Added charges which were not advised, over charged on additional cover charge and are trying to charge for fuel which was topped up before return (29 miles travelled £21 fuel charge) despite this being topped up for them. The total cost of an advertised £48 rental is now £110. Do not use - you will regret this

Has to be the best priced, friendliest car hire place I have EVER been to!!! They have literally saved me £200 on a weeks rental compared to Enterprise Car Hire!! And Europcar in Darlington ain't much better!!! I could go into all of the details why I had to hire a car, but would be here for a while due to being ripped off to the tune of £10k from Autopark Durham! But I wont! That's for a different review ????????????From now on its gonna be Sixt all the way of O ever need to hire a car again. And no, this IS a proper review and no payment has been given to me whatsoever to big them up!! Although, I did hire an awsome car from them at fantastic rates!!!!!????????????????????????

My experience of SIXT Reading was fantastic!
One of the cheapest around, deposit returned quickly following the return and damage check.
I at no point felt rushed or pressured into any of the optional extras by Emilio, who explained the options, clearly outlining the benefits of each option. This alone is outstanding customer service in this day and age. The van was clean, well presented and fully fuelled. I returned it after hours and this was also simple. I would highly recommend SIXT Reading.
The real stand out point in my experience was that Emilio had attempted to contact me and notify me that the opening hours are currently different to those posted online. I was unfortunately unable to use my phone at work, meaning I did not get his message. He stayed open (for an additional 2 hours!!) and waited for me to arrive and collect the van. He remained polite and courteous. He was also good at sanitising his hands and keeping a safe distance as and when necessary.
Finally, a MASSIVE thank you, and sorry once again to Emilio for staying late and remaining patient and polite despite considerable inconvenience caused by myself. You are delivering an incredible customer experience!

Matt D pinned a scratch on front driver alloy on me but I had photo proving it was old. Photo of passenger front alloy damage all round rim but Matt failed to even list on my contract. Pinned imperceptible dent on rear passenger door on me, my photo included only part of door. IT WAS NOT ME WHO DENTED REAR DOOR, HE FAILED TO RECORD IT.

I had a bit of a scare when the branch manager called and said that they couldn’t let me have the van the night before I due to pick it up as the previous renter had tested positive for Covid so they had to quarantine it. Luckily the team at reading were able to find a van in Bristol and sent one of their guys to collect it. Top customer service! Full marks to the Reading team for the mammoth effort. Cheers guys ????

I had such a great experience with Sixt Reading. Very friendly, extremely professional - and gave me a welcomed upgrade when the car I wanted wasn't available. I subsequently increased my hire from an intial week to 3.5 weeks - so there flexibility was a smart move. The Sixt app is also super easy to change/extend bookings - so I would always choose Sixt first over (even cheaper) competitors.

Great experience with Sixt Reading. Even during the pandemic their office was quite busy (which is good sign). Booked the Lucky Dip category and got an Intermediate/Full-size estate.
The staff was very friendly.
A couple of comments if I had to give some critics.
I've been proposed several options and a GPS while the car was already equipped with one. And I've been proposed another car with Automatic gearbox (at an extra charge) while I would have preferred the choice with another car available car (not necessarily same category) for the same cost since I picked this lucky dip category.
Also, the car had a scratch on the mirror which was not recorded on the system (while some others were). So I had to signal it.
But overall very happy hence 5 stars.

Sixt in Reading were very polite and helpful when I needed to change my preservation. I rented a bmw 1 series for 4 days. Also had no issues with my deposit as this was released promptly. I’d definitely use this branch again.

The service was efficient and friendly. The car functioned well and was enjoyable to drive. The location of the rental station was a bit difficult to find due to the complexity of the Reading Traffic system (if you don´t know it), but this is not a criticism of the excellent service.

I can handle the upselling and hassling you into taking the insurance, but getting a £30 fine whilst in their car and then them adding on a £40 administration fee was the last straw for this customer. Never again. You've been warned. Try any other car rental place first!

Decent customer service, really helpful staff at the branch. Very cost effective pricing, car was decent but it confused me when I came to return the car the branch was owed during their opening times. I had questions for future rentals but couldn't ask them and getting an answer when you call them is difficult.

Used the Reading Branch - thanks to Rita for a friendly welcome, and late evening receipt of the car and check-over. Decent choice of cars, - I needed an estate and couldn't find one locally in Newbury - Sixt in Reading were the only one that could support with 24 hours notice. Happy to recommend.

Excellent service when picking up vehicle on Sunday morning. Fabian was extremely helpful - allowed me to start the process at 0845, prior to opening at 0900 - even moved hire vehicle to next to my car to assist with transfer of goods. Lots of parking available. Only local hire company I could find open on a Sunday - saved an extra days hire! Would definitely recommend and certainly use again in the future.

On arriving at the branch I was given a very warm welcome from both Matt and Kasia. I was made a nice cup of coffee to warm me up on such a cold day. The administration process was completed quickly efficiently. I was shown around my hire car & all questions were answered effortlessly. The Sixt Reading branch has to be one of the best rental experiences I’ve had. I’ve rented from here now numerous times, mainly due to the positive customer experience, and warm welcome I received. I was very pleased with the prompt, efficient, and extremely friendly service I enjoyed while I recently drove a couple of Sixt vehicles. Their positive and professional manner means I will only rent from here now, they simply cannot be beaten on their approach to customers.

Someone once told me that "You'll never remember what you spent, but you'll never forget how someone made you feel." Thanks to your amazing manager Dan, I felt like one of your most valued customers and I will never hire a car from another company again. I am about three months late writing this but I wanted to express my immense gratitude to Dan for going above and beyond the call of duty when I had a problem with my booking.
Not only did he call higher management to assist, he waited patiently and also closed the shop after-hours, when my daughter said she was coming down from Southampton to complete the transaction (and effectively rescue me). He even let me use his personal hotspot so that I could message my family in Dubai, to make me feel more comfortable while stranded in an unfamiliar place. He really is a star! I'd also like to express thanks to Matt who kept the momentum going by providing a few laughs as well :)
