Had to pass an eye test and get a prescription to buy lenses. More than 20 years using the same lenses suddenly I got my myopia reduced! (Obviously that's not possible) Or how to bin £60 to get lenses for 3 days. Then I got home and see that a part from having a prescription where it says I have reduced my myopia...they provided me with some lenses that are basically random and nothing to be with my old prescription neithere the one they have prescribed. So I passed a test and paid £60 to get a prescription with lenses of different power, different diameter and different base curve. And to finish it, I found that the lesnes they provided me have a funny "123" written in the border. Crazy. Think you took the piss.

A couple of months ago went there to collect my drug prescription. Relief there were no more than 2 people in the queue, as I was In a break. Guess after 20 min I had to go with out collecting as I was running short of time. Person in the counter only said "it's ok".. I said "may be to you but not to me" as I was leaving on a 10 day trip next morning. I was left without antidepressants for 10 days. Back to collect this month's prescription. again, not many people in the queue, my turn comes and the person behind the counter talks to a smiley lady that she was happily leaving the dep. When they finished their conversation and she left the person behind the counter said that my prescription was not dispatched and she was going to do it then. She comes back and ask me to wait for 10(?) more min as her supervisor needed to sign it and no one else could do it on her behalf. she had just left.. I had to go again as our personal time means nothing to them.. Again, on a trip next day, without my tablets... PLEASE, DO SEND YOUR PERSCRIPTION ELSEWHERE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO VERY BAD in pharmacy

A ridiculous experience from Boots in Oxford:
They sold prescriptive drugs to me for an over the counter medicine! And charged me 7 pounds extra without a reason on the receipt!
I was looking for Iron supplements without vitamin C and I asked one of the staff. They advised me to buy Ferro sulphate 200mg instead. After buying it, I checked outside what I bought and apparently these medicines are for people with severe anaemia. Ferro sulphate contains 40mg of iron, while normal iron supplements only contain 7 mg to maximum 20 mg.
After I returned to the shop the lady that sold me the medicine quickly left the counter when she saw me and left a consumer alone. Another lady helped me, saying this lady was in training… (really??? If you are unaware of your mistake you do not run!) This lady helped me, told me this item couldn’t be returned because it apparently was prescriptive (I do not have any prescription). Also while asking them about the prices on the bill I figured out I was charged seven pounds extra (for 2 pounds tablets). I did got the money back I payed to much, but couldn’t return the medicine and left it there. I told them they can throw it away as it is not something I would like to use.
Conclusion: They not only risk consumers health at Boots by selling stuff they are not suppose to sell, but also steal money from costumers. My advice, because it happened to me few more times in different shops around Oxford. Ask for a receipt and check it before leaving !!!

Doesn't even deserve one star. Staff are rude and do not understand basic conversation. Over the last few months of buying items from the store, when asking for help from staff, 100% of them have simply said 'I don't know' and refused to help any further, regardless of when the store is quiet. When trying to purchase items on a offer, such as a 2 for £4, I have been repeatedly charged double fees and have been totally disregarded when I questioned this at the cash desk. Thankfully staff at other Oxford stores are much kinder when I had to return these mistakes.
I now avoid speaking to any member of staff at the Cornmarket branch whenever I have to go in there. Boots should be ashamed that they employ people who have such a negative effect to those around them.

As a general health and beauty retailer, it's okay. But they do appear to have recently reduced their sandwich selection, which is somewhat perplexing given how busy Oxford is most lunchtimes, especially as a Boots meal deal is quite popular.
