I have dealt with a lady called Dr Reshma on a few occasions. She is very compassionate, understanding, kind and always willing to help. Goes beyond to ensure I was happy before she came off the phone from me. She did everything to help my health concerns especially during this difficult time of my life.

Recently had an appointment with Louise and she was absolutely brilliant. Helped me calm my nerves, talked everything through clearly and was generally awesome. Wish I could pass on my thanks again to her as she really did make the whole experience a lot less stressful, as I was really nervous beforehand.

My whole family have used the surgery for a long time now. Recently however I've seen a significant drop in the service provided. Appointments are consistently and considerably late. They were 50 mins late for my sons ear infection appointment. Its not easy entertaining a two year old in a socially distanced surgery. My other son had jabs which were over an hour late! my brother in law recently had an appointment for 10:30 and was seen at 13:00!!! Reception staff are rude and unhelpful (especially the male). I feel they most likely put you down the waiting list if you dare complain. When I tried to make an official complaint the practice ignored my request and never contacted me. Even after they promised the practice manager would call me. I've therefore no other option than to leave a negative review if they will not accept my feedback direct. Generally just not a nice experience visiting or dealing with. The doctors I have dealt with there have all been great! Very caring and want to help. They just need to share their secret with the other staff. ## 03/02/2021 UPDATE - I took my son to the Victoria Park Health Centre today. His appointment was 15:45 and he was called in at 15:46. The doctor, as always, was very friendly and caring. The reception lady was also super friendly, happy and accommodating. I've therefore increase my review from1 star to 2 stars for this great experience. I'll increase/decrease based on future experiences but I hope all future visits will be as 03/02/2021.

The care I have received from this surgery has been exemplary, particularly as we are experiencing a national crisis. I have never had poor service from any surgery at which I have been registered yet I have been so impressed by the commitment and diligence of the staff - all staff - at this surgery. I have every faith in them and very much appreciate the care I have received and continue to receive.

The reception staff are so rude and the website is so confusing to use. I've had my medication issued late countless times and one time they somehow managed to send it to Birmingham... I live in Leicester??? Absolutely do not recommend.

Today i got hung up on by a receptionist, I was told by another to book an appointment online and that the practice no longer books over the phone (which they do) and i have tried to call to tell them the practice never gave me access to book an appointment online. I try to call but can't hear anyone on the other side and I feel that the health center isn't what it used to be

I joined this surgery more than 5 years ago. During these years I have been seen by different professionals for all sorts of treatments, all of them have been fantastic, caring, friendly and dedicated. Reception staff are also great. I can confidently recommend VPHC.

I had a very critical 1-star review made in August 2020 outlining the system the practice forced on patients where it made it almost impossible for us to get anything done over the phone. We were being instructed to use their e-consult whether it was suitable for the particular case or not. I had a senior partner call me to discuss, and I think they have finally listened many months later. Upon calling today, I was not bombarded with long pre-recorded messages basically telling me to go away. Within seconds the phone was answered, I requested a consultation with a pharmacist and was told I was going to be called tomorrow. WHAT!? The whole call took about 37 seconds and most of it was me saying how much more efficient this was. My criticism of e-consult is that it is not fit for purpose on every situation and that having to get around the long form is time consuming (more or less 30 mins) and frustrating. This phone call is a sharp turn and a massive improvement. I will give the practice a full 5 stars when I can book appointments via the app again. Until then, VPHC regains a good score for listening to my feedback and changing their old diabolical system to one that feels like a breeze to use! I know the practice will read this, so a personal thanks for taking my feedback on board and improving the service, my jaw literally dropped at how fast and friendly my experience was after this change. Please do your very best to resist the urge to put pre-recorded messages back on the line, we do not want nor need them, they are merely an annoyance.

Very poor service indeed - you should not have to use eConsult to get a appoitment to see a GP - this health centre is removing patient choice. Econsult, telephone and video appointments are no substitute for in person consulations ( face to face ).

I wish I could leave less than one star!!! I moved recently in Leicester to do my MSc-Cancer Pathology, so I was recommended this health centre from the university. I went to get registered, completed all of the necessary information and I was told I would get registered within the next week as there is a lot of registrations going on. Over two weeks later I went there and asked what is happening and why I am not registered yet? as I am really ill and also need medicine prescriptions. The lady receptionist that i talked to couldn’t care less and was unbelievably rude. I called again today, over three weeks later after giving my registration form, and again had to speak to a very careless and rude lady that couldn’t help and the only thing she could do is tell me that it could take an undefined time to get me registered that could be, who knows? maybe 3 months later or who knows? maybe after I graduate and leave... There are other places to get registered in Leicester. It is better to find a place where people actually want to do there jobs and without that horrible grumpy attitude. And of course, a place where you will be given a chance to book an appointment with a doctor before you die.

