AVOID. I was given a rough quote of £150-£180 to have my cat sedated (with the appropriate checks) and then shaved as he has some badly matted fur. After taking the day off and arriving at New Priory with my cat, I was told that the cost would actually be £388 for the procedure! My grandad paid £70 for this procedure at his vet in Essex previously so I dread to think how much they overcharge for more serious issues...
Anyway, I questioned why it was now over double my received quote and the friendly staff member ran back in to confer with the vet. She returned with something along the lines of 'the cheapest he can do it for is £190, but that's only if it all takes less than half an hour and we would need to charge £100 extra to do the appropriate sedative checks' - AKA the cost had reduced to £290 with some caveats. I left with the impression that their prices are probably negotiable and they're looking to take advantage of unsuspecting pet owners to make a few cynical quid out of them.

Excellent service and our cat has been well looked after but as with all such establishments they are very expensive. A small tube of eye cream which was basically a repeat prescription was just under £90. But they always want to do another consultation aswell.

We took our cat to this emergency vet on Monday as they are the provider for our registered vets. From the moment we called, everything was explained clearly. The vet, Angie, put us at ease as our cat needed to stay for treatment and Angie was extremely caring. The updates we received from her, Callum and Roz were really appreciated and the nurse Sharon was very clear when we collected Eddard, who is recovering well! I hope we don't need to visit again in such circumstances (nothing personal!), but if we do, I wouldn't hesitate and would recommend to others.

The staff at New Priory were extremely helpful and understanding at a difficult time when they allowed us to be in with our cat during her final moments. They didn't chase us at all for payment when it took a long time to deal with insurers etc and it meant a lot to us to be able to see and be with our cat when other vets in the area were not allowing visits due to lockdown restrictions. Highly recommend.

Also have taken over three weeks to complete insurance paperwork.

All of the staff at this Vet are fabulous, the treatment is 1st class, they are all warm and welcoming and even after my whippet puppy had neutering operation he stills pulls on the lead to get into the practice. I think this speaks volumes! They are always available on the phone night or day and are extremely helpful with the best advice. I would highly recommend x

The best vet around and it's amazing to be able to visit when needed as it opens 24 hours. We had a really difficult time with our puppy and they were the most accommodating and all the staff there were super friendly and caring. Faye in particular was just the most wonderful vet and we couldn't have asked for a better person to look after our special puppy. Highly recommend these guys.

We are so very pleased we joined New Priory ... All the staff are fantastic in caring for our English Bulldog, Cleo ... Sadly Cleo has a few conditions that requires us to attend the vets regularly ..Cleo takes the visits all in her stride .. Last week we had a panic with our Chinchilla, Timmy , I rang New Priory to book an appointment .. Sally the receptionist asked if we could send a photo via email .. within minutes they rang me saying after looking at the email , Timmy should come in straight away .. we arrived within 20 mins and saw Russell , the vet, within 5 minutes of arriving .. Russell helped Timmy with his problem and everything has been great with Timmy since .. We will be registering our female chinchilla with them also ....Thank you to all the lovely staff x x x

It's never nice when you have to bring your pet in for emergencies, but New Priory is the best place for it. The service to first be advised on the phone is great, the practice is modern and friendly. The vet we saw took her time with my dog both times I was there, she was thorough, listened, and was very compassionate. You can call anytime if you need to get an update. It is costly, but running a well-working emergency clinic with good service is expensive, so I understand the high costs. I am just happy they exist, as they take great care of both pets and owners, and it is good to know there is always someone in case of an emergency. I am not registered with them other than for emergencies, but I would still highly recommend them.

It’s open 24/7, which is a bonus, as they are there, for any problems, day or night...
Can pop in, just for a weigh in, when ever I want, for my over weight dog, who is slimming down..
Plenty of parking spaces.
Wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dogs, I know they will be well looked after....

Fantastic vets! My dog needed an ultrasound and x-rays as she couldn't stop being sick. All of the staff were so lovely to both me and Margo throughout her visit and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else with her now! Great vets, great staff. Thankfully Margo is all better now.

Dedicated and friendly staff, saved our mischievous dog yesterday after he got a tiny sharp stick lodged in his throat late in the evening.
They saw him straight away, put him to sleep and removed the stick.
It's a huge relief to know that places like this are open 24/7.

Fantastic service, very friendly reception. I came came in with my friend who's dog was very ill and she was incredibly distraught. We were taken to one side, and the receptionist was very compassionate and handled us with care. The vet did all they could and we gladly would pay any price for the standard of service and care we received. I have recommended them to everyone I know, and when I can have the puppy if my dreams I know where I will be taking him.

I would like to thank all of the staff here, I have spoken with many and shed some tears with a few.
You did not hesitate after the emergency call (bearing in mind we were not registered with you either) to see our Lulu with 10 minutes notice. From the moment we pulled into the car park your care and professionalism were 110% .
You kept us informed on every eventuality and treatment.
Apart from obviously advising us of the costing you never once made us feel rushed or phoned us about payment until the time was right for us to come to you.
Sadly my Lulu was not strong enough to survive the surgery but I find so much comfort in knowing that she had such a caring and devoted team fighting for her. Your aftercare and thoughts were amazing.
Each and everyone of you make a difference and I thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart for caring for my baby girl.
