By far the best GP I have ever had. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is ever too much.

No respect for your problems or what your going through and they make it increasingly difficult to access any services. I always have been fobbed off with "Call back another day at 8.00am" The doctors and nurses have been ok over the years but they are hidden behind an iron curtain of the never ending 8.00am dial tone.

There is no reason why patients shouldn't be allowed to discuss issues with the same GP. There is a reason patients ask to speak to the same GP as some listen and some GP are so rude they don't care as they don't even want to speak to patients Problems are the receptionists, few are rude and un cooperative, they want to choose who you speak to. I have made complaint to the NHS and GP ombudsman. It use to be a good surgery when Dr Gordon, Dr Martin were there. There must be an issue Drs keep changing in this surgery. I would not even give this surgery a one star had too as need to leave review.

Absolutely terrible service never get an appointmant when told to call at 8am and lines are busy for an hour and the doctors are usless and end up getting worse before getting better. This place needs shutting down or rehiring everyone that works there and be taken over by people that accualy know what there doing with there job

Just called for a telephone consultation. Asked that they bare in mine that I am working and could be in another call so may not answer 1st time. Reception kept repeating 'we can't give a time ' despite me replying that I am not asking for a time just to bear in mind that I am working. I was eventually told that a message would be left but if I missed a 2nd call that would be it. It must be lovely to have a job where you can totally disregard your duty of care based on making 2 calls! GP practices - a law unto themselves.

My GP gave me wrong medicines, 3 rd I told him that it will be better if he change his job to some kind of Lab tester! I have lost my main Job. Because of his wrong choices I have to find a new job. But it's no so easy mainly of COVID-19

Our twins have been born 10 days ago, and we were told by the pharmacist to speak to the drs as our kids were suffering acid reflux. Now as we'd only been home 4 days....because our kids arent registered there, they wouldnt even telephone us back to give us ideas, and maybe a prescription for something to help settle the reflux. Had to travel to loughborough urgent care, and given great advice by their GP. I cant stand the place as it is. But it's going further and further downhill. Some great friendly receptionists. But I think they've got the impression they're doctors? If your ill, try to sort it yourself, as even in the covid situation they dont want to see you.

The 2 main problems are the receptionists and booking service. One of the receptionists is rude and uncooperative, other than that the other are kind and helpful. The dentists are not the problem as they do a fantastic job but trying to get an appointment can sometimes be near impossible. Overall its not as bad as other reviews actually say it is. Working on these two issues will definitely result in a higher rating not only from myself but from other people

Absolute diabolical service you call the surgery to make an appointment because the doctor tells you to ring in and book for 6 weeks time and you can't you have to ring on the morning at 8am. I start work at 8am and by the time you finally get through they are all booked! Ask to speak to the practice manager and shes never available, stupid way of doing things and impolite receptionists! Do not recommend! Wouldn't even give them a 1 star!

Been trying for weeks to book an appointment no luck ive taken so much time of work to call and even go online and never anything. As my condtion got worse i just went and paid over £100 for private treatment elsewhere. To see a doctor at this surgery would be a miracle. Good luck to all that are trying.

Genuinely disgusting levels of service. I cant be bothered to explain the awful service i received when dealing with my cancer diagnosis but just trying to get an appointment is impossible. You phone and you are told there are no slots and nothing pre bookable. Im not interested in hearing how short staffed or understaffed they are, if i need a doctor to get medication, it should be their responsibility to make that happen. Just telling people to try phoning on a daily basis is a disgrace. If you are thinking of registering here, dont bother just stick to walk in clinics you at least get half a chance of being seen.

Some of the staff seem okay, but there is one receptionist who insists you run through the problem and she likes to decide she knows the best course of action - the NHS could recover thousands by getting rid of the GPs here and using her instead, since she's obviously better qualified than them! Rude, horrible woman. ***EDIT*** I've taken my rating down to 1 star. They have completely screwed up the appointment booking system and it's now impossible to get an appointment with a GP. I urgently need an appointment to increase my medicine, yet I've been waiting a month because the GP I was booked in with is sick/on holiday.

