On the whole, this was a really nice meal. We went for the tasting menu... Which is very filling. I would highly recommend Quilon for a special occasion. The price is as you would expect for a Michelin Starred restaurant. Great selection of beers.. in fact there is a beer tasting menu if you like your beers!

Everything was hot and tasty. Accept the drinks of course. They were nice and cold. Thanks.

This restaurant was good, the decor was nice, the food was decent but for the price I was a little disappointed. Staff were fantastic though.

We started with a traditional Indian cocktail, spicy and sweet. Food was presented beautifully, spice level was adjusted as requested and dishes were all outstanding. The service was spot on and you could tell the chef cared about what was cooked, served and presented to his guests. The cauliflower appetizer was fried perfectly without being oily. The fisherman's platter was a lovely assortment of spiced shrimp, halibut, fish cake, and scallop. The Lamb Bryianni was tasty and the salt and pepper prawn was massive and cooked to perfection. We finished with the pistachio cake which was light, flavorful and a nice finish to the meal. Manager and staff were outstanding!

We visited on a Tuesday evening for a birthday dinner. I'm sad to say that the entire experience was deeply disappointing. First, before deciding to book the restaurant I sent an email to ask for additional information which was ignored by staff. Leaving that aside, I still decided to go ahead and book the place as described as one of the best Indian restaurant in London and a Michelin star restaurant. There is absolutely nothing to justify this. While ambience is nice, the vibes of the place are fairly unprofessional (with staff dropping things on the floor, etc). Food was disappointing too: plates arrived dirty (I'm sorry to point out these details but that's not something I expect when going to a restaurant, especially a Michelin star rated place!), portions were small and in all honesty the beer pairing menu a joke (with one paired bottle shared across the whole table - I was expecting one paired beer per person at least). It was nice to receive a birthday dessert, so I appreciate that. I overall don't think that paying 95£ per person was justified considering the service and food. Sorry to be direct but we don't recommend and won't be visiting again Quilon. You can find much better Indian restaurants in London (see my other Google local reviews!), so don't be fooled like myself!

I really loved the food here. The flavours are so rich, and a lot of love has gone into the food. The atmosphere is very romantic with dark lighting, prices are high but I would go again just to taste the flavours and to enjoy this high quality of Indian food. The cocktails are also excellent.

Lamb Kotthu was divine. Service is spectacular. Lamb shank left much to be desired it lacked a depth of flavour and stronger spice profile. Malabar paratha was too flaky, almost to the point that it couldn't be used to scoop curry before disintegrating--either it wasn't freshly prepared or something else.

The chicken biriyani ???? is a nice dish to eat. So is the tandoori salmon ????. I have also enjoyed their naan bread. Given the area the price is fairly understandable. However, I would not order from this place regularly as it is expensive and my order on UberEats took ages.

I know we visited Quilon when restaurants were only starting to re-open after lock-down, however, one could be forgiven for thinking that a Michelin Star restaurant in London, would grab the extra down-time as an opportunity to plan a grand opening with perhaps a little more refinement to their food and the ambience of the restaurant. Based on the experience during our visit for my wife's birthday, I can say without hesitation that this is by no means a Michelin star! Although the food had some flavour, it became apparent when our food was served that the dishes were incoherent with their respective descriptions on the menu, with the "lobster" probably being the most shockingly underwhelming! The cutlery and plates were poorly presented with smudged fingerprints all over the rims. Having eaten at several michelins, I was shocked by the such poor presentation of every plate of food. Our lobster, which was one of the most expensive items on the menu looked like over heated regurgitated mac 'n' cheese! Although directly next to the 'Taj St James Apartments' We were the only guests in the restaurant bar another table, who we could hear complaining about their food and expressing how deeply dissatisfied they were. To top off the evening, we found a hair in our paratha! The service was OK, and they did take off the "lobster" from our bill, however this restaurant fronting itself as a Michelin Star is absolutely deplorable and is indeed a very poor example of the standards that Michelin represents. Our experience was only made memorable by our decision to take a trip to The Connaught and order a club sandwich in order to avoid going to bed hungry!

Went for the lunch set. Loved the ambience and the food, top quality. I got the lamb briyani as my main and the cauliflower fry as a starter. There was also a small tomato rassum in between courses which was delicious. There was a lot of food and we struggled to finish but every single dish was great.

