Really nice to watch the swans in the Marina while drinking a perfect flat white. Excellent Covid precautions in place. Staff friendly, service quick and food tasty. Such a shame about the upcoming lockdown.

Arrived without notice for Sunday lunch for 3. Courteous reception and excellent food. The marina is down a small track but well worth making the effort to find it. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely & unusual place to eat & drink. Watch the ????, boats & barges go by in a tranquil spot. Situated close to the A6 easy to get to from Leicester & Loughborough. Sit in or outside & chill. I would advise booking especially w/ends. Took friends today on their 1st visit, they loved it too.

Went here on monday night after seeing 2 for £10 offer. I have to say it didn't disappoint. 2 of us had fish and chips with mushy peas, 1 had toad in the hole and mash and one had the ham, egg, chips and peas. Absolutely brilliant service and excellent portion sizes not like the tiny portions you get at some places when they offer this type of deal. All the food was freshly cooked and really tasty, the mushy peas were delicious. This will definitely be a regular monday visit whilst this offer continues.

An unusual Sunday lunch destination. We had heard good reports about the breakfasts and decided to check out the Sunday dinners. Very nice they were too and good portions/value. The online website is apparently not quite up to date but if you contact them on facebook or instagram, they will send the up to date menu but don't let that put you off. I would definitely go again.

I only had a mushroom soup but it was excellent. A very good sized portion with a huge crusty bread roll. Also two cups of delicious Lily coffee.

Very limited range. Went for an evening meal. There were no starters or desserts available. Draught beer was off. Burger's were ok, however the mountain of skinny fries you got were cold before you got half way through.

The restaurant has inside space and tables on an outside deck giving lovely views across the marina. Our supper for 4 was beautifully presented and very tasty. Service was very prompt although the place was busy. Fish and chips thoroughly recommended.

Nice place to nip for a coffee, nice selection of food too if you are hungry. Feed the ducks or watch the barges. Get youre duck food here as well. Recommend.

Lovely surroundings with great sun deck. No umbrellas for shade though. Food choices for lunch were rather restricted and no gluten free options. Portions were meager. Meat was tough and lacked flavour. Service was poor. No condiments and nobody checked our satisfaction. Requests were forgotten. I won't be hurrying back.

Visited today (23/07/18) for a walk around the marina and some food at the boat house. Upon entering the marina, there was an unmistakable smell of sewage in the air as I am sure there is a sewage treatment area opposite the entrance. With it being a 28 degree day, maybe it was down to the heat, but it made you feel pretty queasy entering the site. With it being £3500 for a years mooring here, you'd think they'd do something about it. Walked into the boat house restaurant for some food as it looked very fancy and welcoming. Asked for 2 glasses of lemonade which was £2.40 which I thought was fab... until I saw her pouring warm tesco value lemonade into our glasses. But it was boiling so I didn't make a fuss. Ordered some food which included a chicken burger and a Mexican bean burger (as my partner is vegan). I asked not to include mayonnaise or coleslaw on the Mexican burger for obvious reasons. I also asked for 2 more lemonades due to the heat. I was also informed by the lady that they had no chicken burgers left (at 1pm on a Monday??) So I said no problem, I'll have the 8oz beef burger. The lady took our order and we waited about 15-20 minutes. After getting our meals, we were happy to see that the portion was generous so we started to eat. There was no sign of our lemonades after about 25 minutes so I had to ask again. They were quickly brought out, still warm despite having a fridge with enough room in it. That's when things went from bad to worse. First they had put coleslaw on the vegan meal and it was all over the chips, So my partner could not eat a good half of her chips, then I noticed my beef burger had been covered in mayonnaise which I had to scrape off, but the burger looked lovely so I put up with it. I then bit into the burger and it was raw. The meat was all pink and it was freezing on the inside. It made my stomach flip and I lost my appetite. I informed the lady who snatched the plate and began to scold the kitchen staff. She told me it would be replaced but I told her not to bother. When I paid the bill for my partners food (which she left more than half of due to it being soggy) and the drinks, the lady said "they check all the burgers and even probe them so it must've been cooked". It was bright pink and couldn't even keep it's shape due to it being so raw. I paid and left. If you're thinking of visiting a marina for some food, go to Mercia or Sawley. This was our first time at Pillings lock and we won't be going back any time soon. Staff are inattentive and too busy arguing amongst themselves, there were flies swarming the eating and cooking areas, and someone let their dog off it lead and it was running around near the inside eating area. Not one member of staff said anything despite it being a 'dogs-on-lead' only area. Avoid this place, you'll only be disappointed.

On a hot summers day you can't fault this place, roll back the big doors and it turns into a huge open area for food and drink, I can't comment on the food but it's a great experience
