A stylish bar/restaurant with good atmosphere, loved by the locals. A good place for drinks or to have lunch/dinner.
The inside decoration is very trendy, it has a very intimate atmosphere at night, but since most of the lighting comes from lanterns hanging from the ceiling, it can be pretty dark.
It's quite big on the inside but you must certainly will have to wait for a while before getting a table. Pizzas were very tasty with fresh ingredients.
Staff could have been more attentive.

Came recently with some friends for drinks and nibbles. Sarah on the bar was so attentive and really went above and beyond! We were honestly treated like royalty by her and left feeling very satisfied. Will definitely be coming back, hopefully Sarah will be working again.

Recently I went to mare street market for my brothers birthday and as soon as we all set foot inside the open kitchen, we were all awed by it’s vibe and interior. It was a mix of trendy and fancy.
Now, the most important part, the food, it was amazing!! I tried everyone’s food and i was not disappointed at all. My chicken burger was one of the best I had. I want to go back and have another. The only issue we had with the food was that one of the rice dishes was raw and uncooked which we got it remade for free.
The service was extremely helpful, we had no problems with getting the food remade and the waiter was nice. However the waiting times are very long, it was expected with the amount of people there. We had to ask for things twice because the waiters had to deal with so much.
The experience was great and will come back in the future and try the other stores in mare street market.

Had the best pizza ever in this busy but fabulous place. Fresh and still bubbling and as thin as a crisp! Just how I like it. Flavours were epic. Had the simplest of choices. Anchovie, olives, capers, and tomato, without any cheese so no gloopiness, just great flavour. Definately a place to go back to and recommend.

Mare street market is super trendy and such a great place for drinks! It has really good atmosphere and fun decor. You may have to be patient getting a table, but definitely worth it.
I've only eaten here once, but the Korean chicken wings and padron peppers were delicious! We also got the burrata, but it came with peppers in sherry vinegar, which is not a good combo - should be served separately!
The service definitely needs improvement as the table service was quite slow.

Quiet courtyard with heaters. Visited on Wednesday lunchtime when indoors looked busy but we were out doors with only one other table taken. Food good, service excellent and very friendly.

We booked a 2h slot in the chandelier room. Great decor and the food was delicious! Pizza was a little burnt but the steak was very tasty. My only reproach was the service, it was very slow to get the attention of a waiter/waitress. After sitting down, no one came to check on us to take our orders. During the service, no one came to check if we needed anything else but they did mentioned no less than 4 times that we had to liberate the table at 7pm. Even for dessert we had to hail for attention from the waitresses. The staff was just chatting away behind the counter. oblivious to the clientele. 45mins, 30mins, 15mins, so the 2nd half of the meal didn't feel relaxing at all.

Booked the Chandelier room for brunch. Nice atmosphere and cool interior. Had some very delicious pizzas and bottles of Prosecco(vegan and organic) ????The girls that serves us was very friendly and good service.
One thing I didn’t quite understand was that they always had to get a separate person to take drink orders, even when we just wanted another bottle. Either way we had a great time and will definitely be back for the pizzas ????

I visited from the states to find a local neighborhood with character. My good friend suggested this market as it is her old (and favorite) neighborhood. I was impressed with the vibe and it was a pretty setup. The service at the bar wasn’t great as I asked for a beer menu and they said they were undergoing “changes to the menu”. I am not sure what that means but they did have a good beer selection. I noticed people enjoying the coffee and food and the record shop has a nice collection of new and old. Definitely a cool place to stop if you want to venture further away from Shoreditch.

Cool workshare hangout area of hackney. Been wanting to come for a while. Thursday afternoon, busy but chilled vibe. Coffee, bar, record shop, clothes shopping pop-up, florist and the food smelt heavenly. Pint of pale ale and a fresh mint tea came to £7.20. Step free access is available though through a non-automatic door at the moment, the automatic door was out-of-order. Presumably this is temporary.