Great restaurant and staff! Lovely ambience - not loud like many Indian restaurants and very peaceful with he decor. The waiters were attentive and manager (I assume it was) was lovely to talk to about the food. Highly recommend the mango curry - very naturally sweet! We had it with lemon rice but I am sure it would pair nicely with normal basmati We paired it with the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme and also American Express Small Shop

This is the best Indian restaurant we have been to in London. The food is of course excellent, but also the service and perfect, staff very friendly, they are here for you to enjoy the experience, and they can wisely advice you on the dish. Nice spicy soup and sweets offered, very good standing.

I got the 3 course weekday lunch deal for £31 and I was very disappointed in the quality of the starter (very tasteless salad with no twist for what’s claimed to be a Michelin * restaurant in their website) and the main (very average fish curry). The desert was the only good dish but the experience had already been ruined by the 2 prior dishes and the very unprofessional (almost rude) service by staff. I wouldn’t recommend this place because the experience provided isn’t worth the money.

A great twist on Indian cuisine from south India. A great seafood and vegetarian selection and staff keen to provide a unique dining experience with taster type selection if you desire. An excellent venue and great choice if you're after Indian fine dining.

Yum! Came here for brunch and was not disappointed. Food, service, ambience was all excellent. Went for the vegetarian option which had a great selection of South Indian favourites including idli, masala dosa, samber... the list is extensive. Don’t eat before going to take on the brunch menu.

I had vegetarian tasting menu - nice food, bit wasn't blown away. Which is fair enough, considering the restaurant prides itself on seafood

A beautiful looking restaurant - service and attention to detail was top notch. Yes the food is served up exquisitely, with a menu which had subtle twists. However the let down for me was the food, as considering the amount you spend, the quality of the food in terms of spice and flavouring was average at best.

Went again 27/05/19. Same review as previously! -> Exceptional food here. South Indian seafood. Lobster curry with Malabar paratha to die for. Service is good and they dont take tips. Which is rare. Top3 Indian restaurants outside India, for me.

Posh Indian restaurant with Michelin one star. Ordered seafood tasting menu - which was 95 GBP per person. You get 5-6 dishes all contain seafood. They are delicately made and indeed quite tasty. The service is though a bit rushed... for example, we were there for a birthday and had told them in advance, we got a birthday desert but literally the lady just came out and put on the table without saying anything. We also ordered a few wine to go with the dish and 2nd wine was out but no dish and no one came to explain what the wine was.... So it didn’t make us feel special. I think it’s a good restaurant, but lack the special feeling you expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. Not sure if we will be back.

Quilon, named after an old seaport and city near Kerala, offers south west coastal Indian cuisine and is one of the few Michelin star restaurants in London. Given the coastal nature of the ingredients, seafood is central to the menu. However, with a good variety of meat and vegetarian options, the menu is varied and accommodates for all dietary requirements, Dishes are designed to be shared and the chef is happy to suggest a tasting menu tailored to your requirements. Quilon is one of the few lucky Michelin star restaurants in London, awarded its first star in 2008. Being the sister restaurant to the infamous Bombay Brassiere , it is no surprise that a michelin star was on the cards. The interior is smart with a small bits of colour dotted around in the form of murials. With lovely semi circle booths it was a fairly relaxed atmosphere. Slightly too dusky for my liking but I visited at lunch so can see that ambiance working more at dinner. With an extensive wine and cocktail menu, you will find (or be recommended) drinks to accompany your meal. To start with we had a Botanical Garden Cocktail: Gin, Grapefruit, sweet basil, pink pepper corns, cucumber, coriander. This was light and refreshing and really nicely presented with a grapefruit segment in the drink. I was also very excited by the Frozen Mango Margarita: Jose Cuervo tradition, Cointreau and mango. Very strong and punchy but I do love a frozen cocktail. I can’t pretend I am used to dining in Michelin star restaurants in London so didn’t know what to expect. Having visited Goa, I knew the food would be less spicy and lighter than other areas in India. We started off with a Mini masala dosa: rice and lentil pancake filled with tempered potatoes and vegetables, served with samblar. I do love a dosa and this certainly did not disappoint with a good amount of filling and a touch of spice. We also had the Cauliflower chilli fry (gobi kempu bezule) crispy fried cauliflower tossed with yogurt, green chilli and curry leaves. There was a good crunchy consistency but felt it could do with a little more spicy. The Crab cakes claw meat with curry leaves, ginger, green chillies and cooked on a skillet were a highlight and the mustard dressing accompaniment was amazing. As suggested, we had a number of main dishes to share. The Quilon fish curry cubes of halibut simmered in coconut, chilli, and raw mango sauce was stunning. The fish was so fresh and just melted in your mouth. The sauce was creamy but not too heavy – a fantastic dish. The Venison chilli fry: strips of venison fillet tossed with onion, chilli and curry leaves was another firm favourite. Good level of spice with tender meat. Unfortunately the the Pan-fried English Duck breast kasundi coconut cream sauce was a little on the dry side for me. We loved the sides of Lemon rice basmati rice and Malaar Paratha. The latter was a soft refined flour dough beaten to thin sheet and folded to form layered bread, cooked on a skillet with pure ghee It was so light and tasty and so much better than a usual naan bread! To finish off our meal we just about had enough room for the Fresh mango (seasonal) with rose ice cream. It was so juicy and fresh and the perfect amount to not leave us absolutely stuffed. With lovely staff and an inventive menu, Quilion is definitely a michelin star restaurant in London to check out. All the better if you can make it a little cheaper with a set lunch menu. However, if you want to float the boat out then opt for one of their tasting menus (meat, veggie or fish) which can be paired with beer or wine! There is a no tipping policy which I found slightly odd but had to respect it. On the plus side at least there is no onus to add 12.5% to the bill!