Dear GP surgery, our family has been with your surgery since 2008 or 2009. The GP system in particular getting an appointment was easy and straightforward and that is one of the main reasons I stayed with the surgery. Many GPs including Dr Browne, Dr Khunti and Dr Andrews and few others were always helpful. However, the newly introduced online questionnaire platform to seek appointments is TERRIBLY COMPLICATED. SO MANY QUESTIONS, SOME OF THEM DIFFICULT TO ANSWER. Symptoms need to be listened and there is a judgemental process in making any decision - I believe. this type of system isolates a particular condition, lets us to make some judgements and TAKES A LOT OF TIME to fill in the forms. It took about 30 minutes to fill a form and to seek an appointment. and this has to be done everytime??? is this helpful at all? How if couple of us in the family want an appointment on a day - it takes 1 hour to fill in the forms; at the end if there is a system or web error, we need to start everything from the beginning? This is very disappointing and concerning. This system is going to make life complicated to approach GP surgery. I like our GP surgery, as you have helped us in the last 12 years, but I am really sorry I am not able to post a good review. While I am grateful to the support you offered all these years, the newly introduced system is deeply disappointing and complicated.

This message is for the self referral physiotherapy receptionist staff you are absolutely rude, and inconsiderate of others time you need to show customers more positive responsive respected with the attitude to help. There's no point sitting in administration if you aren't going to assist or help your customers pass on a message or complete a task adequately. Your not only wasting my time your the misleading NHS trust and lack of care been provided to patients when something can be done you be taken action to prevent a wasted appointment.

Avoid this practice at all cost. The GP's have zero empathy for patient symptoms and treat you based upon a number on a piece of paper. It doesn't matter what symptoms you present with, how bad you feel, how fast your health is deteriorating; if your blood work falls within range you're deemed perfectly healthy and sent on your way with no answers or explanation for your problems. If you challenge this diagnosis of 'perfect health', you're treated like an anxious hypochondriac. The doctors at this practice would rather send you on your way with a pack of SSRI's or beta blockers than treat your actual symptoms. Out of sight, out of mind seems to be their central ethos regarding the treatment of patients.

I visited the practice this morning to get blood results. I had an appointment with Reshma and she immediately made me feel comfortable and less anxious about the results . She was kind and patient with my questions and very reassuring. She gave me good advice on my results and I will be recommending her to my friends and family . She really is an asset to your practice , Thankyou Karen

A great GP surgery. In the interests of balance (since most people only leave reviews when they’ve had a bad experience), every single nurse, GP and midwife I’ve encountered have been super. I’ve had to make a few urgent appointments for my baby, and they’ve always been able to organise an appointment within a few hours. Thank you VPHC! Highly recommend.

I have been going to this clinic for 10 years (starting from when they were in Freeman's Common). I find all the doctors excellent, and the receptionists courteous and helpful. I struggle to understand the negative reviews here. Obviously all the staff are under time pressure because of the way the NHS is funded, but I think they do a fantastic job under difficult circumstances.

Great surgery. Always able to get emergency appointments when needed for my 2 small children. There are always routine appointments available in advance on the online system. Lots of lovely GPs, nurses and reception staff. Of course booking on the day is hit and miss and can be tricky to get through first thing. Sadly this is the case across most places now with the current pressures on the NHS and I don’t think it reflects the surgery. My family feel very lucky to be registered here. Thank you VPHC

In the past this clinic was quite good but in the last two years, I am sorry to say, this has got to be one of the worst GP booking services I have seen in the UK (I used to live in different cities in the UK): long waiting for phone calls (you have to call "thousands of times before getting an answer!!! very annoying!!!); always in a hurry; reception staff are, most of the time, not prepared. Hopefully our family will move in another city soon.

Good service but some of the reception staff were rude and condescending over the phone. One member of staff said I could set up an over the phone consultation and another rudely said I couldn't. Had to call up for a third time for the same problem, to which it was finally resolved by a nice lady who sorted everything out for me.

Some of the doctors don't seem to have their own knowledge of things and just read information off a computer. One time I came in for a routine appointment to discuss ultrasound results and the doctor didn't seem to be sure what the outcome was... ' I think' ... ' it does seem' but with a lot of hesitation. Any questions I asked were basically just shrugged off because he clearly didn't know the answer. Not at all reassuring. Some of the drs don't even seem like they are qualified gp's

Absolutely a waste of time to visit this GP. The GP's barely speak English and the errors that they make with basic rudimentary spelling is baffling. When you leave after your appointment, you are no closer to having an answer, ultimately, they will tell you to go to the chemist a purchase something over the counter. I could have figured that out without visiting the GP. The care is horrible, and GP's ask the patients to basically diagnosis themselves...What are they there for?

This has got to be one of the worst GP booking services, the only reason I go to them is because I study in Leicester... I call to book an appointment, which firstly takes ages to get on the phone too since it’s not connected straight away it would continuously do so until you get a hold then it hangs up mid way, so have to call again and then you do call again.. “sorry we have ran out of appointments” if I die from the illness I have it will be because of them ????

