Even if you book, no cars are allocated to you until you turn up. They can also "upgrade" you to a more expensive car, which will cost you more, without your consent. ie, booking doesn't book a car. Choosing a car type, doesn't guarantee you that car type.
The customer service reps are rude and unhelpful. We had a booking that we tried calling and emailing about, but got the cold shoulder multiple times. In the end we had no choice but to cancel when they didn't have the car we booked...only a MUCH more expensive one.
That left us without a car, resulting in a multiple last-minute phone calls to other car companies in the area to try to find something at the last minute.
Very stressful experience using Sixt. We won't be using them again. The other companies we rang were MUCH more helpful and professional.
Use Enterprise instead - the "Sixt" people are a pain to go through. They won't give you the direct number of the franchisee - but they seem to work for both Sixt and Enterprise (which seem ok).

I usually rent cars very frequently from major Hire Companies i.e. Hertz, Europcar, Budget however the best experience I've had is with Sixt, as arrived to pickup my vehicle and was greeted by Matt with a smile and who explained in detail of the rental very friendly went over personally with me to check out/over the car and explained everything that I understood before I set off. Upon return dropping my Rental Car off it was checked by Daniel and again greeted with all smiles, I am hiring again this week from them. :-)

I could not recommend Sixt enough. I am a bit late to write my review, it was back in August when I hired a car for the busiest and most important week of my life....yes, my wedding! Matt was super professional but also so friendly, and could not have been more helpful. He kept in contact to make sure everything was ok with the car and wedding prep. Thank you to Sixt and Matt for making it so easy and also providing a great car. I will definitely use your services again!

Fantastic service and staff from the Sixt in Reading. We needed a car at last minute due to a breakdown and firstly this is the only car rental place that’s open on a Sunday in Reading amazingly! Special shoutout to Kesha who was so helpful and got us straight back on the road for our holiday even though it was 2 minutes before closing time. She went above and beyond helping with the luggage as well. Superb service. Thankyou.

Shocking car delivery service from Reading Branch and Sixt. Booked a car 3 days in advance for the delivery only to find out it couldn't be delivered two hours before the delivery slot as apparently I didn't meet the delivery criteria!!! (4 miles out of the delivery range) Despite the fact that I specifically called the Sixt to double check if they are able to do so and it has been confirmed over the phone that there shouldn't be a problem. Misleading messages from 3 different SIxt contacts - won't recommend them for sure.

Never rent a car from this company, i paid a deposit of £335 and two months later i am still chasing my deposit. I contacted their customer services team who continuously promise to call me back and never do, to the point I have had to raise a fraud claim with my bank.
The worse part is they even took the rental payment from my account twice “by accident”.

If I could give zero stars. Haven't even got the car yet. They have bizarre id requirements, which they do not tell you about. Who remembers there national insurance number! The booking wasn't handled correctly should have been corporate and wasn't.
