Good food , not so perfect service or food temperature.

Truly excellent dining experience. Upscale Indian cuisine. Did a tasting menu that came with a cookbook for each person at the table which I would highly recommend. Only issues were the service was a bit slow and the price is on the high end. I would recommend this place for a business dinner.

Nice place with a charm of old authentic library... the food is delicious, but quite expensive...

Too much noise inside and food price was expensive! A simple mashroom dish costs £22!!!

This remarkable restaurant is concealed in an old library. I must have walked past it numerous times without realising the gem inside. It is reminiscent of the British Raj in India. The food is North Indian inspired and unbelievably good. They have an extensive wine list. The deserts are magical! I took my father in-law here to celebrate my engagement and it instantly became his favourite restaurant.

Rubbish veg options and massively overpriced. Do yourself a favour and save your £.

A textbook testament to when a restaurant starts taking its lineage for granted. Our food was 1out of 5 & restaurants' staff's apathy gets a minus 10 out of 5. So this is how it went: 1. My partner and I went for X Mas lunch on 25 December 2019 2. My appetiser came in (Mini rice pancake with Jerusalem artichoke mash, coconut chutney) - this is where it started going downhill, yes at the starter itself. The pancake looked stale and was thickened like a peshawari naan. It was served with an "aloo bhaji" topping which wasn't anywhere in the menu's description. I couldn't find any artichoke mash either! Taste was strictly thumbs down. We thought its probably an aberration and let it go. 3. The main course arrived (Paneer and dried fruit kofta, morel and peas stir-fry, tomato fenugreek sauce) - The kofta screamed of staleness and the pilaf rice seemed to have seen daylight after quite a few days of deep freezing. 4. My partners king prawn main course (Char-grilled wild Spencer Gulf king prawns, Alleppey curry sauce, pandan leaf rice) had prawns that weren't even cleaned up of mud & sand. This is where we lost our patience! 5. Called in the server and let him know the issue. He said he will talk to his manager. The General Manager (Mr Harsh Joshi) came in 10 mins later, heard us, mentioned they have NEVER had this feedback before, said the customary sorry and slid his business card to us saying we should drop him an email next time we come! This is as bizarre as it gets and you wonder how a restaurant as old as this can't even get customer service 101 right! When a customer complains - you take care of the issue NOW - because that's how the customer will consider coming back. Not by handing off your business card taking it for granted that the customer IS coming back. Which world of delusional culinary are you living in Mr Joshi and Cinnamon Club? 6. After having had these discussion - we call for bill and see that we have been charged the full GBP 125 for the meal. This is where it became clear that the restaurant and its staff don't really care what your feedback is- you are just another check done for them. We called in the server and told him we wont be paying for food that we didn't eat and almost abhored. He went back to talk to his manager, 20 mins went by, another server came and made us repeat the story. We were at our wit's end, got up and walked over to the billing till to pay off and leave because our Xmas was already ruined. 7. There another staff (can't remember his name) came in and delusionally kept saying to himself that this is the greatest restaurant. He wasn't interested in what we were saying and what had transpired just that the restaurant is fantastic. It was indeed laughable. We paid off the full amount and walked off with disappointment that had turned into disgust. Mysteriously - amidst all this chaos Mr Joshi was no where to be seen again. To everyone reading this review - there are plenty many other fine dining Indian restaurants that serve better food and plenty many non-fine dining ones that do a MUCH better job at service. Either of them will not spoil your Xmas am sure. And Cinnamon Club - Good Luck!

The food here is absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and has vibrant flavours you wouldn't experience anywhere else. I found it hard to imagine Indian fine dining but this is a really creative cuisine well worth the money! Be aware this place is very expensive, certainly to be saved for a treat, and also in a bit of an odd location... The service is excellent, extremely attentive, though not very personal. There's also not much atmosphere here, as there is no music at all, not even background music, and the acoustics mean you can hear pretty much all conversations going on around you. The decor interior is stunning though, with striking bookcases, mirrors and furnishings. It's clear this is an upscale establishment, from the decor, the service, the food and the price. It's pretty spot on, but a little room for improvement from our visit, though well worth a visit!

Must visit spot in Westminster area. Ambience has a signature touch. Pricing is high (this place is not for everyone) Book your table in advance. Food is good but no 'Aha'

We went to the Cinnamon Club for an anniversary dinner and were treated to the most amazing food by the most attentive staff in great surroundings. The old British Library has been made into a very interesting place to eat. Francis (the Maitre d') looked after us and we came away having had a great experience. Highly recommend this venue.

excellent food, service and atmosphere in the old library. I made a reservation from Holland through the website and I was welcomed extremely friendly. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My girlfriend is vegetarian and the waiter recommended a very nice dish for her. We had starters, main and dessert, all well matched, spiced and presented. A definite must go to. One drawback, the price / quality is good and matches so it is not cheap.

This restaurant is a little on the pricey side (okay okay it’s actually pretty expensive) but the food is very good and the service has been superb every time I have been. They regularly do promotions (like a set lunch menu or a pre-theatre early dinner promo) which make it a lot more affordable, so look out for those on their website. If you are around Westminster and fancy a very nice cup of tea (not your cheapest as I mentioned above) you can sit in their library and just relax (provided they haven’t booked it for an event in which case they’ll direct you to their underground bar - which I personally prefer to avoid cause it has no natural light).

It’s ridiculous this restaurant doesn’t have at least 1 Michelin star. Probably the best fine dining Indian food I have had. And, finally an Indian restaurant where the vegetarian dishes aren’t just a side show. The dessert menu was amazing as well - not cloyingly sweet as many Indian desserts tend to be. Beautiful decor, I might add. Mains : mushroom taster, courgette Starters: veggie kebab, okra Dessert: sticky toffee pudding , Kulfi

What a horrible experience. We were a party of 6 and quite keen to experience this place. But the timing was so terrible - lag times of 15+ min for wine refills when we had two bottles for our table nearby. One entree arrived 20 minutes before the next two, and then another 15 min passed before the last two. It was the most disjointed dining experience we've had in a long time. The butter chicken - at 70 GBP for 2 people - was a plate of bony wings in a decent sauce, but nothing to write home about. The lamb was excellent, but all else had the same basic flavors when Indian cuisine presents an extraordinary range of options from a flavor standpoint. The service was erratic, as though they have never had a party of six before. Or as if this was their opening night. Regrettably, our conversation was repeatedly interrupted as we'd wave someone down to ask for more wine, inquire why only one person had an entree, inquire if the sides of vegetables would be arriving...that it negatively impacted our evening together. Considering how many lovely Indian restaurants are in London, this was a complete wash. The space is elegant, so it's a shame to have horrible service and decent (not extraordinary) cuisine.

We had a work lunch with 12 guests. The ambience is really lovely. Excellent wine list, with good food. Hidden gem.

Great, original and well-crafted and balanced cocktails. The food is a step above your generic curry house fare. The ambience wins with an old school colonial charm! Go for a drink and skip dinner.
