Great service at Halfords Abbey Lane , not the 1st time either , can seriously recommend this Halfords store , for helpfulness, product and prompt service.
I’m adding this extra comment I have had to visit Halfords Abbey Lane again , similar problem to last time and again the service was excellent , the problems I’ve had are no way connected to Halfords , but Halfords have been a god send in resolving the issues I’ve had .

Placed my order and was called to come and collect my bike later that day. Went in and after half hour realised they didn't actually have the stock in the store despite tell me that they did. I was told I would have a call back but never did. Then almost 2 weeks later after trying to get in touch with the store I called the main contact line (I was trying to avoid this and understand that they are very very busy). following this a manager from the store called me, they said that I would have a call back that evening from someone who could give me an update and they would call me back the next morning but never did. Almost a week after than I am still trying to get in contact with the store. During all this time the payment for my new bike is being taken from my salary. Overall exceptionally disappointed in the service I have received.

Ordered a bike, checked website said they were building it and will call me to collect. Was given a day and time on the website to collect but decided to wait for their call. Tired of waiting called them and they said it was ready to pick up. Went and picked it up last week, no q, waited for someone to serve me. The employee didn't show me around the bike, wanted to make me spend more money on a service plan, told them I didn't need it as my employers have someone to come in and service our bikes. She quickly went over the paperwork, no explanation, had to ask her to adjust the handle bars and seats, didn't show me the relevant things on the paperwork to make sure the bike was safe, even though she ticked the paperwork that she did do what she is supposed to do before the customer takes the bike home, she signed the paperwork no co-signature from myself as is needed on the paperwork because she didn't go through the relevant checks with me. I just sum up the customer service as sloppy and poor, not trained very well :(

Never get any service here. The staff only want to know if you walk in looking like Chris hoy or Bradley wiggins. Slow laborious process to buy the simplest items. I’d rather use smaller independent stores who appear to care for your needs.

Currently they distancing 2m apart outside and in - waited outside in the rain which cant be helped. Bought 2 kids bike, got home and both bikes cables where very lax- called the store and they asked me to bring it back. Returned 1 hour later only to wait in line again for 30 mins in the rain. Brakes adjusted quickly once inside with no problems. Bikes both otherwise seem to be fine.

Checked stock online, said could pick up in 1 hour. I go down and its out of stock. I call and ask if they could repair my punctured scooter wheel, was told yes to bring it down, I carry the 30KG thing in to be turned away and told to go elsewhere. Couldn't even be arsed to have a look at it. Some staff are friendly but most just potter around and look like they don't want the work. Stick to replacing bulbs and windshield wipers guys, its all you're good at. Happily avoid this store.

They have no idea of the concept of customer service. Order something for collection and not one notification to tell me its ready. I had to ring three times to get through to them, and when I asked them why no call, email or text, they just said 'sometimes our systems mess up innit'. No apology no nothing. Then they said I had to ring back on Sunday again to find out if its ready! Also I ordered a sticker to go with the bike which 'hadnt been delivered yet'.
Its been a week after Ive clctd the bike and not a whisper from Halfords. Pathetic.

The service at this store is awful. From bike not built properly to services where you bike comes back worse than it went in. Bad advice , bad service, disinterested poor management. Leicester's worst bike shop! So many wasted journeys there. I' d never buy a bike from them again, stung too many times.

The website holds incorrect comparability information for roof bar sets, when queried with staff, the incorrect information was confirmed but I have been left out of pocket. When I compakined, mycmy was not investigation thoroughly and dismissed. Hugely disappointed and has put me off re-using the brand. Found compatible set online and delivered next day from alternative website without any issue. Truly embarrassing service from start to finish.