Absolutely ridiculous appointment system which is NOT working. I tried last night to book on line and it stated there were no available appointments from today until August 31! That is TWO WEEKS -So my option is to phone from 800am-815pm in the morning (along with many others I’m sure) or go to the surgery at 815 and queue - probably only to be told there are no appointments! Having no other choice I rang 111 at 630am and spoke to a very efficient and helpful lady. - she made me an appt at A and E for 720am where I saw an excellent doctor who diagonised a chest infection (my husband is the patient who last year had chemo and radium treatment) and gave him a weeks course of antibiotics. I should not be having to use up valuable hospital time but what choice do I have.

Called a total of 105 times from 8am onwards (opening time) to finally be connected, only to say there is no appointments left. An absolute joke. This has now happened multiple times to me. What makes it worse is you cannot book in advance and if you do its a minimum of a four week wait. Complete and utter joke. Also when you finally get an appointment they give you one with a nurse or anp who do not have the power gps have so are unable to properly diagnose, refer or write prescriptions. Useless.

There is a receptionist (the one that picks up the phone - she has a blue uniform) that is the most disrespectful person I've ever come across. They also LOST my paperwork and they wanted me to fill it again! The woman with blue uniform and curly hair was nice and apologetic and the one with the red uniform didn't know much (kept asking the other ones) but she was still trying to help. GPs like this stucks the hospitals, making huge queues of people waiting. Also, their webpage is not updated (they told me they don't know how to do it!) so please, do not trust it. Please, I really need to be change to another GP, I can't put something as important like my health in their hands.

Been trying to book an appointment to see a doctor for over a week for my other half as the nurse practitioner told he he needed to see a doctor when he needs more medication as the one he needs he has had for 4 months. Rang from 8am everyday to be greeted with the engaged tone, after 47, yes I kid you not 47 attempts this morning I get through at 8:28am to be told no doctors appointments, after I had to explain everything to the receptionist, who was to say the very least sounded bored with answering the phone, and was obnoxious and rude, I was told he could see a nurse practitioner for what I described!!!! I repeated what I had been told to the reply of you will have to ring earlier tomorrow then won’t you! Upshot is he is going to see the nurse practitioner because the receptionist said she could deal with it, the irony? It’s the same nurse practitioner who said he needed to see a doctor!!! Just hoping the consultant receptionist is correct. Bring back Dr Martin, Dr Gordon, Dr Hollingsworth and Dr Lambert and get a new reception team that actually don’t sound bored and that aren’t downright rude

Only given 1 star as you have to give A star to review. Otherwise it would be zero. A relative has a highly contagious infection and I was merely asking for a doctor or nurse to spare 2-3 minutes from their day, when at the surgery, just to take a look and confirm if it is or not. But the receptionist, she say no! No appointments today. What a joke. It’s alright it seems for the infection to be spread to others rather than making a decision to go ask a doctor/nurse if they could fit them in. Apparently the reception team aren’t allowed to think for themselves on what is the best action to take, they have to follow procedure. Offered a walk in centre ha ha. That appears to be the way to go, no point in wasting our valuable time and energy trying to make an appointment and tackling the reception team.

Can anybody tell me what is going on here with the appointment System? There used to be plenty of appointments to book on line , I have been checking daily for an appointment however there are none for the next 2 weeks !! Please please could someone from kingsway inform there patients of what is happening . This surgery is appalling as it is , reception staff are the most rudest I have ever met !! I think CQC need to do unannounced visit here , try to book an appointment as a patient , speak to these receptionists and hear the rudeness for themselves. The fact all of the GP’s have left speaks for itself.

Well I can honestly say I have only been with this practice a short time and I have had no problems on the phone busy yes but all surgeries are the same ! First appointment was to see practice nurse who was lovey ! Was sent for scan the following day ! Results within ten working days ! Followed by two drs appointments and treatment carried out today ! I saw a lovely dr last week but didn’t catch his name but he was very nice and polite and explained everything with no rush ! Today the treatment by another lovely dr so far so good let’s hope it’s stays This way as ! I know they very busy and it’s very hard to fit everybody in ! Very polite receptionist when phoning through and returning call back when need ! Keep up the good work Kingsway/ Thorpe astley ????????????????