Recently had a lovely most delicious dinner here with my son. The service by Benny, was unparalleled. An impeccable restaurant much attention to very detail, and Benny was an exceptional help in choosing our food. I have eaten Indian food all over London, this is by far my favorite and worth the price. I will come out of my way to eat here again!

Excellent food and drinks. Although the food portions were small, the flavour really made up for it. The drinks also had a right balance between alcohol content and flavour. Aside from the food, I loved everything from the decor, ambience, service, and food presentation. I highly recommend this restaurant, however do note that it is a bit on the pricier side.

Excellent food but the restaurant doesn’t present itself as a Michelin star restaurant. Menus are old and stained, bathrooms a little underrated, service is ok, but the waiter forgot a few little orders we made. It was empty though we were told it was “practically impossible” to get a table. So the ambiance is so so. The tasting menu is very good.

Amazing service and delicious food. The waiter was very thorough and helpful when making selections of food and drinks. Decided to try the non veg tasting menu. No regrets there. So tasty. My other half had the pistachio cake as dessert. Hands down the best I have tasted. This place is an absolute must and definitely visit again. This is probably the first time I have visited a Michelin star restaurant and actually walked out stuffed!

A wonderful Indian food experience! I went here with my misses for our 1yr anniversary and wow did they pull out all the stops for us! A continuous supply of smiles from all staff, always asking us if everything was ok and they would always be ready to fill your glasses with water. Food here is good slightly debatable whether it's worth it's Mitchellin star, but this is the only star restaurant I've been too. The biryani was quite similar to my mum's which is amazing! The roast chicken was nice and so was the lemon grass rice, it is a must! The pistachio ice cream is a godsend! Don't leave without ordering it! They also gave us a little cake as it was our anniversary fee of charge! Which is very nice of them. Overall experience was wonderful and not as expensive as I thought it'll be, was around £60 for the two of us!

We really challenged the waiters. I think we were the worst costumers for them. It was our first time with Indian food so we constantly asked the waiter for help and we was very confused about what to eat. In the end, we left a lot of food in the plates, as it was too spicy. It was a pity as the quality was very high, as well as the colours and the smell. It was my dad’s birthday so I asked a waiter to bring a cake with a present I prepared for him. They kindly brought a slice of cake with a beautiful candle, and we ungratefully asked for more slices, one for each one of us. They brought more without a sign of discontent. The discipline and behaviour of the waiters was 10/10, one of the best I have ever seen. The prices were low compared to the location (Central London) and the food quality.

This is the best Indian food I have ever had. We went for the beer tasting menu and everything was exquisite. Both in presentation and taste. First course was papadams with 5 different chutneys. Second course, broccoli chop with fried oysters. Third course, was fried haddock with malabar parantha. Fourth course was lamb biryani and fifth course was pistachio ice cream with sponge. All the courses were paired with complimenting beer. The overall cost was roughly £90 per person. Will definitely visit again.

A good restaurant. Real Michelin Star. The food is delicious. The menu is rich in varieties. The staffs were good in interacting with the diners and suggest appropriate dishes. We ordered okra deep fry, mutton shanks and chicken curry. The dishes are innovative. The gravy part impresses more.
