Nice wine, decent food, good service but quite expensive for the quality (the cheese tastes like M&S branded cheese...)

Decent quick lunchtime food. Excellent selection of wines, but I'm afraid very little for less than £40/bottle. Very quick and courteous service.

Extremely good customer service. The staff know their wine. Their selection is massive and their area inside is simple but elegant. A good little place to take out your loved one or host a really big (100ppl) Christmas party. The food there is AMAZING. This is a highly recommended place for the location in the city. Lunch and dinner is AMAZING. Great place.

One of my favourite places to go for wine and tapas. They have only a few outdoor seats but more downstairs. It tends to be quiet, which is what I like about the place. Good wine selection and the staff seem knowledgeable about the wines. I wish they had a bigger tapas menu, but the ones they do have are delicious. I recommend the avocado toast with mozzarella.

I came down to Planet of the Grapes for a work meeting, and we shared 4 small plates off the menu, the food was absolutely beautiful. The food is of excellent quality and was cooked to perfection. Our host was warm and welcoming and knowledgeable on the menu. I looked forward to returning again soon. Sadly because i was so busy tucking into the food i didnt take a picture!

Where as Vinotecha is swanky, this is more humble. What you get here is amazingly friendly staff who know their wine and very happy to recommend something tasty and a bit different. Great honest a reasonable food to go with fantastic wine. I LOVE the fact you can buy the wine cheaper to take home, and i usually come home with 2 or 3 bottles in my bag. Honestly, go here with goodmates and get wasted as you talk the night away. Not many places like this. Love it.

I love this place. If you like wine and knowledgeable, non snobby staff with great platters and nibbles then come here and lose an evening. Fantastic.

My trip to the City are few these days, but it was much quieter than I remembered and that was everywhere. This restaurant was known to our friends, for us the first time. The decor is a mix of old school like furniture, and bottles. Table tad small for six, especially as we ate tapas style, so several dishes crammed in. Great variety of dishes, loved the green jalopenas, or whatever they were; the cauliflour was tasty, tasty tender turkey (sprouts too small for the roast, I thought), suggested wine without being pushy, and their advice was excellent. nNo room for puddings, shame as they looked good.

This is place is a gem of a find hidden away down a set of stairs opposite mansion House Tube Station. I went here to celebrate a colleagues 60th birthday, they have a great selection of wines starting from around from £20 to £1000’s which you can buy from the shop inside this little restaurant, but be warned the corkage fee is a whopping £10 if you decide to drink it there! I had the Pie and salad, and it was cooked to perfection, salad had a lovely dressing and it was just the right size for a lunch (would not recommend it for a dinner meal) , my college had the Venison Shank with root vegetable mash and the other had the Welsh Black sirloin steak with chips, and the only complaint was about the fries that tasty a bit underdone – apart from that everyone was happy. after our meal we had some coffee and a digestif drink.Service was excellent and the staff very accommodating and friendly.

Fair wine selection. Found a nice organic unfiltered Rioja with the help of the staff. Ordered the scallops with morcilla only for them to come with two measly bits of chorizo. When I complained I was told they were morcilla. What idiot can't tell the difference between chorizo and morcilla. If you have run out just say or knock a couple of quid off the bill for false advertising. It's as easy as that.

I met a girlfriend for lunch at Planet of the Grapes. To be honest I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name of the restaurant, but in the end they exceeded my expectations. Food: We took advantage of the OpenTable lunch special where you receive a starter/tapas, a main course and a glass of wine for 20.00 GBP. We ordered the Sardinian fregola, peppers, crayfish, baby spinach and the Bruchetta, burrata pugliese and caponata for our tapas. For our mains we ordered the pan fried pollack, grilled artichokes, fennel and lemon butter and the fresh tagliatelle, courgette, board beans, parmesan and summer truffle. All of the portions were good size and the food was delicious. The serving was so big I couldn’t even finish it which made me sad because it was really tasty and fresh. Drinks: We ordered a white and a rose wine. Price: 20.00 GBP per person for the lunch special plus VAT and 12.5 service. Great deal! Ambiance: They have a few tables outside, but the main restaurant is downstairs. It’s a cozy space. Service: The service was welcoming, friendly and attentive. Would I go back? Yes, I would go back again if I was in the area. The food and service was great.
