Открита е през 1882 г.от кралица Виктория след единадесет години строителство, а в правителствената художествена колекция се съхранява картина на Хенри Тануърт Уелс, изобразяваща как кралица Виктория официално открива сградата. Nosotros entramos al hall, y dicen que se pueden presenciar algunos juicios públicos. Pudimos ver a varios magistrados ataviados con sus togas y sus pelucas.