It only took 71 calls for me to get an appointment this morning.... And the appointment is only necessary due to detrimental advice from the GP during my previous visit.

If you wanna sit waiting for 2 hours just to get through on the phone then this doctors is for you, or if you wanna go in, wait 45 minutes after your appointment even though the surgery is empty, place for you again. Went in with a broken shoulder, bone snapped out and they said it was nothing so had to go elsewhere. Can't book in advance. Went in once and my doctor was late in the surgery then left without even notifying me. Gotta wonder why they're paid 50k upwards a year to Google my symptoms.

The doctor in consultation 14 DO NOT GO she's mean, terrible and irrespective. Once i booked a 10 min appointment she didn't even listen to my problems just kicked me out and informed me I need a 20 min (2 minutes talking maximum I swear). second time I happened to have her once again she performed a physical test on me IT HURTS and the ignorance made her gave me a false medical recommendation. I ended up taking an irrelevant antibiotic for a week!!!!! And the receptionists are mean as hell as well

Lol I don’t understand why the receptionist told me I had to explain why I wanted to see the doctor on the phone to book an appointment. That’s nonsense? My PERSONAL issue which I want to privately discuss with a doctor I also have to tell the receptionist. I am extremely annoyed and I’ve never experienced this ever before.

They claim on their web site 'Providing a health service to students and staff of the University of Leicester' . However, I tried to register with them today as I teach at the university and they declined me on the grounds of where I live. So not such a great service for university staff after all !

Avoid this practise at all costs. After years of struggling with Trigeminal Neuralgia, a deterioration in my general health and thorough investigation, my fabulous GP and a consultant at LGH diagnosed me with fybromyalgia in March 2015 - a condition I had never heard of. Unfortunately the severity of the illness, years of misdiagnosis' and no treatment for Fybro, battling on running my own business and raising my son alone, resulted in me losing my home, dignity, and depression. Unsuccessful in attempts to find affordable accomodation, I was forced into the private renting sector, moving to the Victoria Park area in May 2015 to facilitate my son's education at WQE. Now having this diagnosis to deal and contend with, I knew I had to find a good GP and after research decided to apply to join VPHC. I rang and enquired, spoke to a lovely lady and was told that although a wall joined to my house was the actual borderline, I could go along and sign up as they could take on some patients slightly over the line. Upon arrival the sour faced male bespectacled receptionist (THINK BREAD 1980's DOLE OFFICE) told me that I was not in their catchment area, I informed him I had been told to come along by a lady on the phone and the passive aggressive, condescending interaction began. That was only the start of a terrible relationship. Apart from referring me to a great counsellor, they treated me like a menopausal hypochondriac, every receptionist encounter would leave me feeling distressed and abandoned. Within 6 months of being a patient of VPHC I became a zombie, filled with prescription, mind numbing medication, and literally unable to function on any level. Having since requested my notes and read the actual notes of the doctors at VPHC, brings tears to my eyes. This abandonment by professionals left me bereft and hopeless and forced into the last thing a Fybro suffered should do - move GPs... Following the notes of VPHC the next GP was even more reprehensible. Last year I was illegally evicted from my rented home, as I lost all ability to function at any level, and became literally homeless - ill and homeless and still no treatment for Fybro! I was rehomed in March 2018 and my new GP and Care Navigator blush with embarrassment at the former NHS service I received. I am now finally being treated for the condition which was diagnosed in March 2015. My mental health and confidence was stripped away due to the lack of empathy and RESPECT from this surgery. I CHOSE VPHC BASED ON THE GOOD GOOGLE RATING. I now believe to good reviews are not real as this is not the experience is actually the opposite - I suspect family, friends or staff wrote those?

Horrendous place. GP failed to check or refer me when I complained of crippling stomach pains, which has resulted in me having to live with a now huge tumour in my body for an astonishing TWO YEARS. I complained about the first GP dismissing my concerns, leading the tumour to grow to an idiotic size, and the entire conversation/appointment is being denied ???? PLEASE DON'T TRUST THIS PLACE. I made the mistake of listening to that GP who insisted I was "fine" and and am now paying the price. I may never be able to have children now, yet they simply don't care. It probably makes me less of a burden to the NHS if I stay childless. This place is very concerned about NOT giving you medication that you desperately need though. You have been warned.

I think, that it 's a pain, that you 've to book early in the morning (for ''a late riser'', like myself: I struggle, to wake -up, @ 8.30 and I couldn't cancel an appointment, as easily, as I 'd 've liked). I also find; that the receptionists, Can be a bit 'mardy'?? But, on the other hand; the receptionists, can be very good (@ times) and Personally, to me: the Drs., 're very polite/well mannered and nice and helpful, to me therefore; 3 stars, 's a fairly fair reflection.