Getting a doctors appointment at any surgery these days is frustrating and stressful. At this present time, I have always managed to get an appointment usually booking online ahead of time. I have not had to book an urgent appointment. I have seen the nurse several times and find them friendly. GPs are okay, but there have been a lot of changes so not that familiar with the GPs that are there now and one of them that I liked has just left. They do seem to have a high change over of GPs, but there has been a lot of changes at this surgery. I always find the receptionist to be friendly and they do a good job with what they have to put up with. Not always easy sitting on the front desk being the first point of contact. Overall I am happy with this surgery. They have a newsletter by Twitter so a good way of keeping up with their patients.

Update (Nov'18): not only insufficient availability at this surgery, but incompetent doctors too! Dr couldn't even read blood test results to give correct medication dosage! Good thing I checked results myself beforehand! Highly advised getting a second opinion and not relying on this place! So so difficult to get an appointment on their phone booking system, try for days. Staff are rude and care less. Can only talk to the doctor about 1 issue at a time, what to do about my elderly father who has dementia with multi bodily function failure?!

Awful as soon as you step through the doors u feel depressed the place has gone downhill ! The waiting room is so grubby the seating looks like they’ve dragged it from the tip ! You never get to see the same doctor twice. Getting an appointment is ridiculous. I could go on but instead I shall find myself another surgery that gives a thought for their patients.

Disinterested staff, poor service/over subscribed. I've been trying for a week and a half to get an appointment so that I can get my medication (run out). Appointments have run out for the whole of August so you are told to just call in the morning and hope which isn't useful when you're working.

Absolutely terrible service. Very rude and careless staff. Very difficult to get an appointment. I was told to go to a walkin centre for my sick child several times as their emergency appointments are always fully booked. If it is available then only to see a nurse practioner, which is a waste of time. After that I always have to go to the walkin centre. Its veery difficult to reach the GPs as they are always busy or fully booked. Kingsway surgery is famous for the walkin centre staff as the most of their patients are usually go there! This place should be ashamed of themselves.

Getting an appointment is akin to climbing everest with no arms and legs. They have vastly overstretched themselves and I've spent WEEKS trying to get an appointment with them now, literally weeks. If you're looking for a new surgery go somewhere else, even if it's out of your way, because otherwise all you will get is disappointment when trying to make something as trivial as a routine appointment. And if by some miricle you make an appointment you'll only get to discuss one thing. Anything else needs discussing you need another appointment because they are so overstretched meaning you have to go through the whole long winded process again. You never see the same doctor twice meaning you have re-explain an issue if it's been ongoing. It's like their plan is to turn the surgery into a twisted real life medical version of Krypton Factor or worse yet some form of psychological torture to test the affects of constant disappointment and piss poor medical care. No wonder they were recently voted as the worst GP surgery in the entire UK! At one point last year a doctor told to me keep smoking ahead of back surgery despite me asking for help in stopping as he said "it may be difficult". Well duh, I wasn't expecting quitting an addictive substance to be a cake walk ya dumbass. Avoid like the plague covered with aids and various forms of cancer.

What a disaster, no appointments available at all, I don't mean this week, this month, I mean EVER. The new automated appointment system just says "nothing of this type available" where to now? I work from 8.30 so cant ring in the mornings and later in the day get this message. The NHS need to be told about this failing Practice before someone dies.

Need a drugs review for high blood pressure, got an appointment with an ANP, what a joke, was told to take BP readings twice a day for a week then make an appointment to see a GP. Receptionist would not make an appointment, the readings needed to be done 6 times a day. Cannot get an appointment for love nor money, have been trying for about a month now. Don`t bother even trying with this practice.

Tried to register as recently moved to the area. They told me to go back to my old surgery for prescriptions even though I explained I've moved out of town. Told them my meds are urgent as I have breast cancer. They said they couldn't register me until December!! Appalling as the notice said urgent requests will be actioned. Guess having cancer isn't urgent enough for them.

Tried phoning in to book an appointment. Phone is always busy. I can't get through to anyone after trying for the nth time. Its frustrating to say the least... The automated system doesn't work as it gives you a time and date for an appointment that doesn't suit you at all and it's not what you want either. Its what they have left over so it's either take it or leave it or die. Your choice.
