Visiting Loughborough & popped into Murdochs for lunch. I had the homemade quiche my husband had the pie of the day & my daughter had a huge fish finger sandwich!. Good selection of herbal teas too. Great service & yumny food. The lady that served us was lovely too & nothing was too much trouble for her.

We went for an afternoon tea for my mum's Birthday and it was such a lovely experience. The staff were so friendly and made such an effort, putting decorations on the table and playing happy birthday when they brought the tea out. The food was also very tasty and such good value, we really enjoyed ourselves!

We were very impressed with our Afternoon Teas today, 1 childs and 5 adults versions complete with milkshake, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and prosecco!! The service was personal, and very friendly. Communication before and covid arrangements were also spot on. Thank you for making a 70th birthday first meet up since March very special.

Easy to miss because it’s on the edge of the town centre, so not overcrowded. Excellent cream teas – unlike most places they make their own scones. Good selection of other light meals. They do a good Italian-style espresso. I really like the quirky decorations – every lampshade and chair is different, but they all complement the shabby chic environment. Prompt and friendly service. Good value for money.

Had afternoon tea, 3 of us, not impressed, we came on Monday, 50%off deal, so usually a.tea £15.95 so we paid £8, I wouldn't be happy to pay higher price, cheap fillings, cakes awful so sweet, the best thing was scone with jam, cream, we paid separately so should be £15.95each, we got one tray/shelf, cakes on bottom, sandwiches on top, just not worth the money, couple next to us there meal looked yummy, so felt disappointed, would not recommend this choice.

Cheap place to have brunch or lunch. The portions aren't big but you get enough for what you pay. Food is good and so are the selection of drinks.

If I could give no stars I would. First of all it was lunch time, there was only one other table of customers in. After being told to wait at the table to be served, it took them 15minutes to even come and take our order. I had looked on their website the night before and seen they did delicious sounding puddings (I am a puddingholic). I had decided to have a mega shake, this was supposed to contain cream, ice-cream, a whole doughnut, chocolate milkshake, assortment of chocolate treats and finally drizzled in Nutella. Sounds like a dream. What I actually received was a normal chocolate milkshake with squirty cream, chocolate chips and that cheap chocolate sauce you get that's like syrup. When the lady returned with my sweet potato fries dripping in oil, I asked her if it was a normal milkshake or a mega shake I had received. To which she confirmed it was a mega shake. I then had to inform her that it was missing the doughnut, Nutella and assortment of chocolate treats. She did apologise and said she would sort it. She returned with 4 stale mini doughnuts, the kind you can buy from Tesco in a plastic box 20 for £1. At this point, my sister in law had to return to work, so I paid and left. In hindsight I should have refused to pay and sent everything back. By the way the "mega shake" was £6.95!!!!!

Great one of our favourite places to go for coffee in Loughborough ,the scones are excellent too . Much rather support local people who are doing a good job than visit chains where you often have to queue and tables often need a wipe ! Murdoch's are friendly and service excellent !!