Wonderful place to hang out and enjoy coffee or lunch. We ate in the cafe area and had a very tasty coconut dhal with flatbread and veggie burger with fries. The dining room looked stunning with antiques supplied by Pure White Lines. With a record store, florist and pop up shop it's a great place to explore.

The food was okay (just okay), but the service was god awful! I'm sure (hoping) it was just the people serving us today and not their typical level of service, but overall the experience was nothing to write home about. The decor and ambiance make it a cool place for drinks after work and even a first date, but hopefully the service you get on the day you go is better than what I and my guest received. Hopefully, If I go back, I can update my review to reflect a better experience.

How to leave two reviews? The cafe near the entrance has the worse service but decent food and great coffee yet the restaurant as very odd breakfast menu that’s not very vegetarian friendly but a great dinner menu. Their service is very lucky of the draw. Cocktails are great though and the decor from PureWhiteLines is absolutely stunning!

Service is so slow. There’s clearly no system for table service as people don’t realise you are there and you have to catch people’s attention. Had to ask 3 times for the bill. Smoking area and overall decor are lovely though and the drinks good. Service lets it down

Probably the coolest place in this area. I’ve been having their coffee and cakes almost everyday and absolutely love them. I tried their margarita pizza which was tasty and authentic. Will try more food from them. The staff is very friendly. Definitely recommend a visit here.

Definitively a must! An absolutely great place to stop by for some food or a coffee. The interior it's a huge open space with sitting tables and big square bars however decorated superbly. It has a back terrace which is very relaxing and chilling, a great place for some unwinding in the midst of the day but you can also get work done.
Food in the photo: red lentil curry with naan bread and a latte. Delicious!

I initially booked a table here at 7.30 pm for yesterday night. They pushed back my reservation at 8 pm. We arrive and place our order. At 9.30, after over 1 hour waiting, a member of staff came and said we were not going to have our food because they needed to close at 10 pm.
This is absolutely disgraceful! We couldn't have our dinner because of their bad organisation and they didn't even offer us a free meal as a compensation. What a bad decision to go there...

Gorgeous interiors and comfortable outdoor seating area. There’s a deli, gelateria, flower shop, and several restaurant areas.
I’ve only eaten outside, but the food was great both times; at various times I’ve had the best banana bread I’ve tried, one of the best waffles ever, and rather excellent pistachio and raspberry ice cream. Also had very nice sparkling apple juice.

Had some teething trouble with the reopening post-pandemic, we waited 45 minutes for our drinks and another 20 mins for the bill. But they gave us a significant discount, result. Never had any issues before so don’t hold I don’t hold it against them and not should you

Opened yesterday as a dining room/ bar with an in-house deli, liquor store, antique dealer, record store, boutique, florist and radio station/podcast. All housed in an open-plan hipster haven with palm trees and chandeliers to boot. They've got the balance right, this place is going to be very popular, and I'm pleased to call it my local. ????

Loathe to give this ‘restaurant’ one star as we waited for our food from 8pm to be finally told at 9.30pm that there was no food left! There is poor WiFi connection so the app doesn’t load properly so the online ordering doesn’t work. Poor or no communication from staff. Was told there was arguing in the kitchen about this fiasco so doesn’t bode well. No compensation offered. If it does re-open after lockdown it needs new management and staff. Completely ruined a family celebration - avoid at all costs! Better to go a takeaway around the corner - at least you’ll actually eat!!

I love coming to Mare Street Market both in the summer and winter. The food is great and very reasonably priced (order the mushroom pasta) and I was surprised at the end with a HUGE vegan red velvet cake baked by the deli that was mouth-wateringly good. The drinks area is also really fun. I love that there’s space for a boogie and the music is always funky. Great for big groups too.

Lovely place, full of antiques, plants, lamps and very good pizzas! Breakfasts are good and the service is efficient and friendly. You need to hunt down your table and share with strangers, which adds to the friendly vibes. There is a space where there is a different menu and you do need to ask for a table form waiters, if the rest is too busy.
