Excellent Sunday roast dinner. We booked a table for seven, which was fortunate because 30 mins after we arrived the place was crammed. Shows how popular it is. Two young children were well catered for. Portions were good and prices were very reasonable

Not a bad place for a drink in the North lanes, beer/spirit selection is good & although I haven't eaten here the Thai food always looks appetising Can get very busy at times so be prepared to stand inside or out front on the street

We informed the staff of my friend’s nut allergy which they ignored and he consequently ended up in hospital. The staff were told, said they couldn’t guarantee anything - would’ve been great if they said that before serving the food! Avoid this place.

Bird law preceded the law of man by dozens of weeks, maybe even miles. Let me tell you this review is the highest of standards and you cannot regret any decision. If you've been here you will know how much it is. good. Everybody jump.

This is a good busy pub in Brighton with a great atmosphere. It's not inexpensive, but a good place to meet a group of friends and has a reasonable selection of beers.

We normally go to the Basketmakers over the road but it was packed out so thought we'd give the Eagle a try, glad we did. Really good food and attentive friendly staff. Good beer selection too.

The beer is always a good options but the kitchen has become hit and miss. The landlord is a top guy, really nice and approachable and seems to never takena day off. It is super busy straight after work and in the summer nights the street is littered with people from here and the basketmakers adjacent to here. The toilet's haven't been updated for a while and let it down a bit, they could benefit from a bit of a regeneration. Upstairs is a function room that can be booked out privately, it gets hot in there.

It's been a while since I visited The Eagle, 5 years the barman reckoned since the bar has moved since I was last there. The food has changed too, definitely for the better. I enjoyed a pint of Blue Moon, and a really good craft can - a deceptively strong mocha stout - and figured something solid was in order so went for babaganoush, flat bread and olives. The aubergine was silky smooth with a flavour just on the right side of cremated, with a sprinkling of pomegranate and mint chiffonade to lift you from its smoky depths; the flat bread was a soft, tasty pillow, obviously fresh not the defrosted cardboard we're accustomed to. Even the olives, which looked pretty bog standard packed a real flavour punch, thanks to a marinade, heavy I'm guessing on confited garlic and, like the previous dish, perfectly seasoned. This is exactly what pub grub should be - simple food done with care and attention. I shall definitely be back to check out some more dishes.

If you want a quick lunch on a Sunday, forget it. Kitchen slow and disorganised. Table of four next to us had one plate of food delivered, the rest 20 minutes later. Food average, roast potatoes on my plate ranged from inedible burned to just beyond boiled, roast beef was cold. Little stools at tables so uncomfortable that by the time the did arrived (50 minutes) we both had very numb bums. Won't go again.
