
on a positive note the interior and atmosphere was lovely.

Food is ok but service is the worst in town! We ordered 'appetizers', they brought in an 'appletiser', all orders were wrong, slow service - it took 30min for they to bring a basket of breads. I do not recommend it at all.

A lovely looking restaurant with a great ambience. We visited at peak time on a Saturday. Service felt rushed. We asked for a couple of things (condiments) which never arrived. I ordered the chocolate bomb dessert but as the sauce was cold by the time it arrived at the table it didn’t melt, I mentioned to the waiter but I felt I was being fobbed off so we attempted to eat rock hard chocolate with a spoon. Food was nice. Drinks menu good. It’s quite a pricey restaurant and I’d expect better service. The maitre’d was so aloof it came across quite rude. Nobody seemed interested in whether you actually enjoyed the meal.
